New SPUHR IDEAL CHASSIS SYSTEM (SICS)

Is “PRS” the new “Military Grade”? 🤣

Can I ask what were the few things about the chassis that you saw as a negative?
PS I know your rep in Aus, so no proof needed here! Lol

As I said, little things. I use my trigger hand index finger to drop mags when Im in a hurry, and I found it a challenge to do repeatedly on the SICS. Mag latch is quite small and stiff. Im not a real fan of the pure vertica thumb position that youre forced to use if you go for a thumb over grip, and the hinge itself impedes the ideal thumbrest location. I also didnt really like how janky the LOP feels when adjusting it. It locks up great though. Bag rider is a tad strange looking too hah.

I do love the threaded mag latch pins, adjustable folder tension, machining quality, cheekpiece, and pretty much everything else about it.

Bag rider definitely looks weird. I like how far forward it comes though, I can get rearward pressure on it while maintaining a "square" position to the gun with my forearm. I like that.

Anyone know if a ARC Nucleus SA would drop in? I understand Spuhr has 2 separate 700 SA chassis.
Thanks

Gentleman, out of interest can anyone tell me when the grip is fully forward, how close to the rear action screw is it?
Appreciated
Pete

Mine is slowly growing.

Was a Tikka T3x TAC A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor, now SICSier than hell, if I may say so?

Cerakoted in "Snigel Grey", one of a kind. The next Swedish Sniper Rifle is said to come in this color.

Here with a Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF Pro

I beeded mine. Well, I got help bedding it LOL.

Upon the question if a chassis systyem should be beeded Hakan Spuhr replied: "If accuracy is important".

These words keep ringing in our heads LOL. Please don't laugh, it's the first time I beeded anything, but my friend has a little more experience.

~ Other than the factory Tikka part - is there an aftermarket bolt handle / knob combination that will have a little more sweep and still allow the stock to fold/capture?

~ Will an 18" barrel clear the end of the rail ?

Curious, did this translate into a noticeable improvement on paper? I just bedded my krg whiskey 3 because the chassis/action were flexing when torqued and it seemed to be rubbing a groove into the aluminum block on one side at the rear tang.

I did a full bed though, just popped the a room out this morning and cleaned up the epoxy edges a little.

Everyone - please excuse my English - BEDDED, nothing else.

This is a build in progress, and I will shoot it tomorrow in this chassis for the first time. So, sorry I do not have a yes/no on any improvement. It will give me peace of mind that there is (probably) nothing more I can do. Just like breaking in a barrel or not...I did it, so I have peace of mind. Do I believe in it? Not really... The bedding is much more important, in my opinion without any facts to help me.

I hope this helps - there isn't much room I'm afraid.

Thanks for posting

Another chassis, with a Tikka T3x UPR now in Spuhr SICS, and ZCO840, 6.5 Creedmoor. Shoots like a dream.
This bolt handle did clear.

At first blush, fantastic. I was worried the height might lead to some instability but doesn't seem to just messing w it on the table. Will report back once I have some time behind it live.

By far the most important feature.
Almost all shooters i spoke to prior shooting sics would never alter the Lop in order to obtain correct eyerelief during course of fire and two months later all does it.

Why having a 10000 dollar long range eig with zero compromises and then compromising with eyerelief?

@Spuhr Håkan, what’s the muzzle device in the video you posted above? Something made out of brass to add weight? Or, just titanium nitride coating? Thank you

It’s homemade in brass.
She was using a US made brake from a company who threatend to sue us, so I told her that you can no longer use their brake.
She asked me to make a brake for her and i said yes no problem, what are my limitations?
There is no limitations, you can make the brake as you like.

So I did:)

Mr Spuhr

This looks super cool! How does the brass hold up to erosion? Did you choose brass just because it looks great, or are there other benefits?

One thing I’d like to see is an adjustable mag catch. I have 2 of these and love the quality, but that mag catch keeps my Vudoo match rifles from using this setup.

I am EXTREMELY satisfied with my Spuhr chassis (Tikka T3x TAC A1).

Some optical solutions below, with S&B 5-20x Ultra Short PM II and Pulsar Thermion 2 XP50 LRF.

Cerakoted in custom "Snigelgrå", Snigel Design Grey.

Caliber is 6.5 Creedmoor.

Need that new bag rider (didn't exist when I bought mine), then I'm all set.

I use the adjustable length quite a lot. I just installed an MDT ACC Elite Chassis, and was surprised to see that it was fixed (adjustable with tool).

SPUHR chassis you say? I wonder if this is going to crack and break in half, too?
Why come into this thread with attitude?
My Spuhr side plate cracked, my email was answered within the hour and my replacement arrived from halfway around the world in under 7 days....
Sounds like you are a little over invested in it all?
Anyway, goodluck with your endevours.

MDT ACC Elite doesn't need tools for adjust LOP, cheek height, or butt pad height. It's just push buttons that can also lock.

Anyone know who sells the clamping shell on the bottom of the bag rider?
