NEW Geissele 2 Stage (G2S) Trigger for AR15/AR10 Part# 05-145 $110 Shipped in the CONUS.

Bought this for a build and went with a single stage instead. This is brand new in the factory packaging.
  • The Geissele 2 Stage (G2S) was designed to be a high quality, cost effective alternative to the SSA.
  • It is a 4.5 lb. non-adjustable precision combat two-stage trigger and allows precise and accurate trigger control.
  • The G2S is manufactured from the same tool steel as the SSA.
  • Visually, from the outside of the weapon there is no difference from the SSA and the feel and reliability is the same.
  • The G2S Trigger will lighten the trigger pull relative to a standard trigger.
  • This lightened trigger pull will make the firearm easier to discharge.

5/8" 24 tpi muzzle threading also for magnum and big bore caliber ?

I'm considering investing in magnum / big bore muzzle break & a suppressor for a few projects ( 300 RUM / 300 NM with ELR in mind).

Over the last few years I've standardised all my muzzle thread to 5/8" 24 tpi.

But for large caliber, long heavy barrel ( 28" - 30" - 32" ?) I'm wondering if it is not too small? A 3/4" 24 tpi would have more meat?

I already have a 7/8" 24tpi on my 33XC, but options are limited in that size.

Any thoughts or experiences to share on this topic?

223 freebore - Factory ammo jump

Question for the Hidemind,

I want to build a 223 trainer setup like my 6.5 CM - impact action in an MDT chassis with 28” MTU contour barrel.

My smith stocks 1-7 twist brux barrels and his 223 reamer’s freebore is somewhere in the 0.100 / 0.125 range (he has to confirm exact dimension with me).

The thing is, I will be shooting factory ammo for the forseeable future. So no rounds longer than SAAMI length at least for now.

Who has experience with this much jump and factory ammo? Am I shooting myself in the foot?

69 and 77 SMKs loaded by whomever are on the menu, and maybe some factory loaded bergers.

Thanks fellas.

Talk me out of an Athlon Cronus 4.5-29

I'm totally new to long range shooting and building a 6.5 creedmoor bolt gun. Currently have a Zermatt Arms Origin, Proof Research stainless barrel, and TT Diamond trigger. I don't really have anywhere to shoot out past 250 yards at the moment but want to add a long range bolt gun to the collection and take a class or two this year. I don't want to spend a fortune but will go up to around $2000 if I need to. Would rather stay between $1000 - $1500.

I really like the Athlon APRS6 reticle for some reason. I think because the windage/elevation is .2mil from the center dot and it doesn't seem as "cluttered". But again, I don't really know what I'm looking for in this type of scope. It has Japanese glass and seems to really punch above it's weight class. But it's not a Vortex or NF. 😂

I've also looked at the following:

NF NX8 4-32- seems like a good, not great, option at the price point?
Burris XTR Pro- don't like the + in the SCR2 reticle
Vortex G2 Razor - old and I think there are potentially better options at this price point
Vortex Viper PST 5-25- it's not a Razor and only 25x
Zeiss LRP S3- magnification goes the opposite way. lol
Tract Toric- seems like a higher priced Cronus

Any reason to not go with the Cronus at around $1100 for my first PRS-type bolt gun build? Or are there any other options I'm missing?

Thanks!

Co-Ax parts holder print

Decided I wanted to have the extra parts for the Co-Ax handy for when I am swapping jaws or to hold the priming attachments. Threw this together in Fusion 360 and designed it to mount on the two holes behind the press on the Inline Fab mount I use, but would pretty easily be mounted on something else.

Will share the file if anyone is interested.

Firearms Colt Officer's model****SPF

I have two of these and want to upgrade one of them to something nicer like a Dan Wesson Specialist, which would be the only possible trade. Good condition, a couple small scratches, just cleaned at my gunsmith and both springs replaced. Shoots like a dream. Comes with one mag which I forgot to photo cause I didnt sleep last night.
