I am calling for a Christmas Truce on the Savage-Remington Front lines...

Every time I head over to the States I find it weird how everyone drinks light beer. We only drink it over here if we have to drive later :D

I only drink it to see what water tastes like, my latest acquisition today, two 4 packs of Central Waters Bourbon barrel Stout(9.5% ABV), not to be confused with Heavy varmint Bartlein barrel.:)

I guess I need to be more blunt on gun forums: the picture is of a 2003 Ford Mustang with 2010 Chevy Camaro SS drivetrain; it's getting caged and turbocharged ... Ford tough with Chevy stuff ya know.

Coming from a Chevy guy... It's like a remy action in savage stock. You just can't beat the rock!!!

Nuh, it's more like a Remington with Accutrigger, barrel nut, floating bolt head and sliding extractor; that would be a day, eh?

Maybe Remmy fanboys need to give the f*** up, because Remington sure as heck did; and finally copied superior design ... 50 years later ....

Easy to call for truce, when there ain't no ammo left. I mean, seriously, how do you recover from that ... pretend it didn't happen?

Dodge trucks
Chevy muscle cars
Rifles with barrel nuts

I was snickering through out the whole thread, but the Elton John comment pushed me into a full blo...that would be poorly termed. A really hard laugh.

And for the record, let it show that the fragile truce was destroyed by the Savage fan boys, they fired the first shot.

I like Remington. They make good decoys.
I keep them in the front of the safe, so if I get robbed, they'll take them and leave my savage rifles behind.
Not to mention that they sold out to Cerberus in 2007 because of the money they had/have to pay out from the lawsuits of the accidental injury and deaths caused by the faulty walker trigger system of the model 600/700 rifles.
But they look good, so we'll overlook that part.
Fire away (but not accidentally) Rem boys !

Did you enjoy those primers I sent you Sniper Uncle ?

Are you talking those cases that were dismissed due to no evidence? And I don't think you need any decoys to make theives leave those Savages in your safe.:D In all seriousness I prefer Remingtons, but liked the Savages I've tried.

Funny. But so true.

My dearest,

Long has the war against those scum-sucking Remmy shooters lasted. Each day has worn on me, hearing the bullets fired from their godless 700s whizzing by us. Of course they were whizzing by us because they couldn't hit what they were aiming at, but I digress. Anyway, today there was a call for truce so we might celebrate Christmas, or whatever dark holiday they enjoy over there where they shoot 2 Moa and call it good because the gun has a slightly smoother bolt throw, better aftermarket support (to fix the problems the factory gave them), and because it lacks our noble barrel nut, which those heathens consider ugly (and they call us Savages!). Anyway, it gives me hope that we may see an end to this war in my life time, and a future of crisp adjustable triggers from the factory and easy barrel swapping.

Keep me in your thoughts and see if you can find some Varget.

He might be talking about those cases. But the fact is we all usually change the shitty X Mark Pro trigger out without ever shooting it, I just had the unfortunate opportunity to adjust and shoot a stock Rem trigger on a SPS tac 308, what a POS, could not get it adjusted below 4 1/2 pounds and pulled like it was a rusty hinge on a cattle gate. You Remmy fangirls have no room to talk about Savages, at all, what a POS. I own Remmys too but it takes an additional $1 k to get one shooting as well as a $450 cheap Savage.

Oh really. I have a 2006 700 SP with no work done that will shoot better than any Savage I've seen. Lets keep it real. My new 700 with the crappy X Mark breaks at exactly 3 1/2 out of the box, by my scale. I personally do not like the new savage trigger, prefer the older one. One shouldn't paint with a broad brush.

Just relaying my experience man, a a owner and shooter of both brands as well as all the other major brands. Remingtons are POS's until you have them worked on, then they are great.

Yes, they worked great, Thanks again.

I shoot 700's too. Just ruffling some feathers.
Can't we all just get along ????
As to the evidence, Remington has settled in more than one case. Remington Model 700 | Trigger Defect | Lanier Law Firm

Chilli only has beans when you are poor and need to stretch it . Brisket and Shiner Bock from TX , and I sold my Savage to fund a new Remmy build .

Chili never has beans, if it does then it's beans not chili. I'll see your Shiner Bock and raise you a Shiner Black.

If you ask me, you'll be much happier with the Remmy!

I have to disagree on the Chili---after all, why are they called chili-beans? But that may be because I am a Damn Yankee. As far as the Shiner Bock and the Brisket, gotta say those are spot-on!

As a native Texan, I will say that most Texans say the same - "real" chili doesn't have beans. That being said, I've been to a lot of chili cook-offs, and the winning chilis ALWAYS have beans. True Texas chili does have to have beer though...
