Avoid Palmetto State Armory

Actually it's more like a $40,000 to $50,000 insurance policy.
Two of his 'Parts kits' missing from order and two more missing parts (FCG?), loss valued at about $200.
So these were probably NOT full build kits with receivers, whew :)
No FFL required, just small parts and mags.
Still have to buy or machine a PILE of lower receivers, upper receivers/barrels/forearms.
What kind of sights?

To put together 9 minute ARs.
Pretty smart guy.

$20k in lower part kits and ammo to put in boxes if needed along with water filters and ..., a few things come to mind; Foremost, I would not advertise that I had this much armament on hand because it would take a lot of claimed boating accidents to claim I no longer had stuff that I notified to the world I had. Second given the cost of uppers and ammo will easily cost more than the associated lower and magazines how much do you have in uppers/ammo to make a functional arsenal.

This actually happens to me all the time but it's mainly because I have so much money to spend I just don't care to check a $20k order for months on end. Last time I ordered $100k from Cheaper Than Dirt for my new Barrett PRS Creedmoor Operator Rifles that I personally build in my parents garage they shorted me 2 Quigley Ford scopes, 7 magpul magazine clips, and 4 Punisher AR lowers. Well I was furious... I immediately jumped on tacticaldouchebag.com and bashed the fuck outta those assholes to all my operator friends I play online with. What kinda company doesn't bend over and cater to a high end rifle builder like myself...? Assholes that's who, I spend my money elsewhere now but they probably lost the best rifle builder in the United States and I'm the one laughing now.
I thought Felipe was back for a minute

kinda curious about what the ammo stash looks like myself ... commensurate with the $20K in matching small parts purchase.

I take it this ammo did not perform?
I had huge velocity swings. Bullet seating was all over the place and even hit pressure. Blew out a primer.

Apparently so. Doesn't mean they shouldn't have done the right thing and send the missing parts. 1% of the order.
They would have IF YOU had done the right thing and checked your order in a timely fashion.

Their policy is plainly stated and they would have taken care of you had you got off your butt and done your part. So stop whining about how they screwed you when it was you own inaction that was the cause of your situation.

his inaction didn't cause the situation, his inaction exacerbated the issue

smarten up and stop making excuses for shitty qc

buy psa at your own peril OP. You should know better

Not making any excuses.

PSA shorted his order and if he had bothered to check it in a timely fashion there would have been no issue to complain about as PSA would have made him whole.

Josiah from PSA has attempted to reach out to you on ARF and has been active in yout post.

He tried to reach out on 3/15, and after making the post, you ghosted out.

He also confirmed you ghosted on him as well, 100% confirming that you sir, are a Troll.

Quit shitting on folks buisness because your life sucks.

If their was 1% credibility to your bitching, you would have responded.

quickly became an 8-page ARF thread (so far) overnight, and got moved to ARF GD.

🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

I bought an EXPS2 from PSA when they had the EOTech sale. They ran out of EXPS2 stock and sent me an email asking if it was okay to replace with an EXPS3. They sent me an EXPS3 for less than $450. I've spent plenty of money with them as well and they've never proven to be anything less than exceptional.

LoL...

I Think PSA has all the issues associated with bargain basement pricing, but I think they serve a role in the market. I think as long the end user understands that they may to put a level of energy into their rifle in the event that PSA has a case of the Mondays, they may be able to save a few hundred dollars.

In that 600 to 800 dollar price point, its all pretty much the same shit, with the value prop for PSA being that they use of FN barrels vs what ever sewer pipe other low price point manufactures throw on.

Personally, I would encourage anybody getting into AR's to get a least one solid rifle up and running before fucking around with fucking around with unknowns.

All ball busting aside, I have no problems with PSA rifle kits and regularly suggest them to friends and acquaintances who want an ar "just in case".
The 16" middy with magpul furniture, sights, and the better trigger (EPT) is perfectly serviceable as is. Add a yellow JP trigger spring set and flat wire buffer spring for little extra money and all the better. I understand they will likely never be proficient, and after some mag dumps it will live in a closet, but having something you can spray and pray with in a McCloskey type situation is a far sight better than getting butchered in your home by savages and I imagine that to be the scenario they envision when contemplating needing one as an insurance policy.

That said, I still don't get the 20k worth unless making rifles to flip for profit. Otherwise 100 "just in case" rifles is less than useless and only serves to arm the enemy you're up against. Making an armory in the church basement? Then maybe...

I can't fathom why anyone buys psa, why? there is so much better, so many more, and more robust out there so WHY!

you couldn't give me anything from them.

Build your own before going psa
For that entry level price point who would you use instead? Complete lowers for under $130, uppers for a bit more. Certainly if one had 3x the amount there's plenty of better options, but this is more like getting them in the door. As for DIY builds, there's a lot to be said for customization and picking out the best parts for the job, but for a first timer? IMO better to start out with one pre-built, run it a bit and then see about picking another together. the LEGOs comments are nice, but for s first-timer than can't find the "any key" and thinks YouTube makes him an armourer might be in for a shock come range time.

I'd pass this along to save everyone else the hassle I went through.

I bought almost $20,000 worth of gear from PSA in the last few months. Now it took me a few months to get all of the gear together from other companies to start building these rifles.

