If its been posted before apologies. A shooting buddy of mine whose a constable in Texas put this up. this officer wasnt prepared and it cost him his life. SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. Im not putting him down, dont know as Id have come out any better but I think the way it began, as soon as I saw a weapon Id have opened fire. Its brutal, be ready.

Saw this years ago. It has haunted me ever since. That poor officer was so untrained or unfit for the job that he didn't stand a chance. He did everything he possibly could have done WRONG. I'm not on the job, but this one doesn't even appear close to me. He just seemed too afraid to shoot even to save his own life, and by the time he did he was too late and WAY outclassed and outgunned. M1 Carbine with combat experience behind it vs. (probably) 9mm handgun with someone who appears to have only barely qualified with it - no chance. He had SO many opportunities to have prevented this. The first time I saw it I was yelling, SHOOT HIM, SHOOT HIM, etc. but he just wouldn't. When the perp went back to the truck and pulled the carbine he still was yelling at him, like he thought the guy might somehow comply to put the gun down. STUPID.

The other thing about this video I remember is that I kept thinking that the perp reminded me of someone, especially when he was dancing a jig and singing like a kook, but I couldn't think of who it was. Finally, it came to me who it was I had seen behave like this in interviews...Charles Manson.

The cop got shot dead, I wont watch it again. Yeah he might have done everything wrong by the book but you dont know the circumstances of his town and how hos department training was, maybe he just didn't have what t took to be a cop, the other group that doesn't have what it takes to be a cop and a much larger group iarethe ones who get trigger happy when they pee their pants at the first sign someone is not playing their Simon says.

Damn! That was sad! That officer showed serious restraint and it cost him his life. I’d have shot him the first I seen the weapon, period. Did they ever catch this person or the person with him? I hope he goes very slowly! This is just wrong!

Seen that before and must have always seen the abridged version because I don't remember it going on that long. It's so odd we seen vids like that where lethal force was NEEDED and we compare it to vids of unarmed civilians being lit up for simply obeying the cop's commands or maybe they breathed the wrong way.

    That was Kyle Dinkheller.
He apparently had recently been reprimanded due to complaints.
The video was recorded on a system that he personally purchased, likely to protect himself from fraudulent complaints (which happen ALL the time).

The killer lived on death row at tax payer expense for 15 years before finally getting the needle.

Gdamn. Being a cop is a thankless job risking your life for an undeserving public and the monetary compensation is disrespectful. Then, your every move is put under a microscope by Monday AM QB shitbag lawyers. I don’t know why anyone would want to do it, but I’m glad they do. To any LEOs on the forum: thank you for what you do.

I'm glad that good people are willing to do these jobs.

That was 1 county west of where I'm from. I've been up and down those roads a uncountable number of times on my Mx bikes.
Matter of fact, after movin up here to the big city, I actually worked at a place with Andy Brannan's nephew and got to know em pretty well, good fella, small world. This was before they snuffed him, but we talked quite a bit about it. He apparently said he was straight blacked out and had no clue what he'd done until he came to IIRC. He was awful sorry for it and had long since come to terms with God from what the nephew told me... fwiw. Unfortunate all the way around.

I saw this in a concealed carry class that I recently took. It was explained that the officer had been recently reprimanded for using excessive force when making arrests. Which explains his restraint.
But I agree, he should have smoked that dude the minute the carbine came out.
