Its ass heavy for sure. Locks up tight on that Sawtooth plate though, so not bad on a tripod. I'll have to weigh the whole shebang later. And yes, had to use the 13" forend to clear the 16.5 barrel ok.
Case is a Pelican 1510 I just plucked the foam on. It fits everything suprisingly well. I can't put a wmlrf on and leave it mounted though. I'm messing with a backpack option for that.

I see Euro sells a 10” handguard… wonder how it’d look. certainly wouldnt help the ass heaviness but they were never barricade guns lol. Was thinking about doing something similar for an nrl hunter legal build
I think the 16" hanguard 20" barrel configuration is really pretty ideal for general 308 use. But I was trying to stay close to the original AX Covert configuration.

Cant seem to find the correct spec. Guess it is one with the adapter for a sling swivel stud?

The temptation is strong.There is a sweet trg available locally. I am tempted to trade something for it. But not sure what. One for one it be a AE MKii or an lmt mws.
Yep if trgs had prefits stocked and were a little faster for barrel changes it would be money

Here's a new one...
I was cleaning my AT and noticed that the emblem that fits into the side skin was gone. Being that it can't fall out when the skin is on, it must have dropped out when I was installing the comp trigger.

My TacOps has a 21" Kreiger and I get about 2525 fps with M118LR as measured by the Xero
So I bought this ammo thinking it said ELD-M and didn't even notice the picture of the deer, LOL. But what a surprise. The 130 Bergers shot well too.
My clone m118lr is getting 2560 out of my 19.75"
Edit: for comparison. My 25" m40a5 gets 2692.

I think I’ll run the numbers, but can already see the mobility gain will outweigh the velocity Loss with a PRS 1 MOD suppressor brake.
Where did you find a mountain any where near Ames ?
One more data point. 16" gas gun spits the same ammo at 2505.
Not a huge loss of fps from 16 to 20 if mobility is your goal.

I put that can on my ATX chassis rig the other day and it was comically front heavy. I have a Tbac Magnus on its way that I plan on using at some local and silencer required 2 day matches this year.
I'll definitely be running that Hybrid silencer setup when I make it out to one of the ELR steel matches at Raton this season.

What caliber are you running in ELR and how does the hybrid perform in said caliber? I presume by Hybrid you mean the SiCo hybrid.

I am definitely not experienced in the ELR match arena (only one local match so far), I shoot PRS matches and some 2 gun. I am shooting 300 PRC generally the 225 eldm at 2950 fps, but have also tried the 230 A tips. I am fairly close to Raton, so I am hoping to shoot a serious match this year if I can convince one of my buddies to be my spotter.
That SiCo Hybrid was my first can and I enjoy using it on gas guns. With the standard end cap I found it to be fairly unpleasant on the 300 prc barrel. The new addition of that RecoilX brake has breathed some new life into that can for me and improved its performance at least with that cartridge.
Just an FYI, true m118lr seems to shoot right at 2550 out of almost anything in temperate weather.
