P.I.G. Saddle by Shadow Tech, LLC

"It takes a Professionally Instructed Gunman to make that responsible one-shot kill."

After the success of the HOG Saddle and amazing support from fellow shooters, we have decided to unveil a product that has been in the works for some time. (patented)
The PIG Saddle is the AK47 version of our flagship product. While maintaining its durability and simplicity, this new tripod mounted rifle rest won’t hit your pocketbook like most American Made firearms products.

Features

• Weight: 1 pound
• Steel construction- to facilitate years of dependability
• Superior corrosion resistance
• Heavy duty polymer torque knob
• UV resistant pads- specifically engineered to absorb rifle recoil and reduce muzzle jump
• Steel 1/4-20 mounting threads and 3/8-16 back up threads
• One handed operation
• Manufactured in the USA

Click here for more information: P.I.G. Saddle

Currently there are a limited number of PIG Saddles available for purchase as a pre-release Sniper's Hide special.
Discount Code: (expired 10/25/2013)

I appreciate when a company is willing to make a product for different levels of use/requirements. Looks excellent.

So basically it's just a slimed down version of the HOG Saddle? What kind of weight will the PIG version hold compared to the HOG? What are the drawbacks of the PIG vs the HOG?

It weighs a little over a pound (a few ounces more than the HOG). The two main differences are the knobs (HOG is CNC machined Aluminum, the PIG is reinforced polymer), and the construction (HOG is CNC machined aluminum, PIG is stamped steel) The HOG Saddle is an overbuilt tool designed for the most extreme of circumstances. The PIG Saddle is also tough but don't be surprised if it gets damaged from being thrown out of a plane.

The PIG Saddle is 1/3 the price of the HOG. This is a huge factor to many customers. It's a no-frills product that gets the job done.

So the PIG will hold 20+ pound rifles with ease like the HOG does?

Honestly I think this is probably what the hog saddle should have been originally. I highly doubt the steel construction will give up anything to the aluminum except a smidge of weight. It's much more affordable for anyone. The color choice is better. Looks like a winner.

Yep, handles my 19lbs 300WM like a champ.

Cool. Well I have a HOG saddle and I love it but I kinda wish I would have known about this model before I got the HOG. No doubt the HOG is a beast of a machine but it is a little overkill for me and the PIG would have been a better option for me and my pocket book. Oh well though, I'll continue to use the HOG and be happy.

Misleading title - thought this was something for the wife.

Wise move, I doubt you will regret it.

If it's half as good as the HOG you'll be knee deep in orders. May have to get one for friends who like to borrow.

In fact I'm going to email this to a couple guys always asking me to bring my backup HOG coyote hunting......

Thanks,

I'd like to compare one side by side with my HOG saddle. I think what the guys are saying is correct, if it has half the quality of the HOG saddle at a third the cost you are going to have a bunch of orders on your hands. Nicely done!

I just picked one up, I can live with the cost of this version as I am sure most others will find acceptable as well. I can foresee a lot of this model being sold , thanks for introducing it and for the discount code.

Had to do it. Thank you for the Hide discount. I'm one of the many who always wanted to try out one of the HOG saddles and couldn't so it is much appreciated.

I'm loving the hog saddle! I bought it at msrp and don't regret it one bit! Keep up the good work.

Order placed! Anyone have any recommendations for good tri-pods? I'm probably looking for a similar lower-end but good enough quality model.

I'd personally mount a PIG on a Manfrotto 190XPROB with no ball-head.
You can probably find a quality tripod for less money through the brands Slik or Vanguard. Bushnell makes a decent looking tripod too but I don't have any experience with them.

I'll be buying one as soon as Washington pulls it's head out of it's collective ass and lets me go back to work. (sorry if that was political)

Love the hogsaddle and wanted to try one for a long time but couldn't justify the cost. The pigsaddle fits the bill. Just ordered mine. Thanks for the deal too!

Well done and thanks for recognizing we can't all afford all the fancy gear.. :D

This is going on my list to buy.

Order placed. Hopefully as good as the HOG. uploadfromtaptalk1381723667956.jpg

JJ, let's get one each and split the post brother... I'm definitely keen for one.

Oder placed and thanks for the discount code! I noticed that you're local to me, added bonus ;).

Ordered one on Saturday. I just got a UPS notification to expect delivery this Wednesday. That's quick. Thanks again!!!

Can the PIG be cranked down tight enough to hold the weight of the rifle like this?
