What does “black flagged” mean in this context?

This is an active range complex aboard a military base and when Range Control cancels all training due to excessive heat danger this is called a black flag condition.

So, a great ending to a 4-year search.

A few days ago, I posted that I purchased a new LH 308 AXMC bolt body from EO. I was going to send it to Fritz for conversion to a 300WM boltface. What I didn't tell you all is that a few hours earlier, @Tack425 PM'd me that he was expecting a shipment of TWO brand new LH AXMC 300WM bolt bodies. He and I have been talking about trying to find one for three years now. I still ordered the LH 308 body as insurance since there was only one in stock. I didn't think that getting two was possible, but two days later, he sent me a photo via PM showing that he had TWO of them. He offered to sell one to me at his cost. Needless to say, I jumped on that.

Today, USPS arrived, and lo and behold, I have the holy grail.

I also have a spare LH AXMC bolt body in 308...LOL. I will keep it and sell my original to someone who is looking.

This couldn't have turned out better. The smile on my face is ear-to-ear. Goes to show what a great community we have here on the Hide.

Many thanks to @Tack425 for being an outstanding person!

^ 100% accurate. Has been that way since at least the '90's. They only cut the fun stuff though when it gets hot.

I can also promise you, that even though dudes were still dropping like flies... that 'essential activities' include basically everything as long as it fit on the training schedule. :D The last sentence leaves the door wide open as long as the CO/NCOIC wasn't a wuss.

...Something about deploying to a desert shortly thereafter or some stuff. And there were years where all you did was rotate over.

*****

I once had an E-4 infantry kid aboard MCAGCC 29 Palms (the California desert) look at us and boldly claim during training that he was a 'desert tortoise' and could make it an entire day on a single camel back of water. I enjoyed watching the Corpsman stick a thermometer into his asshole 4 hours later when he went down as a heat casualty. If he hadn't been medevac'd, I'd have made fun of him the rest of the evolution.

I already have that bolt. It came with the rifle. I have the entire set now. Just trying to figure out what caliber to buy. EO has a factory 300 WM barrel in stock. I am debating between it and waiting for a 300 PRC.

Can help. I’ve got a new AI 300PRC Blk barrel if they are hard to find for whatever reason. Haller
