Went down to the Post Office earlier and picked up my Christmas/new job present to myself. I sold a few things to hide members earlier this fall and started buying pieces. Started with the Badger M2008 short action .308 bolt face, and the Gen 3 (i think) whiskey 3 fixed chassis/AW mag all of which i bought directly from Badger.

Barrel is a SS Kreiger #17 heavy varmint 6.5mm 1 in 8 twist, cut to 25". Its chambered in .260 Remington, and wears an APA Little Jimmy brake.

The pile of parts you see being inspected by Hairy Callahan below left my house in the middle of November, and Chad got my rifle back to me today.

Trigger is a Timney 510 Flat trigger seat at 1.5#'s

It wears an IOR 3-18 from my previous .260

Ive got some 123 Amax's some 130 VLD's a nice blue tupperwear box from Finland and about 3lbs of h4350. So hopefully tomorrow will be a range day. Hopefully more pictures to follow.

Nice looking rifle...Ive been thinking I need a build done on a Badger action for a while now. Although the 260 that Chad built for me is quite a different setup, it is a hammer. I am running a Brux 8.5" twist with 140 AMAX bullets at 2850fps.

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

Looks good.

Think you're correct about that being a Gen 3.

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

I got a Beanland built .260 rem with badger action, #17 and KRG W3.... It's a true piece of art.

congrats on a fine build.

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

I even run the same style sand sock (except mine is OD green:)

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

What color is the chassis? Sharp looking rifle.

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

Thats a great looking rifle. Seem to be the flavour of the month - Chad is putting together a M2008 + MTU Bart for me in .308, to go in a W3C!

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

Im really liking the trigger havent shot it yet but it feels great during dry fire here in my living room.

The cerakote on the chassis is Burnt Bronze, and the metal work is Sniper Grey.

This thing is heavy im estimating 19lbs, pretty sure recoil isn't going to be a factor.

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

I'm doing and almost identical build. Swap the barrel to an Obermeyer MTU in 6.5x47, and put in a Jewell trigger and an FTE brake.

im game for that ive seen a few here in the past month or so

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

Sir, what's the total weight minus scope? And do you by chance know the stock weight?

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

Nice rifle. I think the muzzle brake would look better if the end was squared off instead of tapering back that far.

W3 Stock weight - KRG website lists the stock w/o magazine at 4lbs. 10oz.

Love that stick! Enjoy!

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

I think it weighs in right between 16 and 17 lbs if i do the math right, i dont own a scale other than for powder. I also thought KRG listed the weight right under 5#'s

I actually picked the little jimmy brake over the little bastard brake because the front tapers. I really like the look of the tapered front of this brake. And performance wise, this brake is ridiculously good. It turns ALL recoil into noise. It actually kind of gives me a headache from the concussion occasionally lol.

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

I have the same trigger.. Mine is set around 2lbs.. Anything lighter would result in the striker dropping with a slam to the buttstock..

I like the trigger though, overall it is very crisp, and has a very good overall feel to it.

Congrats on the amazing rig!

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

Very nice looking rifle! I like the Whiskey 3 chassis especially with that color.

Re: Badger,Whiskey 3,C.Dixon

Nice rifle. I also have a Badger in a W3. Unbelievable setup... Sick ergonomics. I have a feeling you just got your new favorite shooter.