When I opened all of the PSA boxed and inventoried what I have, 2 complete kits were missing. Additionally, 2 of the lower parts kits that were there, were also missing parts.

Now that isn't that bad by itself, because this was a large order and I'm an understanding person. What is bad is that they wouldn't replace the missing parts. I felt like they believed I was lying to scam some free parts or something. I tried to explain that this was only a little over $200 to them on a very large order and they explained to me that I needed to read the "policies" page. Since the order is older than 30 days, there is "nothing they can do."

There is, in fact, something they can do, they just choose not to.

Anywho, I wanted to post this to help others avoid the same experience. Open your package immediately or buy from someone else. I recommend the latter.

The fine print so to speak is where any and all companies will get you. You know... Just my thoughts here.. but if you're going to spend that kind of money on one company don't you think you're kind of have an obligation to yourself to read the fine print before really dropping that kind of coin?

I don't get it twisted.. just the fact that you spent that kind of money with them.. maybe just maybe they should extend at the very least the courtesy to fix whatever is wrong. But again... It's that goddamn fine print every time.
I got screwed over by guns.com when I bought one of their supposed certified used handguns. Two days after I got it I took a closer look at it and noticed that the cerakote finish was peeling right off of it. I hit them up and they wouldn't even uphold their own policies.

As far as PSA is concerned.. I've got about 10 grand in them so far. That's over the course of a few years. I've not had a single problem as of yet with them.

I can definitely appreciate where you're coming from though. And I think more people should be aware of what you've experienced with them.

I do hope that if they didn't fix what was wrong that you told them to stick it up their ass and would no longer be doing business with them. Please tell me you said that to them in so many words.

Trolling this BS all over.

Josiah (PSA) offered to make this right if you would PM him the details.

troll
Someone brought this one back from the dead. I haven’t checked in for a bit, but just noticed this. You must work for them. They never reached out. Wouldn’t care if they did. They refused to make it right when I called them. It is not about the money. It’s about the way they screwed me over and insinuated I was lying.

Troll.

Oh hell no I don't work for them. I have my own business. But I certainly don't work for them.

All I said was if you had spent that kind of money on one website it probably would have been a wise idea to read whatever fine print bullshit they had. And then I also stated that do to the amount of money that you've spent they should at least extend the courtesy of fixing what they screwed up.

The only reason that I have given them so much business is because the prices for so much is considerably lower than pretty much any other website.

They could go out of business tomorrow and it wouldn't hurt my feelings any.

I bought 1 lower from PSA, no problem. I ordered a new Vortex optic, didn't really need it, but the sale price was too good. I got the tracking info and watched it never move from their warehouse after a few weeks, I'm guessing they got tired of hearing me ask questions and refunded my money after about a month. I haven't dealt with them since.
OP, if you're buying such volume you ought to check out B. Kings Firearms, they sell in bulk lots. I bought my last two builder sets (Their MOD-0) from them, nice quality, so far as I can tell, I got to learn about thermal fitting barrels!

many folks looking for AKs would rather have the $$ go to a US owned an operated company than a foreign one via importer in the AK sphere

similarly, the KS-47 is a unique design in its level of compatibility with every AR part that isn't the upper, lower and carrier. CMMG's design has some sizing quirks, and the MCI option has reliability issues.

Sure as far as ARs go they're bottom barrel, but that was the intent from the start, they set themselves the goal of being the hi-point of modern sporting rifles, so that even those of the least means can afford to exercise their second amendment rights. For the most part the rifles work, and the customer service generally has things covered in the event someone was having a bad day.

So I won't knock them for sticking to a goal of trying to make it so the gov can't price you out of your rights.

I honestly don’t question the 20,000 depending on what he bought 20,000 don’t go all that far I have spent as much as 13,000 what I do question is why it wasn’t open immediately when you invest that kind of money

Most shipping companies weigh their shipments to make sure everything is there. It help to prevent theft and shorting on an order. The weight has to be very close to be able to ship. One company I know actually has a camera and records every shipment as it is packed and scanned to be put into the box plus it is weighed. There is no way a shipment gets out that is over or under what it is supposed to be. maybe you need to ask PSA for a weight on the total order and if the weight matches what it is supposed to be.

I know I have seen and been told to not call the CS at PSA. Over at ar15.com go to the PSA section in the industry forum and ask there. One of the head PSA dudes is on there every day and handles all the problems there and in PM's. Might want to check there

he's on a few boards and they have others on other boards such as reddit etc.

Perhaps it was the OP's attitude when initiating contact that created all of these problems.

Acting like an asshole with CS can make them not want to deal with you, VS acting in a civil manner and not being confrontational.

It can make a difference.

I think PSA is doing us a good service as freedom loving Americans.

As of beginning of 2024 PSA makes roughly 2,000 AR uppers per day and about 1,000 lowers.
Not counting all the other stuff they make and also resell other brands, at really good prices.
Now he built an ammo plant from scratch, so that they as well as Americans can have a source of ammo.

The ceo is a military vet that wants as many rifles in the hands of Americans as possible. I kinda like it.

Again, I don’t have any PSA rifles, but personally know of a couple dozen that have thousands of rounds fired, almost without any problems.
The only problems I have seen were two gas blocks came loose and a gas key came loose. Easy fix.

seems like in percentages they have a pretty low failure rate?
