My budget AR: Aero Precision Upper/Lower, Geissele Mk4 13" handguard, Faxon mid-length "Pencil" profile, Surefire brake, Velocity Trigger.

It's not a "evil" assault weapon. Has a brake, not a "flash hider" , has a fixed stock, and a retarded "fin" preventing me from "encircling my thumb" around the pistol trip, and no forward pistol grip. LoL. Commie California rules.

.... Oh and my Les Baer Thunder Ranch

Just found this thread. I'm an Amtracker currently stationed in 29, shoot out at the dry lake bed near copper mountain college all the time. Would LOVE to take part in this. I live in yucca, and have a full IPSC and stand, and two bolt guns (impact precision and accuracy international AX). So glad I found this thread!

You're in. Welcome to the Extravaganza.

The more Marines, the more Motrin, water, and foot powder I'll bring.

The two rifles. Still waiting on my glass for the AI, since she's new.

nice we will definately have to get out more. i try to stay away from the lake bed, to many other people most times for me to be comfortable. dirt bikes and such

Yeah the lake bed can be tricky if you're not in the right area. But I built a range using my MilGPS app I use for work. This particular set up is away from dirt bikers, off-roaders, and the other guys that just go out and blast away. Additionally, the SDZs of potential richochets are way away from anything or anyone.

I use a sign in the one dirt road that bisects the line of fire "warning, live-fire in progress, please honk". The road is very infrequently traveled, and if someone is on it, I can see them from about 3000m away, and I just unload show clear until they pass by. I can show you sometime.

That's a fancy lookin brake you got on your AR ;)

What bolt gun is that?? Badass.
The bolt gun is something I put together. It's built on a bighorn origin with a shouldered prefit from PVA and it's sitting in a MDT ESS chassis.

Where are you guys buying steel from? I’ll try to see if I can get something to contribute.

trrying to organize who will be able to support bringing what heres the posts i saw that had stuff in them plus my initial post

so im tracking
dsp jaggar "self": 1X full size 18"X30" IPSC silhouette , and 1X / 10", 8", 6", 4", 3" round targets

clcustom 1911: 1X 1/2 size ipsc silhouette 12"x20" and ??? 2X 8" and 2 10" ???? or ??? 1x 8" and 1x 10" ???? can you clarify on what you are planning to bring?

hic28: "plenty of steel" lol can you clarify please

just looking to organize what were going to have so we can spend the most time shootings instead of debating what to put where.
i may be able to get another 1/2 size ipsc got to make a drive to get it though.

so were up to

3x full size ipsc
1x 1/2 size ipsc
2x 10", 8"
1x 6", 4", 3"

7 targets guessing we will probably not really use the 3" unless really close and the 4" will be a challenge target at most distances we will be at

all the steel

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H4ZYWX1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

this is the cheapest place i found full size targets and i looked for a while haha. every other size are a dime a dozen but if you want full size they are harder to find for a reasonable price

My ipsc is a 1/2" thick plate, she's. heavy bitch. Rated for the guys that wanna shoot 300WM.

I’ve got a good buddy who supports my club that makes steel - he’s got a lot more offerings than what is on the website but let me know if you guys wanna put together a bulk order. He is in hemit

Honestly, for the amount of people, weapons and targets we are looking at shooting...your location works much better. The place I have setup is much more suited for a quick 2-3 hour session with 1-2 people.

Decided to jump on the "Saterlee" test bandwagon with interesting results with 6.5 Creedmoor, Reloder 23 (disregard the RL22 on the paper... it's RL23), 147 Hornady ELDm, Prime brass, Fed 210M primer, 2x fired, fresh anneal. Loaded .025" off lands.

"Bolt lift/extract" means slight sticky bolt lift and hard to extract one handed. "SAA" is "same as above"

I was thinking 43.6 or 43. My chrono was 9’ from my muzzle, info only.
I tend to go for the high node just to get more speed as long as there aren’t any pressure signs. Are you getting any pressure signs? If you wanna play it safe, go with 43. That way you can be safe during the summer when it gets really hot.

There were no signs at all with RL23. I like to play safe anyway just because of that temperature/pressure gig.
