I’m still loading 77gr SMK with 27gr AA2520 and 25gr N135. Speeds are right at 2900fps from an 18” and good groups, good enough for gas gun matches. Loaded a couple hundred 73gr ELDM but they disappointed me so I’ve been shooting coyotes at night with them lol.

I am running 20” barrel and bought 1000 cases to load up. If I can’t get what I want 2900 plus fps with good accuracy from Tac I will try 2520

I was really hoping N540 would get me there but no luck.

Well I already get 2900 with the 77tmk with Starline 556 brass and N540 out a of 20in tube. Defiance anTI action. No pressures. Was hoping to get at least 3050 with the NAS3 case.

Yeah I don’t care about reloading, just want to get some extra velocity on my wifes 223 hunting bolt gun. Might even make 88 eldm worth it in the 223 case.

It should certsinly meet your requirements. I suggest using hard primers, my experiments have shown that softer ones, such as federal, do not handle the pressure very well

Varget has been my "go to" powder for these spicier loads. The Viht powders did NOT like being compressed. Power Pro seemed to plateau far below where I was trying to get. Ram Tac did not get anywhere close to my sought velocity.

The bolt gun will do better with the slower N540. It will probably get you plenty of speed. I am attempting to get load that works well in 14.5,16 and 20” AR’s. I think Tac or aa2520 will be best answer for my needs. 2900 plus for 20” and stretch the 14.5 another 100 yards

TAC 25.3gr is what I settled on for my 16”

Anyone tried staball match? it’s about the right burn and usually is fine compressed.
