Sarcastic subject line, but does anyone know what in the heck is going on with this item? Midway had been shoving the expected date back and back and now the sales page just says "overdue," and I haven't noticed it at any other places with which I would entrust my CC info.

It's readily available, several of my warehouses show several hundred of them in stock.

Try "entrusting" a new company with your super private and valuable credit card info.

Seriously though, every major national bank has an excellent fraud division now, so go ahead and splurge.

I was being a bit sarcastic. If I don't see it @ Midway or Brownells I'd be surprised to find it elsewhere, and a few of the places that say that they're in stock are known to be "problematic" or worse. Wanna be a mensch? PM me some info about who you think has it in, and I'll deal with the CC issues should they arise.

Re: Burris FF III 3 MOA: Should I wait for the IV?

I've had one for at least 2 months, ordered it from SWFA.com, it was in stock and shipped same day.

Call Brady at SWFA.com or pm SWFA here and get the scoop and what's in stock, but I can tell you for sure they are out there.

Ok...I lied, mine is 8moa, not sure about 3moa but SWFA was one of the first to get the 8's so I'd still call them about the 3 moa ones.

Re: Burris FF III 3 MOA: Should I wait for the IV?

I got mine, a 3MOA model, from Midway and used a 10% off code.

It is a definite improvement from the II in many ways.

I am a little disappointed it uses CR1632 instead of CR2032. I have a lot of CR2032 devices so I have plenty of spares for that. Now I need to manage yet another battery type.

Also, it came with some sort of snap-on see-through plastic enclosure that isn't advertised nor mentioned in the manual.

Re: Burris FF III 3 MOA: Should I wait for the IV?

Well, it came in today from SWFA, and I have to say that it was a little frustrating. The battery cover has an attached o-ring that makes it so that the cover can't be closed evenly and securely. It'll bite on the one side of the thread, towards the glass, but not on the other, towards the rear, sort of like an ornery manhole cover. Burris acknowledged the issue and had new covers made with a reduced-depth o-ring. I'll wait until they get here and probably order a Volquartsen kit for the 22/45 Mark III where it's going to reside.
