During the Rona B.S. I was walking into a convenience store/ gas station. I saw a Sheriff deputy patrol car outside. They had the mask signs up, but I ignored them. When I got inside I recognized the deputy. He and I have known each other since we were 10 years old, at the time 30 years ago. We graduated high school together in the same class. Standing about six feet behind him, I said "Josh!" He turned around, shook my hand and asked how the hell are you? Then the next words out of his mouth were "I'm not wearing a damn mask!" I said I wasn't either. Then I looked at the manager of the store and said thank you for not being militant about the masks. They don't work, and lots of us will never wear them. And this Sheriff deputy does not have a law to enforce, because it is not a law. Josh said "nope, it's all B.S."

So, I might get in. I am about to turn 60 so good health is iffy at this stage of life. I mean, I just had an annual screening for lung cancer ( I smoked cigarettes from May 25, 1982 to Jan 29, 2018, 36 years) and a clear result on the low dose CRT.
No prostate cancer. But I do have high BP, high cholesterol, Meniere's (vertigo but treated), diverticulitis.

Qualifications, no military experience but I am a smart ass electrician from way back. So, they would probably make me a mechanic or quartermaster assistant.

Does no one remember when Obama said he would organize a Civilian Force equal to the Military? Homeland Security. They have no duty to the People, nor the Constitution, they only served the President. They have heavy (relatively) armor, and vehicles and an anything goes ROE.

The Nation Guard has some pretty heavy stuff around here...armor, Attack helicopters,...they also crashed one Apache on a training mission a few months back, saw the crash video...killed all aboard. How competent are any of these people? We'll see, if push comes to shove... not concerned about it at this point.
None of that armor ever won a war since WW2, against all the "inferior" nations it was put up against, since then...primitive soles, made mines, roadside bombs, from unexploded ordinance, RPGs, all seems to work, plus now Drones that are armed, to deliver the package to the target. Remember the government can not handle a prolonged war, they run out of money.
