2013 GAP Grind video. (I spent many, many hours on this, you should check it out!)

That was very cool. Really enjoyed watching it.

stupid question from a guy that has never competed before. Are distances provided for the targets at the various stages? I didn't see anyone ranging but it looks like everyone was making very quick adjustments on the scopes.

Target distances were given for all targets/stages - except for the UKD stage, which was a single target. Target was pointed out to you during stage briefing, then on the clock, you had 30 seconds (maybe it was a minute, can't remember exactly) to run up a short hill, mil/range/swag the target and take as many as 2 shots to hit it...a first round hit counting for more than a second round hit. Target was a tall rectangular plate at ~550. A fast 6mm would've hit it as long as you SWAG'd the target between 450 and 600 yards.

i don't know if i'd be excited or afraid to shot that match! great vid

That makes sense (and makes me feel a lot better!) Thanks.

Perfect Intro to what the GAP Grind 2014 will be about!!

This Year the G.A. Precision Grind will be a PRO-AM. What that means is the format will be a team match where a brand new shooter is linked up with a seasoned match shooter or Pro. Their scores will be individually maintained and the Prize table with be for New shooters only Pro's will be shooting for top 5 Cash awards and bragging rights . Team Trophy's will be given and Individual Trophies for both New Shooters (Amateur) division and Pro Division.

So we will sign up 50 New shooters who have never shot a big match like this and Pair them up with 50 top guys in the PRS and or Seasoned Match shooters with lots of experience.

3 day event

Day one will be training you work 1 on 1 with your assigned partner and he helps you out with everything you need to know about the match and helps you dope your rifle out and practice shooting moovers etc!

Day two and 1/2 of day 3 will be the match. completion by 2:00 on a Sunday it will be a Fri-Sat-Sun event.

What do you think??

Neat idea, George, but I'm curious how this will work with the in-betweener type shooters that are neither seasoned veterans, nor rank amateurs.

Seems like there's a lot of folks that have a bunch of matches under their belts, but aren't "top shooters".

Seasoned match shooter or Pro. Paired with 50 top guys in the PRS and or Seasoned Match shooters with lots of experience.

I thought I covered that

If you have shot alot of matches and want to help another new shooter out then your Perfect

Its a Match for new Shooters, Guys with only a couple matches that don't feel comfortable helping a new shooter out should probably not attend, The Intent is to get 50 guys that have never shot a match ever to attend.

Sounds great to me. Really thinking i might have a chance at coming next year and would be perfect for me having never shot a practical rifle match at all. I've shot some USPSA matches but that's it.

great video you should get a prize for that .thanks.GAP. love the idea of pro-am teams makes things a lot more interesting and really makes newbies like me feel included and a chance for a fantastic learning time. great way of opening up the comp. for all.

Just watching this video has me chomping at the bit to try and get a rifle to compete in something like this built. Never done anything like this before. Might have to make some trips to Oklahoma from Kansas City to get a few matches under my belt.

That's awesome. I wish I could attend. I seriously doubt anyone is even using a .308.

The Pro Am match should be awesome. I will definitely make the match a priority. All you guys on the fence come on out and have a blast!! It will be a great time for everyone

Heck of a good idea!

Nice video, I know how long it takes to put something like this together. Thanks for taking the time!

Looked like a great time was had by all.

I'm gonna bump this because the video is no longer available on youtube, and i want to watch it again. Anyone save it and want to re-host it?

I have it in my phone. Problem is, my Wi-Fi works like shit, and I don't want to use my 4G to upload because the video is almost half a gig.
