The only thing I can get to work is an iPhone.
I'll have to try a phone. I have an android and wife has an iPhone. Maybe one of them will work better.
I tried to use my USO LR-17 behind the CO-LR Gen3 Alpha but they wouldn't both fit on the mount I made so I will have to go back and rework that. So, I put my USO SR-6 behind it to get a couple pics. It was extremely difficult due to the eye relief. I couldn't get them with the iPhone so I used a little Canon Vixia HF R400 video camera and took some stills. The results were not so great. It was a really dark night since the moon didn't show up until late and I could see great with the combo, but there was just too much dark space between the camera and scope. I will try a new idea tonight and try to get better pictures. Ill go out to the farm tonight and take some pictures across the "valley". It is 1200 yards across with a lot of stuff in between points A and B.

I had an IR850 on flood and on the lowest power setting part of the time and no lum part of the time. Im not sure which this is, but the gain was entirely too high. I was too wrapped up in getting the eye relief right. I am going to go out again tonight and get some pics with lum and without and on various mag.

Alright, still working on some clip-on pics. It is really dark tonight but I could still see pretty well without an illuminator. However, I couldn't get a picture worth a crap without it, so I used the minimum amount of lum I could. I went out on the front porch to take more pics of the telephone pole, because it is the only thing that is not a tree around my house. When I went outside there were 7 deer in the yard. I tried to get pics of them but they weren't keen on staying around. The pics of them are me holding the CO-LR and ACOG on a rail and the phone in the other hand. This explains the crappiness.
It looked great through the tube, but not so much through the camera.

Because it was so pretty if it had been a woman, it would have been Olivia Munn wearing nothing but high heels and lip gloss! The death of this tube on coyote hunting trip in Oregon with the impetus for the RC program.

Something a little interesting
The far pond bank is 98 yards from the fence where I was standing at the fence. Im not sure what the detection range is yet, that is going to get tested this weekend on the Special Operations Wounded Warrior hunt. I do know I found an armadillo cruising a field the first night we went out at about 300 yards out. It stood out like crazy but I wasn't sure what it was until I got out a 10x NV unit.

FWIW, color modes are great for some applications but when it comes to hunting I don't think you can beat White/Black hot. I prefer White hot for wooded areas and black hot for open areas.

Being a former large format landscape photographer I have a few tricks up my sleeve. Photographing through a scope day or night requires correct alignment horizontally and vertically at the correct eye relief distance. That is where everyone goes wrong. So get it lined up and then set for a shutter speed that will yield sharp images when taken in conjunction with the ISO and the aperture settings needed. Simple really! Ok maybe not so much, but it can be very rewarding when you do get the goods on film!

Thanks for the tips! My problem is all the buttons on a camera confuse a genuine Arkansas redneck, and it seems all the various settings are in Farsi or some such language.
Ill have to keep pegging away at it.
So, I spent a good part of the week and all weekend out at the Special Operations Wounded Warrior hog hunt. It was an amazing opportunity getting to hang out with so many guys who have sacrificed greatly for this country. I am amazed at all the stuff SOWW did for these guys. I got to camp out with them, spend quite a bit of time with Medal of Honor Recipient Dakota Meyer, blew some stuff up, and ran into a guy from 3/75 that I went to basic with and never saw again afterwards. They had a team jump into camp with an American flag which I got a couple shots of through the thermal. Being that they were moving, in the air, and I was hand holding it, and pulled the images from video that could easily pass as a UFO hoax, they don't look near as good as they did in person, but it is still pretty cool. I was using the same Zeus 3 336-60.

Does anyone have pics of a PVS-14 Gen 3 Pinnacle Night Enforcer behind the Night Force 2.5-10x42 nxs with NV illumination settings.Thinking of building this set up any suggestions would love to hear what everyone thinks.
I've had a 14 behind all kinds of day optics. It works but isn't ideal. No real need for illum reticle. IMHO
An illuminated reticle is detrimental in most situations with a 14 behind a day optic in my opinion.
Hunting with a setup like that can you clearly ID an animal at 150 yards?
Yes, just be aware of a couple things.
Pinnacle tubes are rated for 5.56. Sure, I have put them on much harder recoiling weapons with no issues, but that is a risk you will have to weigh out yourself.
Also, you will loose your eye relief and be forced to put your head in an awkward position, which is not the end of the world.
A low quality day scope will give you low quality results.

The usual telephone pole viewed through the Nyx-14 PRO Gen3 Alpha with no magnification, then with a 5x magnifier. I didn't realize it was so poorly focused. I'll retake them tonight.

ETA pic taken from my S3 with me just trying to get the right eye relief with no special equipment. Warehouse is 250 yards from mine. Armasight CO-LR Gen 3 scope is a 1.5x4.5 Weaver Classic Extreme. Picture sucks its the best I can do so far. I might go buy a phone scope not sure if they work that good.

Saturday morning after a late night last night. It was a test run and familiarization of my 1st NV scope. I was talked out of the CO-LR 3P and into the CO-MR 3P because of the different scope I have having a smaller objective on some if the day time scopes. I'm disappointed to say the leader but need to know if my expectations are to high...

Below are deer at 315yds (edited to correct yardage)
Pics taken with my iPhone. You can tell me the reticle I have not overpowered the NVS by magnification. Pretty sure this was taken at 5. Last night was overcast but I could easily walk around with no lights at all. The Illuminator completely washed everything out and the only way to see past 75 yds was with it off. The Illuminator used was the one that came with the NVS. (IR850 detachable long range IR illuminator)
Below is a pic of my brother-in-law standing at 15 yds with Illuminator on and the brush behind him is at 20yds.
Any and all comments welcome.

I had my range wrong. The deer were at 315yds. The phone gets close but doesn't quite do the job on what we could see. We could shoot them last night, but I am not happy with the purchase as of now. Still curious about opinions on the MR vs the LR.
