I went yesterday to Palo Alto and shot in a practice f class match. Load was 140 vld, 42.4 h4350 , hornady brass, fgm210m at 2.140 to ogive. Rifle was a GA Precision Crusader with a 27" bartlein 8.5 twist. The first two relays I shot a 194 with 13x's and a 193 w/ 13 x's. third relay KILLED me as I shot a 193 with 3 x's but shot 1 in the 8 ring. Only 8 shot all day. That 8 cost me the match but you live and learn.
Conditions were 14 ft asl, 50 degrees to 62 degrees. 78 % humidity with some killer winds at 10-15 shifting. 11.93 moa come up from a 105 yard zero. Running at 2885 fps. I was happy as this was my first match with the rifle. I think I'm gonna look at the 144 fmjbt lapua. BC is .635? It's a good bit higher and if they shoot it ought to save me a few points. We'll see

You might give 140 hybrids a try also. They have slightly higher BC than the VLDs but are a lot less picky about the jump. My rifle likes VLDs but the hybrids are amazing out of it.

I hear ya. But I can't find them. My rifle is shooting like this with the 140 vld. 5 shot groups at 100. So it'll be ok
