Am almost fairly positive the 6.5 PRC I shot was the same platform as the regular 6.5 CM... Bolt and barrel.
The 300 PRC was on the magnum platform. Some shooting footage of both. Full video on the 6.5 PRC coming soon. Although honestly, my preference of the two 6.5 is the Ruger Hawkeye Long Range Target.
Have a friend that is looking for one of the Gen 2 6mm Creedmoor RPRs that have been on sale for months for under $850. Tried talking him into one when he could have had it delivered for as low as $675 but he wasn’t ready several months ago. LOL, now he wants one but can’t find one for less than $1100+.
Anyone know where any may still exist for sale at $900 or under? He is only interested in buying brand new from a dealer via direct transfer to store or local FFL. No private sales or used guns.

Well got around reloading some ammo, sadly my RPR doesn’t really like 100 gr bullets, but I got them on sale so have 455 rounds of plinking/practice rounds.
Also few new items, titanium fluted bolt shroud, accu-shot mono pod.

Surprised you reloaded so many without actually testing them. Perhaps different powders. Try a ladder test.
It is called a Mono-Pod.
^ The Accu Shot mono pods are really nice. I’ve owned a couple. I find they work better on the bench or harder surfaces though. Prone on grass or a field I need something heavier like a decent squeeze bag. XLR stocks are the bomb
I did do load test, 5 different powder loads with 5 rounds each. Hottest load group the best out them. I had some 120gr eld match and 129 SST. Shot two groups of 5 with each ammo then grouped with in a penny, where even hottest load it About a quarter sized.
Also I got the bullets, and powder on sale. LGS owner was retiring, got bullets at $17 a box of 100 and powder at $24 per 1lb so sure it sucks they not super awesome but at price I can’t complain to much for 455 rounds of ammo
Leaves to believe my RPR likes 120-130gr area, so I’m going to buy some 120, 140 ELD match, and some 129 SST do more testing. So like I said I have 455 rounds of plinking/practice ammo

I got 175 SMK at under an inch at 200 with 44.0 grains of Varget, Lapua case and 210m.
I got another load I’m working on 170 Lapua D46 and 42 grains of H4895 shoots pretty good. Lapua brass with a 210m.
Unfortunately I don't have a chrono, so I am shooting blind. But for the ranges I am shooting with this bullet (100-300 yd) I think I am OK.
What is the advantage to the heavier 190 bullet? 168 SMK performed the same as the Nosler 168 (but pricier), but I couldn't get the same group sizes with the 175 SMK.
Generally speaking, guys will go to a heavier bullet for a higher BC.... That reduces wind drift.
If you're a PRS shooter, 190s are over the weight limit for Tactical division... or it was last time I checked.
SMK's are designed well to feed from a mag since the nose is not particularily long like many VLDs. As a result of the short nose, you can jam the lands with a mag length round.
If the nose is too long, you will have to jump to the lands and accuracy will almost always go south on you.
The same long nose bullet seated to jam the lands (which would be too long for a mag) and fed into the rifle one by one may very well be most accurate... If you don't mind single shot mode. The added length increases the powder capacity and allows you to jack up the muzzle velocity as well.
The obvious downside is the heavier bullets increase recoil. If you're a PRS shooter, that makes your impacts harder to spot.

Seat 175 SMK .013" off the lands, you'll need longer mags.

I use the 190 SMK bullets at long range with a brake (600-1000). The high bc and energy make up for the velocity I lose with the 20” barrel. They’re pretty damn accurate too. Shot a 1/2 MOA group out at 700 last week.
Any of you guys have issues with the 6 screws on the stock hand guard coming loose? Have not tried LockTite yet, but going to next. Not like it's coming off, but it does loosen up over time.
Have not had any issues on this with my .308 after 3700 rounds on factory barrel. Now with 1100 rounds on a Kreiger barrel, still no issues regarding these screws.
Well I just got mine back from RWS, WOA 6.5 barrel cut to 18" spiral fluted and had a MI handguard put in thats rock solid and cerakoted tungsten, CTR and riser with fluted extension matched cerakote, shaved it down from 10.7 factory to 8.9 pounds, qaiting on the vortex scope, fluted shroud and titanium fluted bolt knob, its not Q FIX weight but im more than happy

Looking to finally upgrade to a Timney trigger while it's on sale on Midway. Any suggestions as to going with the curved or flat trigger?
I bought two of the curved, but then all of my guns have curved triggers. Muscle memory between different types may or may not be a problem?? I try to make all of my guns fit and feel the same. JMO
Anyone here fold their RPR into a soft case? I'd love to hear anyone's experiences make/model for a soft case with width folded. Even if it's longer than necessary that's cool too b/c I'd like to leave my can on which is +8". Thanks

havent made it out yet mounted the scope and bipod, I had a leupold M3 laying around, so on my digital bathroom scale I tried it multiple ways including holding the rifle and subtracting my weight and all were 11.4 pounds 11 pounds 6oz

so subtracting scope rings and bipod actual rifle weight is 8.8 pounds a little lighter than I thought, so Im 11oz over factory weight with scope and bipod

I use this Black Label bag which works well. I have a 24" barrel which just barely fits with the stock folded. The outside has large pockets for storage, and you can either hold it by handles or wear it like a backpack.

What kind of rear bag are you guys finding works well with the RPR stock at various distances? My crusty old sock with air gun pellets still works, but thinking I may try a professionally made rear bag.

I have a SWFA SS 20x42 on mine as well. It was originally on my DPMS LR-308 SASS but I put a Primary Arms ACSS scope on the 308. It works well to 1K yards with my SWFA and it takes a beating very well.
Starline brass works well for me. It's on the 3rd firing in LRP configuration and the primer pockets are still in good shape. I may try some Starline SRP and see how it works out.
I like RL-16 for 6.5CM a lot. My recipe:
RL-16 (41.2 gr)
Hornady 140gr ELD-M
CCI BR-2 Primer
COL: 2.835
Velocity: 2720 FPS at the muzzle
.5 MOA or better @ 100 yards.

I have the SWFA SS 20x42 on my RPR too. Had it for a few years now with no problems at all. I shoot out to 1000 yards just fine with it and could definitely go farther
ALL of of the screws on mine were merely finger tight right out of the box. Some weren't even that.
I took a moment with brake cleaner and a q-tip to remove every screw and replace them with loctite.
Same here blue locktited them....put 70 rounds down range and was tight as a drum. Thanks guys

I've been using this one for a couple years now and it's getting a little torn up inside. The inside can't take much abuse, especially on any hard edges.

Question: I’m running Alpha 2 mags in my RPR 308, no binder plate. I want some more but called and emailed Alpha no reply? Might be out of business?

I'm assuming Magpul hasn't yet found it economical to make their mags more compliant with the reloading crowd? I think it was 2.8-ish last I heard have not shot 308 in a few years so it's foggy. Have you looked at C-Products mags? Not sure if they fit the reloading specs, but if you have not heard of them worth a look as their mags fit my 6.5 RPR.
I’m needing mags with an internal lenght of 2.950”- 2.970” ish. Trying to run Berger Juggernauts in one gun and Berger LRBT 140’s in my 6.5. Both are really long!
