Did you bring the hotdogs? No, I thought you brought the hotdogs.

AU College of Vet Med (my alma mater) locked down during this. My wife read the story this morning and asked me if tear gas could have caused the fire. I don't think so, but I don't really know the answer, but as I thought about it, the "distraction device" was probably a flash-bang. I would think that combo would have been tested to infinity, but is there any chance that the two could set off a fire? I remember there was a lot of controversy about what might have started the fire in Waco. My next guess was the perps set the fire and committed suicide by gun, letting the place burn down around them.

Some types of flashbangs can very easily cause fires, but I know that fire-avoidant(?) ones do exist because of that concern.

CS grenades that emit the agent in a smoke cloud (vs. one that distributes the agent in a micro-pulverized form) burn at something like 400 degrees, so yeah, they can start a fire (or stick your skin if you're wanting to pick up a smoker and toss it back).

I'm not one of the ones celebrating their death, but if you shoot cops in one location, then shoot at them again when they show up at your house to arrest you, you are not guaranteed a trial. You are guaranteed to get shot. Only if you survive that are you getting a trial. If someone makes up their mind to not be taken alive, they're willfully forfeiting their right to a trial.

Philadelphia Mayor Wilson Goode would be proud . In all honesty these cases as with all give creedance to wait and see . All of the facts have not heen presented .
Let the process work . There are reviews for fatal shootings as well as the investigation that will ensue over the Officer being shot . Save your anger for the facts . At this point in civilization it's pretty hard to hide the truth so there's no sense in blowing occular capillaries.

Pretty much agree, but I am waiting to see why they were shooting at the cops, as there is a rash of cops starting shit with the wrong people and the people forced to defend themselves. But yeah lets wait and see then wait for actual corroboration of what the cops investigating cops report has to say..

Unfortunately benefit of doubt if not automatic anymore. Trust is gone.. Not good for America but its where the GIB put themselves and us.

Officer now at UAB in Birmingham reported to be stable. Hometown guy, born in Auburn, AHS grad. I figured the bodies would go just a 1/4mi up Wire Rd to the AL Dept Forensics headquarters/lab but report says Montgomery.

Mainly posted this as there seems to be surprising number of folks here w/ an Auburn connection. The area has changed tremendously (and for the worse in my opinion) in recent years. If you haven't been here in a while you might not recognize many parts of town.

Auburn has a camera system much like Great Britian and Israel. The drug store that was robbed has a camera system. Those systems left no doubt who robbed the store or the vehicle he was in. Officer stopped the car and was immediately shot, leading a few inquiring minds to believe the guy shot police to avoid arrest, but others beliefs may differ.

Auburn University and Auburns tiered camera security system make Auburn a very bad place to commit an outdoor criminal offense if you dont want to get caught.

News reports stated Federal law enforcement was on the shooting scene, they were, much in part to the University response to potential threats to the external student body surrounding campus, and to assist in the immediate apprehension just in case it moved to campus proper. Jfwiw
