There are two scopes that I'm seriously considering picking up this year, the big ZCO and hopefully the Revic if they come out with a mil version. They both look really promising. :)

2 weeks in and 164 votes later and the ZCO's still have the lead, looks like the Kahles has jumped up a bit and also the Leupold Mark 5HD 3.6-18x44. The Ultra shorts have quite a bit of interest which says a lot about that market. What's cool is that is a pretty impressive lineup of scopes that did not exist before (outside of the reticle updates for S&B and Steiner), certainly seems like a lot more than last year and years prior.

Sightrons New 4.5-24 is right around 2k.. Damn that's high
Not for what you're getting.
Quality costs money.
I would love to see them expand their SIII FFP line to include a 4-16 with illum and capped turrets, as the cost would be more in my wheelhouse.

I can confidently say that FX1000 is the best sub $1k Scope on the market and beats several more costing more money. True zero stop, insanely good clicks, 10 MIL/ 25 MOA turrets, glass etched great reticles, great glass and lifetime warranty
If SFP is your thing.
They tend to make good glass, most of their scopes have extremely limited adjustment range, but it appears that they addressed that.
They are definitely an attractive option of they prove durable.

The travel numbers on these are extremely conservative. Actual real world tested I got 20.1 MRAD for the 6-24 and 31 MRAD for the 4-16

Just because the turrets continue to turn does NOT mean the reticle continues to move.

what ever happened to the REVIC PMR428?
Talked about on the first page. There wasn't room to put Revic in the list as they were a 2017 release; however, the mil version is supposed to arrive later this year, I think that's when you'll hear a lot more about Revic. Frank has been testing one for 3 months now, I assume a review is coming soon but he said he's digging it so far...

Thanks for the info.

They are FFP with a good retical right out of the gate. Nikon hired a PRS shooter to give them advise and they listened.

Only the 6-24 models are FFP, I would be more interested in the 4-16, so I'm not interested at all. +, they are 20 years behind the times limited to a 4x erector system
Straight from their website:
All of the 4-16x50SF models have the reticle placed in the riflescope’s second focal plane, so all holdover corrections, ranging and other measurements using the indicated reticle subtensions should be done at 16x magnification.

Thanks for the correction!
The price point is excellent as well.
I would love to see an extended review of these.
They probably need to tweak the website, as it is a bit misleading.

Its not on the list but I too am looking forward to reviews on the FX1000. Most excited for the Leupold MK5 but the budget will really get stretched thin to reach that.

I really like the ZCO specs and features but I can't unsee the visual cues they took from sand tires and jumbo calculators.

I think less is more when you are laser engraving a scope but I understand the need to get your branding out there as a new company. I am willing to accept the "Loud" look of the scope if it brings performance with it. I hope to see one of the ZC527 5-27x56 scopes when they are available.

For several weeks now the Kahles 318i has remained a steady 10 votes behind the ZC420 while the ZC527 has continued to grow in popularity (as polls go). I wonder how far out ZCO will be backordered once they finally start shipping...

I really like the features and price tag of the Athlon Ares ETR with mil reticle; a friend is leaning towards the MOA version -- just waiting for June-July availability

The Leupold Mark 5's are getting into quite a few Hiders' hands, so far it seems they finally might be the scope that many of us hoped Leupold would be...

80 posts into this thread and no mention of the new S&B LRR-Mil reticle, soon to be available on a number of their scopes - wasn't even listed on the OP's original poll.

Not to start another S&B shitpost, and I am a fanboy, but I wonder why the new LRR-Mil is not on the radar here?

The LRR-Mil has definitely been on my radar, but Schmidt is taking forever to bring it to market so who knows if we'll even see it this year, Finn Accuracy says the MSR2 will be coming this year which is why I included the MSR2 and not the LRR-Mil.

The FX1000 is a FFP scope, not SFP

Has Vortex ever indicated that they plan to work on a 3-18 version of their AMG or lighter version of the Razor Gen 2 3-18?

I have tried to get that info but to no avail, best I can get is they have some stuff in the works that’s pretty awesome, but what exactly they won’t say and those who can are bound by NDA

I'm curious about most of the scope on there but that said i would like to see what the Leupold mark 5HD has to offer.

Anyone in the know heard anything more about the new Schmidt & Bender Competition/Hunting 3-21x50 scope displayed at SHOT?

There’s a thread about them just down the page, I’ve been following it closely and the Mark 5s are doing pretty well. I’m waiting for the DMR II Pro from bushnell. Love the reticles G2/3.

Thanks for the heads up already following does the DMR II Pro now have locking elevation turret !

So far I am very happy with the 2 REVICS I have. Just wished they had more elevation travel so I didn't have to put 40 MOA total on the mounts.

I'm actually most interested in a scope I've been trying to purchase since October last year :) The Minox ZP5 MR4, rarer than hens teeth at the moment. Of the newcomers I'm keen to see reports on the Minox 5 -25x56 ZE-LR with MR4 reticle that was shown to a few people at Shot. Also keen to see reports on the 4-20 ZCO and the Schmidt Comp/Hunting 3-21x50 mentioned above. Right now those are all on my shortlist along with the S&B 3-20 Ultra Short

What are the laws regarding shipping a used scope from the US to Aus? If the ZCO is as good as they say it is I may replace my Minox with one, I also have my eye on the new Steiner M7Xi 4-28x56 and hoping it will be less than $4k... I love my Minox and it would take one impressive scope to replace it, but these two are on my hotlist right now.

I don't think there are restrictions but I'm not sure. I have purchased a number of scopes from Euro Optics (S&B, Premier etc). I have also bought a scope off the classifieds here (a USO), but that was some time ago. I have a standing order with a vendor for the Minox as soon as it comes back into stock - could be as late at September though so if I can find an alternative in the interim I'll jump on that.

Not on the list, but I will stick with Burris 5x25x50 II. Very good scope for the buck.
