What was the result of the UNSC meeting to remove Roger Stiller as the Range Officer? Can we shoot steel out there now?

The result is the Club lied to me and told me if I rescinded my signature from the petition then Stiller would apologize. Instead he accepted everyone else's apology apparently and didn't do shit but the Committee rescinded the motion anyways. And I almost got in a fist fight with one of the board members outside since I wasn't exactly on board with letting Stiller get a pass and one of the committee thought they could get up in my face and swear at me which they found to NOT be the case. I'm debating whether I should bother filing new charges against him for things that were never brought up and against the committee as a whole for not abiding by the agreement set forth... or if I just say screw them since they don't honor agreements anyways...

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

Regarding the UNSC Stiller issue: If they won't play by their own rules, maybe we should just set up some steel and go for it. Apparently the rules are arbitrary. If he's there and doesn't like it, tell him to file a complaint....

RE: Practical Rifle match at Upper Nisqually on 16 February.

The match is full. I'm listing all the people who have contacted me and put in reservations for a spot. If I missed someone who has asked for a spot, just get in touch with me, and I'll figure out a way to get you in...above all, don't worry.

These are the people with confirmed spots. Hopefully, I got all the "handles" right. If not, I'm pretty sure someone will let me know.

After reading that bill that Broker posted, I need a distraction. I sure hope they aren't seriously considering letting that out of commmittee.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

Alan, unfortunately I won't be able to make it, I dropped both them off this morning for theory first real paint job.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

I might come down and watch the match.

Also in regards to SB5737, I posted contact info for all the WA state senators. I have left 20 voicemails...it doesn't take long to call them all...a few a night and we will get the message out that we don't want this.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

In an hour and a half I was able to call every single Washington State Senator and leave a message. Just a little bit of time on everybody's part can go along way...Pick up the phone, the only negative action, is inaction.

Bring your gun if you'd like. I can always sit out and RO so more people can get on the line..

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

I'll sit out too if it means more other people can shoot. Lt us know if you want to come out.

With MJH not coming that is one open spot, and with broker and I out, we can get 3 other people in. I would enjoy having that many shooters come out.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

Looking to do some custom cerakoting and AR15 upper receiver assembly here in Seattle. Do you guys have recommendations for a good gunsmith? Am thinking of having West Coast Armory do it but wondering if there's a better choice out there. Thanks!

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

The only Cerakoting I had done was by a custom finishes place outside of Sherwood, Oregon. They do teflon, Cerakote, and just about any kind of coating you can think of. They specialize in firearms, cars, and motorcycle parts. I'm sure there has to be someone closer to Seattle than that.

If nothing else, Cerakote can tell you who is in your area and is authorized to apply their product and do so according to company requirements. Just because someone has a spray gun doesn't mean that the job they do is in accordance with Cerakote's application guidelines.

I have a spray gun, and compressor, but I would never do anyone else's gear. To do Cerakote right, the really tough finish is actually a baked on ceramic like coating.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

Gundude, no sure if you have called wca, but a friend told me yesterday they are running a little behind. If you are looking ti just barrel an upper, I got the tools and you are more than welcome to use them, its really not that hard when you use good parts. As for cerakote, I only know of few finishers up around here, Jason that does work for Benchmark, Dave at Southridge (uses KG ) and there's another guy around Burien as well.

GunDudeUSA message ARP here on the Hide. He does great work.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

PM short-bus. I have personal experience working with him. Jeremy did a FANTASTIC job on my GAP rifle. He has a website you can visit to see his work. I believe you will find his prices good and his work amazing.

GAP recommend short-bus to me. He does most if not all of the custom work for Manners stocks (works there). A great guy.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

Had a good turnout at the monthly match today. Great conversation, new shooting positions, and a relaxed match. The newcomers reigned supreme taking 1st, 3rd, and a 3-way tie for 3rd. I'm looking forward to next month and some new shots including using the back of Kevin's truck lol...

