I need some measurements...length of fore-end on KRG Bravo and MDT Field Stock

Morning all,

I just picked up a lightly used Remington 700 .223 with 16.5" barrel for cheap...and even cheaper after the 25% off I got at Cabela's yesterday! Of course, I'm ditching the Hogue oversold stock and putting it in something a bit dressier. This will be used almost exclusively for range use and steel.

I've narrowed my search down to the KRG Bravo and the MDT Field Stock. I'm trying to figure out which one has the shorter fore-end given the stubbiness of the barrel. Can anyone who owns these give me a measurement from the front edge of the recoil lug to the tip of the stock? So far, my exhaustive internet sleuthing suggests the KRG is the shorter of the two but I can't find actual specs anywhere to prove that.

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Accessories New feature for the Optics Bridge - McLeod Precision

New goodie for the Optics Bridge. The Riser Extension. Here is the description from my website and some pictures as well.

Link -> https://mcleodprecision.com/products/riser-extension-for-optics-bridge

Also note that I will be packaging the Optics Bridge, Kestrel Holder, Wind Flag Pro, ARCA clamp and Riser Extension together into a single bundle for the holiday season. Turnkey kit. Put it on the Christmas list. Join my mailing list or follow me on the hide to get notified when it is available. I expect on or before Black Friday and the package will have a discount vs buying all components seperately. Pics below of the complete setup.

About the Riser Extension:

1000001639.jpg

When I am sitting behind glass for 2 days on my tripod with the Optics Bridge, I notice that you have to lean forward a small amount to clear the 2 tripod legs. Small amount and small issue, but after 2 days of it, it does get annoying.

The Riser Extension allows you to move the clamp backwards 1.65". This small amount does not adversely affect the balance much and does fix the vertical alignment eliminating the need to lean in slightly. Two of us ran it for a full 2 day match and it worked out great.
1000001632.jpg1000001633.jpg1000001635.jpg

The Riser Extension can also be turned 90 degrees so it is inline with the Optics Bridge and becomes a riser to help your clamp screw clear the base of the Optics Bridge. See photo for a visual and that knob in the photo is 0.8" diameter for reference.
1000001631.jpg

Another scenario is mounting scopes or small spotters on the Optics Bridge. The Riser Extension can be oriented forward to shift weight in that direction, if need be.

The Riser Extension is for the Optics Bridge only. It is double sided presenting alternate mounting options with 1/4-20 counter sunk center holes and standard ARMS17 1.1" 10-32 threaded hole pattern. Comes with hardware to mount to the Optics Bridge. Weight is 2.5 ounces and is machined from 6061-T6 here in the USA.

All other related products seen here can be found at this link to my website -> https://mcleodprecision.com/

Any questions, please reach out to [email protected] or DM me here. Thanks everyone.

Tikka action build

I’m looking to build off a Tikka action. Would I be further ahead to just buy a new rifle and take the action out or try to find and buy the action only?
I only found J&A to sell Tikka actions. Anyone else out there?
And when you find an individual selling a Tikka action, they are gone in a blink of an eye.
I would need the magnum bolt face as I’m building a .300WSM.
Is there another decent company out there where I can get an action for $800ish. The closest I found was Origin (closer to$1000)by Zermatt and I already have the TL3 in a 6.5 PRC which is great, but looking to go lighter in weight and cheaper$$$ build.

Any input, suggestions, information or criticism is appreciated. Thanks!

Reloading Equipment 2 boxes of berger 105 6mm vld hunting bullets

I have 2 unopened boxes of berger 6mm 105 vld hunting bullets. Only interested in trading for berger 6mm 108 gain elite hunters. Straight trade 2 boxes for 2 boxes we pay our own shipping cost.

I don't care what lot # the 108s are in not that good of a shooter. I built my load with the 108s so I'd rather just have all the same bullet, that's the only reason to get rid of these.

Annealing wrecked my groups

So, my lapua dasher brass got its first annealing on an AMP annealer after 3 firings. The same lot of bullets, primers, powder, same powder charge, same exact seating depth. I had about 40 rounds left over from the 2x fired brass. Those still group 1 hole. the annealed brass is shooting about .75-1 moa. Of course, i figure this out 1 day before leaving for a match. I would use my barrel tuner to dial in the groups again but then i'd be dipping into my rounds i need for the match. Thank god i have an option. Threw my 6.5cm barrel on the AI, zeroed the berger 140 hybrid ammo, and its shooting 1 hole as usual. I hate not being able to shoot my dasher but oh well.

Has anyone else experienced this? i found a thread on Accurate Shooter that seemed like someone else has experienced this. The conclusion was, i need to play with the seating depth to tune it back in, then after a couple firings, the original seating depth will work again.

Leftist women and the LBGWYHONBBQ are panic buying guns.

To protect themselves from the rabid Trump supporters.

"I am thinking about carrying every day, said Ashley Parten, 38, a Douglasville, Georgia, resident who purchased stun guns for herself, her daughter and three nieces after the election. Parten, who is Black and bisexual, is also eyeing a maroon handgun that she plans on buying after taking a firearms class."

"...A few days after Trump’s first presidential win in November 2016, Parten said she was filling up with gas in Charleston, South Carolina, when a white man in a red Maga hat shoved her against the pump. She says she elbowed the man and then drove off. He told me that my N-word president couldn’t protect me any more, because it was Trump country,” she recalled."
