Terminus Actions

I placed an order for a LH Zeus QC and a spare bolt 7 months ago. He used to reply but it has been dark for about a month.
He said it would be done in a couple weeks. Shipped on Monday. So about right on time.

I ordered the same action (no spare bolt) about four months ago. If I can assume mjspeers' action is RH, it makes me wonder if it's just lefty actions taking a long time. Just curious. Trying to be patient ...

Sorry to hear that. Yes, mine is RH

Do you guys order directly from Terminus or one of the vendors? Seems like you save a about $100 ordering through a vendor. Not too big of a deal but if you're going to be waiting anyway might as well save some money.

I ordered direct in July. Starting to wish I had gone through a vendor.

Dang, I already have a deposit down with another vendor.

Edit: Seems like they don't have them in hand yet either though "Expected release date is Nov 17th 2022."
I apologize, yea the email I got made it sound like they were available. It wasn’t till I read your msg that I went back and saw pre-order. That being said November 17th is right around the corner.

Mine arrived. It's in 10-day-waiting-period jail at the moment, but I got to run the bolt for a bit. Feels good. Definitely different compared to two-lug peers. Bolt lift is a little stiffer, but snaps open/shut. DLC treatment is nice. Fit/finish is good. Will be a long while before I actually build the complete rifle as I have a LPA Fuzion build in the works, but the Zeus seems solid.

Finally got my action after 11 months. Feels solid, the DLC is nice but not as nice as the Defiance deluxe DLC. Bolt lift is quite different of course but it's not much more than my Defiance and it's quite a bit faster than my 90 degree actiosn. I like how the bolt close it's nicer than my Defiance, Zermatt and LP.

Fit and finish is good but there is some edge on the bolt handle that could had more chamfer. I don't like the bolt handle with the multi-face.

Picked up a Zeus earlier this week. Seems like a pretty solid action, I really like the threadded trigger pins and the bolt stop/release. The feeling of the bolt closing seems slicker then my LP Fuzion, but that might just be because its a 60° vs a 90°, but I think the overall smoothness and light bolt lift of the Fuzion is a winner for me. I'm probably going to pass it on to another shooter and buy another Fuzion.

The Zeus bolt close is the smoothest and fastest I’ve felt from any action I’ve owned or shot but their bolt lift will never beat a 90*. The Zeus offers many nice features and once broken in and used a bit the bolt lift will feel great! It’s not as light as my kelbly or impact, and I’m in the midst of ordering a lone peak to try but the Zeus is definitely one of my favourites!

Data point, I’m coming up on 10 months for a LH. Hopefully soon..

I've done a fair bit of dry fire with it and the DFAT. Just had an old barrel held in the barrel channel with tape for weight, looked a little mad max haha. Clipped into my tripod I think it was quicker to cycle then my fuzion, but on a bag I feel like it was equal and maybe a tad slower with the opening/cocking upsetting the cant of my rifle and having to bring it back level. It has broken in noticeably, but that single finger bolt lift of the fuzion is really hard to beat for me.

Fair enough, I guess that’s why there’s plenty of options out there. I’ll hopefully find that out about the fuzion here in the coming weeks.

For my 60* it’s by far the terminus that is my favourite. I love all the features, the looks and the feel. For the 90* actions it’s a toss up between the kelbly and the impact.

What's the obsession with fast bolt open/close? I've never been shooting and thought, "Damn I wish I could go faster. This action is really holding me up." If anything, I intentionally try to slow myself down.

Its not really a big deal, I think, just something I noticed. I like the lighter lift as it disrupts my sight picture less and doesn't mess with my cant as much. I bought a Zues more or less to see how I liked it compared to my fuzion, as its been the only 3 lug outside of a Sako that I've owned, I wanted something to compare and see how I felt about it.

I love my Zues. It just feels nice with the short compact throw. I also like that the 60* bolt gives my hand more room around my scope when working the bolt.
This. When it comes to hunting I like being able to have a fixed comb without the weight of adjustment. I also like SFP scopes which I tend to have at max magnification a lot, even if just in load development. If you have a throw lever on a scope, with 90 degree bolt, you either have your scope up high, or have to move the throw lever back before you run the bolt.

Same. I wasn't calling you out specifically, it's just something many people talk about with regard to choosing an action. I have a Fuzion as well. Currently waiting for a stock to get finished before the rifle is fully built. And the Zeus is my first 3-lug as well.

The fastest PRS shooters run their bolts slow and smoothly.

You don't make up time by running a bolt quickly, and you are more likely to induce errors.

Ended up with one of these to play with. No idea what Im gonna do with it, but we will see. Can always sit in the safe for a rainy day.

I am guessing this has to be a record for the skills stage and Francis runs an Impact.

Picked up my action today and it looks great. I have two Manners EH1’s cut for Impact 787s. The area around the recoil lug inlet is a little to tight for the action, but I also tried a 787 I had and it was tight as well, on both stocks. Both actions sat high at the recoil lug area. Looking at the stocks it looked like manners has the inlet a hair off center and a hair to tight, even for the action it was cut for. I’m sure that’s an easy fix for a smith. And in case your wondering, beside the snug fit at the recoil lug a terminus fits really well in a manners cut for an Impact.

Call me newb, but what’s a lug nut?

I picked up my Terminus action today. It was approximately 10 months lead time, ordered direct from Terminus. The quality seems fantastic.

Finally had a chance to really give mine a once over. I notice the finish on the bolt and the action don't match. My action is grey. The bolt is black. Kinda weird but whatever.

That might explain it but I didn't know that. I thought everything was DLC...
Both are dlc. The receiver is hardened steel. The bolt is chrome-moly. Obviously they won’t look the same because they are different materials. Mine is pretty close though but I’d imagine there will always be variation

What are the bolt shroud, bolt handle, and cocking piece made of? My guess is the bolt and action were DLC treated in different batches. And that is why there is a discrepancy. But sure... maybe it's because of the different materials? But looking at photos of other actions, I don't see the same thing.
