. I’ve never seen one fail on our team and we trained constantly(outside of deployments), ran the piss out of em and weren’t soft on em.
Here is your fail on a harris. I still use them and they replaced the part under warranty no questions.

You guys tell me what the hell I'm looking at, because the longer I look at the video screenshot, the more confused I get. As far as I can tell, it's an AT-X(C) MIL with MLOK. It has the full length ARCA bottom, along with MLOK in the mag well side, and appears to be a short action. But it has an AXSR Buttstock and grip angle. The more I stare at it the more it bugs the hell out of me.

Top photo is the AT-X(C) MIL with Keyslot. Note the overpressure hole, the angles around the extraction port, the angled cuts, etc. Then, below that is the ASR and AXSR for reference.

If the owner is on here (Looking at you, Hat Creek Training), and you can post some detailed photos of your rig plus any stories behind it, we would all appreciate it. Because if this rifle is a model that actually exists, I want one.
In official config options it now lists MLOK as an option for the MIL/LE version of the AT-XC. I am assuming here, but T&E are underway for this version at Hat Creek. AINA did pass around 13 pre-production models of the AT-X a few years ago for T&E/Demos.

Would great to hear the official word if this config will be available for commercial users.

That’s definitely a failure 😬. Never say never I guess. I just didn’t see it in my time. They impressed me enough that I still use em mostly. Except for on my AI. I will say I plan on trying one of the cool competition oriented bipods now that I can pick/use my own stuff.

I've had that exact same failure on a Harris, and I've had a CAL fail due to improper heat treatment on the notched plate causing the notch for the 90 degree position to round-over on one side, so that leg would fold back when the bipod was loaded (manufacturing defect). I'm not even running my stuff hard either - all just square range shooting. In both cases the manufacturers repaired/replaced without hesitation. I still run both types, prefer the CAL but Harris has it's place. My biggest gripe with the Harris is the rotating legs that roll away from you on a smooth, firm surface.

What exactly happened? In the mounting plate separating from the legs? Yep the Harris isn’t great on roof tops that’s for sure and the legs would roll. We’d carry nylon webbing/carabiners to anchor to our packs and apply back pressure in situations like that (hard surfaces/slopes)To be fair we were shooting 20lb AI’s that didn’t move a lot period. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying theyre the end all… just pretty good, pretty light, pretty durable IME, and CHEAP compared to others. My experience is limited to my world.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me, once upon a time. Rounded off the edge so the leg wouldn’t stay put. Easy repair and good CS, though.

Yes, my CAL was exactly like that, and my Harris failure was exactly like the one pictured up above. The CAL was due to some heat treatment out of spec from a supplier. Yours is likely the same.

Fwiw I had similar failure of both a Harris and an atlas. I was practicing a lot for PRS and put a sheet of astroturf in the yard so I wouldn’t get muddy. The bipods gripped it a lot and it held unlike the dirt that gives a little. So I was putting a lot of strain on the bipods and they eventually cracked. I was pretty surprised when it happened and the muzzle went right into the dirt. I think I could have practiced on dirt for 20 years and never broken either.

I mean imagine making mlok mil/le only option. If this holds true, what a cuck thing to do…

@carbonbased idk how to take stills from video but there’s a split second where you can see the gun from the left side, and the covered suppressor.

The sound suppression in that video is mind boggling to me. It sounds like my 9mm subsonic pcc with mic behind the shooter. Idk how they didn’t get supersonic crack bouncing off all the walls and ceiling. The flash bangs were quiet too. Maybe they edited it?

From a different still I worked out the rough view the sniper probably saw. I was trying to visualize the shot but they blurred stuff and the vid is low quality. I think I got it right.

Short-range high-stakes wobbly “tripod” shooting…yikes! Nice shot.

Looking closer at the shot and it is even harder than I thought.

General presentation of subject to sniper earlier.

About 11 seconds before the shot at 1:31, subject bobs head up high. A mistake.

He lowers his head from view, bobs it around, and 11 seconds later, blammo (see prev post for view).

I’d love to know what scope he was using, how close it focuses, and what the low end of the mag range is and if it’s ffp or sfp.
Speculate he prob thought he was clear of the monitor and got lucky. I’d take some risky shots but barrier penetration with hostage on either side is way past gas station sushi
I'd say given they said they train it that it was deliberate...

I guess setting up with something in between the shooter and the subject stops the subject seeing what's about to happen.. a modern computer monitor really isn't that thick so wont deflect the bullet much if at all.. quite clever really.

I think he got lucky.

1. Most cops don't train, even swat guys.

2. Who's going to go on TV & say, 'Yeah we really never train for a scenario like this so I was totally sweating this shot!'

Good for him though. I had a first round impact at around 1,000 yards in 15ish mph winds that wow'd my friends... I saw no reason to inform them that I got pretty lucky, haha!

The question is why would you want to, and for what calibre?

It’s still up in the air if AI have fixed their own AI homemade barrels. So why take the risk, when you can have a lovely Bartlein one?

If you only wanted a .308 barrel I’m sure Sporting Services have a stock of older, but brilliant LW made barrels which used to come on all their guns years ago.
Thank you so much, was struggling to order a new barrel since my old AW Lothar Walther shoots that good. Always wanted a 26" barrel instead of my 24" though.

Just received a mail from sporting services uk, i will get two original PSG 90 LW barrels in 26" threaded M18 in 308. They sent me a picture aswell. Great customer service indeed.

Happy days!
