The kimber is a 7mm-08 I have a hawke sidewinder 8x32x56 but it doesn't have enough moa of adjustment they said it had like 53 Moa it has half that and found when hunting deer 8 is to much and the farthest I have shot was 650 yards it's a sfp scope never used a ffp but I'm not sure on the reticle shrinking and getting bigger been looking at the nightforce shv and leupold mk4

I have a Zeiss V4 4-16 and I think it has around 80 MOA of travel. I have not yet checked how well it tracks since it is somewhat new to me, but the glass is pretty good and it is a SFP so you should feel comfortable with the reticle. I have it on my Kimber Classic Select 280 AI and it seems to go nicely with a relatively lightweight rifle. Personally when I put it next to my 3-15 Burris XTR2, I like the Burris better... but I like FFP.

Ya I don't know I mean ffp sounds good just don't know I'm willing to try it tho I don't really dial my turrets I'm a set it and forget it guy so it doesn't have to have great tracking just keep its zero thanks for the info

The advertised elevation adjustment range is total. From bottom stop to top stop. So yeah, you'll get half that if you start from center. Guess you didn't know that.

So then what does it matter how much elevation adjustment range does a scope have? And if you just zero the rifle and hold over, a first focal plane scope would make even more sense.

Things are not adding up

I just dislike shimming me scope witch I had to do on my hawke and yes I know it's from top to bottom there is just a dead zone where the turrets click on the top and bottom that do not move the reticle

I’ve got an older VX III 3-9x40 on my Montana, it’s light and compact. I don’t take long shots with this rifle so no need for anything more.
Yeah it's just the best rifle I own I also have a savage 116 pretty old but doesn't shoot the greatest might just need a new stock tho it's pretty flimsy
