Here's a video I made with my iPhone shooting the SAS Reaper and Arbiter on my 16.5" 308 and 16" 5.56. The Arbiter is noticeably quieter, not sure if the sound in the video reflects that, but the reactions in the video should tell you how stark the difference in sound was. For reference, the Reaper sounds to me exactly the same as an AAC 762SDN-6, which it probably should considering their similar sizes. The Arbiter is in a class by itself for sound reduction though. The dealer stated that he found the Arbiter to be quieter than his dedicated Surefire on the 5.56. Anyway, I'm not a filmmaker but I hope the comparison helps anybody trying to decide between the two. I've got some pics of them side by side also to show the difference in length and all that, but I'll have to upload them later. The difference in weight is almost none.

Re: SAS Reaper vs Arbiter *video*

I've had an Arbiter on my 7-08 for just a couple weeks now. Its the first can I've ever heard let alone, shot. I can easily shoot without hearing protection. When I shoot steel at 100yds, the sound of the bullet hitting the steel is louder than the shot! I'm very happy with mine.

Now that iOS 6 lets me upload pics straight from my iPhone, here's a pic of the Reaper and Arbiter side by side.

You won't be disappointed with either as I have both and have shot bunches and bunches and they flat out perform against ANYTHING out there at any price. I think the reaper is the best hunting can on the market and I am really looking forward to these hitting the streets soon.

Re: SAS Reaper vs Arbiter *video*

Any idea when the Arbiter's with TOMB will be available?

Any day... SAS moved shop and they are waiting on a green light from the BATF from the change. In fact, I have not talked to Tim lately as I have been busy but they already may be going.

Re: SAS Reaper vs Arbiter *video*

Hey Rye, I have that exact gun. Hows the performance with the can going? doing any LR shooting with it? Also, was fixing to purchase a can and was going to get the AA that I can also use on my 5.56 using the AA Blackout 51 tooth. Not familiar with the Reaper brand. What is the difference b/w it and AA? Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: SAS Reaper vs Arbiter *video*

I have both the Arbiter and Reaper. They are both made by SAS (Suppressed Armament Systems).

I also have a POF P308 with 16.5 fitted with the TOMB and run both cans on it. 5" plates at 500 gets pretty boring.....

Lots! The Arbiter is all titanium and soley designed for precision. The AAC can is designed for CQB type stuff. The Arbiter is about half the weight, will have much better sound reduction, and have less POI shift, but is longer. The Reaper is a closer sized can but weighs half because its titanium as well. It's basically a shortened Arbiter, only giving up a small amount of sound reduction. Look for my post on "SAS Reaper Review"

Re: SAS Reaper vs Arbiter *video*

What is the price difference? I use AA 51 tooth blackouts on my guns. Will it attached to these? So sounds like the Reaper is the way to go? I am going to make a purchase to start the long waiting process most likely this week so I needs to make a decision. AA has a great reputation and I know they will last a while. Reaper last a while?

Call Mile High Shooting. They are the exclusive distributor for SAS. They can answer all your questions. SAS has a lifetime warranty. I am not a fan of AACs QD system at all......
