Night Vision **SOLD** Flir SXR Long Range NV Clip On

Hello Hide,

I have a couple of these SXR clip ons left in stock. These are in very nice condition and come with a 1 year warranty on the unit as well as my lifetime guarantee on collimation.

Most of you won’t know what an SXR is but think of it as a half Pvs-27 and half Pvs-30. The back end/housing of the SXR is nearly identical to the Pvs-27. The objective lens was designed by Flir to be similar to the Pvs-30 with a standard F lens and not the iconic catadioptric lens of the 22/27. This makes the SXR much lower profile than the 27 and have a footprint nearly identical to the 30. In my comparison side by side with Pvs-27s the SXR and 27 are very close in performance in low light. So close that I can’t tell a difference between the two in most any condition I’ve tested them in.

Snipers Hide price: **$5900**

These are a very limited run and I only have a couple left.

S&B Klassik field use

I have a Tikka CTR 20" 6.5 that I've been using as a crossover target shooting and hunting rifle. It's worn everything from Steiner 3-15 & 1-4 to a NXS 2.5-10 depending on what I was using it for.

It's now time to rebarrel so I'm planning on making it a more field/hunting dedicated setup. It's probably going to get a 18" 3b in 6.5.

So I'm looking into good versatile optic options to dedicate to this old rifle, newly barreled into a dedicated hunting rifle.
Namely, the Klassik 3-12x42 L3 since it's on sale.

I'm looking for a lower magnification range, light weight, great glass, and usable reticle for hold out to 400yds.
This seems to be it.

How does it hold up?
Is it pretty durable?
Is the glass appropriate for its price range or is it more like the Razor LHT?
Are there other good options I'm overlooking?
I'm trying to make an educated decision.

Night Vision Super Yoter C - Any Experience Yet?

I know these aren't super common yet, but this is an interesting clip on in the sub $5k range with a 640 core. Only info I've seen is human detection to 2,500 yds and up to 20x magnification supported but this seems very optimistic for a clip on under $5k. I'd love to be wrong!!

Does anyone have experience with this one?

Which piece of equipment is more important?

I did my first ever PRS competition earlier this year* and had a lot of fun! Only problem is I was woefully unprepared - so much so, I didn't have any dope for my rifle. I'm aiming to fix that this year as I want to go to more competitions this year with a goal of getting a top 15 spot.

I'm going to stick with Hornady 4DOF for my ballistics calculator as there are so many opinions out there that it doesn't really seem like there's any difference between the apps.

My question for you folks is if I could get one, and only one of the following, which would be more useful?

A Kestrel 5700 non-elite or a Garmin/LabRadar chronograph?

I'm thinking the Kestrel as my assumption is that having better weather data will give a better dope vs muzzle velocity measurements.

Is this correct or am I off base?

Thanks!

Origin short action and Hawkins Hunter DBM

I have a Bighorn Origin short action that I want to put in a Peak 44 carbon stock that takes M5 bottom metal. I’m interested in using the Hawkins Hunter DBM, but ran across this comment below on a website. My SN is in the 2400 range. I emailed the company that had it for sale and they had no idea.

Do any of you know if Hawkins Hunter short action DBM bottom metal only fits Origins in a SN range above 5350? And if so, why?
