We still don't know when he got the gun. Supposedly it was this year but was that before or after his episode at West Point?
 
CBS News has learned the gunman used a semiautomatic assault rifle with an extended magazine and a scope. It's also not clear how or when he got the gun or guns used in the shootings.

The weapon found in Card's car was legally purchased, a law enforcement source confirmed to CBS News Friday as investigators continued to trace shell casings found at both scenes. Investigators are also aware that Card allegedly had access to several other guns, according to two law enforcement sources. One of those sources said the number of firearms could potentially be in the double digits.

The newspaper delivery people that got their truck shot up while looking for that Dorner guy was on my grandparents street in Torrance. Super quiet neighborhood where nothing ever happens. Why Torrance PD thought he was the guy was odd to me. It was mostly retired people and families. I think it was a case of see Blue Tacoma, open fire.

Or they are incompetent boobs. That happens more often than not. I am not against conspiracy theories. They are theories of something that involved two or more people to accomplish. But sometimes, they are just dumb.

For example, the Vegas shooting in 2017. The most plausible theory heard came from the hacker group anonymous. Claiming to have hacked the email of the Clarke County SO, they intercepted emails back and forth from the FBI. By the way, on the night in question, freshly after the shooting, people still running down the street, the sheriff shows up and a news team is there to take his statement. Standing behind and on his left within arm's reach is an FBI agent boring a hole in the back of his head.

Anyway, the TLDR is that Paddock was an FBI asset and this was a sting to catch Al Qaeda jihadis trying to buy guns in USA. A two-fer, ban some guns, continue the need for the GWOT. The theory is that the jihadis determined it was a set-up. So, they go to the meeting and kill Paddock and then start shooting people. This does not explain the auditory evidence of a second shooter posted at either the catholic church or the construction site. So, they kill Paddock and bust a window and start shooting.

The rest of the song and dance is the FBI trying to clean up their cluster. Idiots. Or masterminds. More often, idiots.

Don't know if this was covered here but he did in fact hide a Bayliner and a jet ski somewhere so he planned out his escape quite a bit. He's not going to be easy to find and if he has any sense at all is in a much different area by now
