Hey all, I'm new to the hide, been shooting what most people consider long distance (1000M or so) for a while and now I'm looking to take that next step to get even farther. I sold it all, every bolt gun, every scope and pooled the money together on an MRAD in .308/.300WM (kept the rounds I had for previous rifles). I'm always looking for advice, but excited to take the next steps. Current rig:

Desert Tech 34mm 30moa scope mount . It's extra really to clear a mono upper as found on DTA rifles. 30moa cant, mount is in great condition with only a couple very light marks and no damage. Selling for $100 shipped tyd.

I'm listing for sale a very nice Winchester model 70 "Coyote" in .243. I am the second owner of this rifle and have owned it for about 5 years now, I have probably only put 50 rounds through it or less since then. I don't know the total round count but judging by its condition, maybe a couple hundred rounds fired at most. It has some handling marks and cosmetic flaws, but nothing I would consider major or anything that affects function at all. I've tried to picture the flawed areas best I can with the photos. The last time I shot it, I had fired some handloads for another 243 I worked up and this one was shooting them pretty well. If I remember right, just under 1" at 100 yards. The trigger is heavy though and could use some work. Someone that has the time to tinker with it will have this rifle shooting great. I am asking $950 shipped for the rifle with Leupold bases and rings (lapped). I would sell rifle and VX-3 3.5-10x40 duplex for $1350 shipped. FFL must accept from individual. Edited to add: Decided since I had the rifle out I'd take her for one last spin. shot a few rounds of hornady 95 gr and the results were not impressive, but the barrel was clean and may not have been fouled right away. After the Hornady I sent 4 of my handloads downrange and was able to print a pretty impressive 4 shot group at 100 yards.

I can’t seem to find the answer to two simple questions. And BFG is closed right now.

I like to carry bolt action rifles cross-body, muzzle up. Like this (not me):


1) So will a padded BFG / Blue Force Gear / Vickers / VCAS (all different names for the same damn sling) work just fine? I’m 99.9% sure all I have to do is to attach the padded bit to the rifle’s front for it to be comfortable.

2) I’m less sure of this: with the padded bit attached to the rifle’s forend, can one still adjust length of this “reversed” BFG sling while the gun is over the shoulder (like in the pic)? Muzzle up, either cross-body or not.

See, I’m not sure if the length mechanism will work “backwards”; the opposite of a military muzzle down and over your stomach carry in which this sling is typically used.

I want some for my S5 and I'm wondering they're high quality. Aadmount aren't much more expensive, should I try and get those instead? The aadmount aren't listed on the website yet, but maybe if I give the owner some measurements, he will make them.