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

Alan and I have a few good ideas for my truck, it should be interesting and fun.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

Great time shooting today at the UNSC. Not a single shot from the conventional prone position (humbling). I've been calling most of the local shops and everyone is out of Varget powder. If you guys know of anybody with Varget for sale please let me know. Thanks.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

With the way some of the new shooters performed yesterday, the thought that came to mind was: If those fellows are representative of what our tax dollars are buying, I am damned impressed, with the return.

To a man, ALL the new shooters were fine people. I hope they come out to shoot again.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

The Feb match at Upper Nisqually was alot of fun. It was also a wet one. But the weather tests you and your equipment. I brought a long time friend and shooting buddy with me. We sharred one of my rifles, as his has been on order for a long time. I'm sure everyone know what that is like.

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

Great match with plenty of good competition.
Once again I learned that no matter how much you practice dry firing unsupported it really doesn't necessarily mean it will translate to points at a match lol.

Nice pictures Silverbullet and it was great seeing your friend out there for the first time, Hope he had a blast and comes again.

Here's some edited video of the match left out many of the misses to make us look way better than we are
wink.gif
Also its a link only video and no "personnel down range" signs we're put in harms way

That would explain why I'm hardly in any of the video and the portion I am in makes me wonder why the fuck I was dialing when I didn't dial any of the other stages really...

And WTF was I doing when I shot off the cooler? Talk about awkward... lol

Re: Puget Sound Area Shooter's Group

Good stuff, guys. I like how you mixed it up with positions and barricades. Broker has been trying to talk me in to coming to one of these. I was hearing a lot of impacts in the videos; I'll have to step my game up before considering.

Dude really? My wife told me to tell you the pity bus left already...

Don't let this guy fool you all. He's a damn good shooter and he knows it. I have no doubts he'd rock it out if I can ever get him out of his cave...

Lol, the previous statements were all meant in encouragement. I know that I rock. With such a superior genetic gene pool it's really hard not to be amazing. Was that better for you guys?

All in good fun.

Semper Fi.

( however my wife often thinks I just got off the short bus. Maybe the nest time I get a colonoscopy I can get the doctor to give me a note assuring her that my head was NOT found up there.)

Dear Sportsmen,

Announced just this morning -
SB 5831 regarding DOUBLE TAXATION on clay targets will be heard in the Senate Ways and Means Committee Tuesday, February 26 at 1:30 p.m., Senate Hearing Room 4 in the John A Cherberg Building on the capital campus. Your attendance is highly advisable if possible.

This hearing is the opportunity to give testimony to senators on that committee, explaining in open hearing what’s going on with this double taxation and your reasons to support SB 5831. Or to just show up, registering your support for those making the case. Filled seats in the hearing room speaks volumes.

In the meantime, it’s still important to contact Senators on the Ways and Means Committee, explaining your views, especially regarding the misnomer in the bill description that it’s simply about a tax exemption. The DOUBLE TAX aspect needs to be firmly understood because by reading the bill description it sounds as if you’re simply asking not to be taxed at all.

In any case, we can be thankful that SB 5831 has cleared the hurdle of getting a hearing. It will be heard. More power to you as you continue the case for SB 5831.

Charlie Kirry
Aide to Senator Pam Roach

I've got a short break from the sub. Is there anyone going shooting this weekend or sometime during the week? If possible, I'd like to get to a range of some sort and get my rifle sighted in beyond 25 yards.

Due to financial difficulties I'm taking a break and having to sell my rifle. I'm gonna help Alan & Kevin out with the upcoming UNSC monthly matches, but shy of that I won't be available to do any shooting until I start working again and come up with the funds to buy a rifle again. As a result I'll likely be offering up some of my gear for sale to the locals here first.

Sorry to hear that Nick, let me know if you need anything.

Hello fellow Sounders, my names Justin and I am fairly new to the whole shooting past 600 yards game. currently I have not been able to find a decent range in my area to shoot out past 600. Anywho nice to meet everyone.
For the guy looking for work not sure what your background consists of but if you have any prior LE or a military back ground i know some people hiring.

New guy checking in here. Hope to get to meet ya'll sometime soon. _Nick_, good luck with the job hunt man, been bouncing around jobs for the last three years and JUST finally got settled into a job that understands a Reservists requirements.
