Speaking of Mike Tyson

I never had any interest in being a boxer but when I was a kid I wanted to be a mountain like Mike. If he was fighting we were watching. Remember being really let down watching Holyfield 2. I didn’t think Tyson would win the rematch but how he lost it was incredibly disappointing. How the mighty had fallen.

ETA: I still think very highly of Mike even in the face of his shortcomings. It’d be an honor to get a pic with him. He’s one of the greatest to ever do it.

I never followed boxing not a single fight... before Mike Tyson. And I never watched a match.... after Mike Tyson (except for a couple of golden gloves kids things here... To be totally honest.)

One of my college roommates introduced me to a "Tyson Fight" in 1986.... and holy crap I was hooked on watching him turn cockey opponents into quivering lumps of TKO.

But I'll never forgive Mike Tyson for crashing not 1 but 2 Continental Bentley's. It's like a sacrilege... .

Oh well... his fights (beat-downs) were incredible.

Then you missed 'The Greatest'. I never got to see Ali fight in person but i remember watching his fights on TV. He was so fast he could hit you 6 times before you knew it, just like a speed bag. His politics and religion aside, had the not put him away in his prime he might never had been beaten.

Is that the one where he bit Holyfield's ear, LOL? I always imagined driving down the highway and seeing a big picture of Evander on the side of a truck that said Tyson Foods.

I knew who CC was as a kid. But he was just sort of one of those icons that you knew about... like Kiss or the Six Million Dollar Man. Muhammed Ali. I think he had a Saturday Morning Cartoon but it was opposite The Pink Panther or Looney Toons.... Much better stuff. They had a Mexican Mouse... Anyhoo. Ali was background noise... and at that age I didn't even know what Boxing was, except in John Wayne movies. And then it was, well, punching.

Ali was great in so many ways. I never understood the "hate" for him refusing the draft and becoming a NoI convert. Until recently when I recognize my personal 'high level of disdain' for all this crazy LGBTQI/Commie/Socialist/and-on-and-on stuff, etc. etc. Offer not valid in Guam, no returns, no refunds, As seen on TV. Anyway, the way people felt about NoI and an American Olympian turn 'Mooslem?' was probably as vehement as folks watching a dude beat Wimmen swimmers is today.

Anyway... he was the greatest. At a few things. I won't deny him that.

Tyson would have crushed him like a bug

He’s still a convicted rapist…

Sadly in the court it doesn't matter whether the "rape" was consensual or not, it's still rape. Tyson has spoke out a couple times about it saying that violent sex was his thing and it was always consensual. He's lucky he got busted back when he did because if it happened nowadays with these lying cunts in the MeToo movement, his life would have been totally destroyed.

I wonder the stories we would hear if we aired childhoods and convictions of all the members of the hide…🫣
I was a little kid when Tyson started crushing people and always enjoyed seeing it. Awesome boxer!
He could have been so much more if he hadn't fallen pray to Don King

Talk is cheap.

Nothing like an Iron Mike uppercut/left hook combo to instill a little humility.

I think his demise started with Robin givens and the money hunger whore of her mother!

Professional gold diggers have destroyed more than one career, but they had lots of help from Don King. I firmly believe had D'Amato lived even five more years things would have turned out entirely different.

Credit to King, though. When he said, "Only in America," he knew what he was talking about...just not in a good way.

i was VERY young at the time, but i remember watching Ali post-prison with my grandfather.

another guy i used to LOVE to watch was Prince Nassem. closest i've ever seen to Ali....only he was not heavyweight.
That girl was 18 dressed in Slutly lingerie and went to his hotel room at like two or 3:30 in the morning.

You see how hard Mike Tyson hits a grown fucking man just think about how hard he fucks pussy. She’s an idiot
son of a bitch..... finally we agree on something.
Whose victim did not conclude that it was rape until she lost the pagent at which Mike was a judge.

So really more like a John who shorted his whore.
nevermind that shit......BUUUUURN HIM!!!!!
If Cus hadn't died so early in his career, Tyson would be the best boxer in history.
negative, Ghostrider. Tyson was never a boxer. he was a fighter/brawler. huge difference. usually a boxer will eat fighters/brawlers alive in the ring. that is what tells you just how amazing Iron Mike was.

it would have been interesting if Mike would have had better people around him to see how far he would have went. but with all that success, comes the vultures. and they'll pick your bones clean.

i'm just happy he is found peace in his life and isnt yet another champion living broke and destitute....AND that he isnt destroyed by brain trauma.

That wasn't my point. I followed boxing very closely until the post Tyson era. I knew exactly what he was and wasn't. He was indeed a street fighter, but D'Amato had trained him so well, he could call out "3,2,2" (don't remember the actuall code) and Tyson would immediately strike with an uppercut followed by two left hooks...all so fast his opponent never realized the left hooks landed until someone told him later.

That was my point. I believed he so loved Cus that he would have followed him anywhere. After he split with Rooney, he never had anyone around him that gave two knobs of goat shit about him. It was just the money.

...and Robin Givens is living proof he never beat her.

A ignorant Opinion likely formed by listening to those who know even less but spoke with great confidence. A wrongly formed idea held with such affection that no evidence to the contrary can shake it. Before anything else Tyson was a gifted boxer. You think Cus pulled him out of the gutter as a good deed?

look here, wildman.....

having watched tyson fights, dude was a brawler. how about you take your bullshit, turn it sideways, light it on fire, and ram it straight up your ass?

Ali was a boxer. Naseem Hamed was a boxer. Holyfield was a mix of boxer with the ability to switch to brawl mode. Iron Mike was a smashmouth brawler. and it is rare that a brawler can destroy boxers, but that is exactly what Tyson did. Foreman was a brawler. could Tyson box? yup. but that isnt what made him the legend that he is. brawling and destroying is what did it.

trying to play the intellectual and talk down about something so fucking obvious just makes you look like a lowlife fuckwit trying to make his bones of someone else's back. that turd dont float with me. try some other schlub, stretchnuts. your bullshit post above, is about as stupid as the dumb motherfucker in the video clip, trying to be a wiseass and finding out shortly thereafter that it wasnt a good idea.

the only question now is, are you going to sit there and make the sad "i just got my ass tuned up for being a dumbass" pouting face like the dumbfuck in the video?

i usually try to show a bit more grace toward folks, but damn, your post was mind numbingly stupid.

Robin was not as good at bobbing and weaving as his boxing opponents!
