147 ELDM Accelerated

Hey just wondering if anyone has had any success pushing the 147 ELDM out to around 2780 fps? Running a 24" Tikka CTR Creed, can get COAL out to 2.9". Using AR2209 powder from ADI (Yep, greetings from Australia) its the equivalent of most of the 4350 powders. Just wanted any heads ups before I start banging grains in beyond recommended value. I only want another 100 - 150 fps and I'm hoping the extra 0.1 on my length + 42.7 - 42.9gn total will get it. (thats about 1.5 - 1.7 over) Only been using 6.5 Creed for a few months, got a great 100gn load for my 20" AX but that was a whole lot easier...

We get a fair bit more velocity than that with reloder 26, not sure if you have that there. Only you’ll be able to determine if AR2209 will get you there. When you say “only want another 100-150”...indicates you already have a load, so tread lightly, and don’t disregard accuracy for speed.

Also, how are you going to push your length out an additional tenth of an inch?

Hey thanks! It's the standard CTR mag, there's a heap of room there. Rifle getting bedded into an A3-5 atm, but I kept the original DBM and mags

You likely dont have a heap of room in the chamber though, certainly not .1”, unless you’re loading very short now.

Just running factory 147 in it at the moment and its 2.804". So you don't think it will chamber at 2.9"?

Not likely, and you will only elevate pressures as you move closer.

I’d invest in a tool to confirm your “touching” dimension.
