Tell me that’s your gun room?
It’s my new reloading room that I’ve been working on. It’s been taking forever. Still need to do a few things. I was thinking of putting garage floor epoxy on the floor . I used that on the tables. Works fine for me. No really nice hand crafted wood, but it’s strong.

Way too organized to be anyone's gun room - at least that I know. ?
Lol. Just getting my new room going. My old reloading room was fine when i was just starting and leaning but out grew it. Then I picked up 5 Dillion’s and they sat for awhile when I was building this. I ended up giving a friend one cause four fit just right. My old room would get messy quick.

Fun day at the range. 200 yards with 77gr Berger load development. Think I have found the right combination.

HollyHell that is awesome! Seriously good shooting and reloading.
What length barrel and twist?
What is you that load and what speeds and SDs are you seeing?

Desert tech with SAC 223 conversion. Barrel length is 22 1/2 inches 1/7 twist. Running a Thunder Beast Ultra 9 30 cal. Have over 1000 rounds on the barrel at this date. Lapua brass (5 or more reloads) FGGM primers Varget powder(24.4) and seeing 2856 with SD of 19 or so. ES is around 35 to 43. Bullet is the Berger 80.5 or 77 OTM. The OTMs run about 2886. The bullets are seated.010 each from the lands.

Any suggestions on a metal bolt knob. Mine broke I've only had it 2 weeks. It had bubbles in the plastic knob so it was very weak from the start.

Anyone know if the HTI butt pads are any softer/better than the SRS butt pad and if it will fit on the SRS?

I hope they add one of those RRS adapters for the A2. I like it a lot on the platforms I have it on, certainly beats a generic solution.

With the A2's 1/4-20 and MLOK there's generic options out there but I'm not very confident in the durability of a single 1/4-20 screw with no recoil lugs or secondary mounting points, while standalone MLOK options are too far forward of the balance point.

It's just a 1/4" hole? Wow. I thought it would be a 5/16 or semi standard 3/8".

No they chose the 1/4-20 standard instead of one of the larger screw sizes. It's much more widely adopted than some of the larger ones is probably why they chose it, but it was never even meant for really heavy cameras, let alone 20 lb rifles along with rifle recoil. I wouldn't trust it to hold up for very long all by itself.

I don't use tripods too often but when I do it'd be nice to not have to use a generic saddle, they always slip around and aren't the best experience. Fingers crossed for an RRS block for the A2.

I don't know about the A2, and I have no idea if the block is compatible with the A2, but the dovetail mounts to the A1 by using three screws top hold it in place. I've probably shot a thousand plus rounds with my SRS locked into my RRS leveling base and I've never had it slip. When I wad using a HOG Saddle, I had some slippage

Wow... EuroOptic has the A1 chassis (chassis only) for $1500! Add a 22" 308 conversion kit for $1100 and you have yourself a complete rifle for $2600

I think its either 1/4-20 or 5/16-18. Just swapped one out and I'll have a look at the old bolt to see.

Frank
Thanks mine broke and had bubbles inside the knob. Going to get a metal one

Forgot about the silly metric crap on the rifle. So sad to see them making everyone duplicate tools in different measuring standards when there is no real advantage to the metric thread system over SAE. More stupid socialist me too crap.

Anyone have any user feedback on the 24" Hunter profile 6.5cm barrel? This latest price drop on A1s has finally put me in the DT camp. Just wondering if I'll regret my first barrel being an ultra lightweight.

I have a fairly light, 26” fluted Bartlein in 6.5 creed and it’s an absolute hammer. I am sure the DT barrel will be the same. Have only heard good things.

Anyone concerned that DT may go out
Of business since the Gov wants to seize their building? Read that in an article today and hadn’t really cared too much about the whole cult thing till now.

I just read an article about the cult. DT isn't related, aside from renting space in a building owned by cult, so I'm not terribly concerned

Direct quote from the article, not sure how accurate it is.

“Other properties have looser ties to the crimes and belong to rank-and-file members of the Davis County Cooperative Society, also known as the Kingston Group or The Order. One building the government wants to seize is the West Valley City home of gun-maker Desert Tech. Phone calls there went unanswered Friday.”

I suggest you get off that sight and read The Salt Lake Tribune it's self it paints a different story from what I'm reading

Just saw this deal. That’s nuts. I had been thinking I might sell my A1 and get an A2, but if the going rate is $1500 then that’s too big a gap for me. Maybe after all this stock sells out the A1 rate might come back up a bit. If not, I’m happy with my system.

Just read an article on the Salt Lake Tribune, paints the same picture. DT isn't implicated in any wrong doing, but the government wants to seize their building. I suspect they will keep their building, but it will probably take a few bucks in legal expenses.

DT is family funded at some (probably large) level, and that family is indeed the Order.

For those properties with loans in question, the borrowing happened between 2011 — when Washakie began what it said was the production of biofuel that allowed the Kingston brothers to collect a federal tax credit — and August 2018, when the first indictments were issued.

Of the two properties with no such loans on file with the recorder’s office, one is the office of Desert Tech, a West Valley City gun manufacturer, whose buyers include foreign militaries.

When Desert Tech owner Nick Young spoke to The Tribune in a telephone interview Monday, he said neither he nor his company has had anything to do with Washakie and never took any money from it or the defendants.

“Jacob is my cousin,” Young said. “But just because he’s my cousin means I do business the way he does? I absolutely do not.”
Asked why he thought the feds wanted to seize the building, Young replied: “The only reason, I can assume, is to discriminate against who we are.”

He said Desert Tech leases its space from the building owner. A review of those ownership records shows the building belongs to a limited liability company for which Young was once listed as the manager. The LLC was transferred in 2016 to one of Young’s family members who had offices listed in another building prosecutors say was connected to the fraud.

There’s no public record accusing Desert Tech of wrongdoing. Young said his company received a federal subpoena to supply financial records and did so, but that subpoena contained no allegations. Young said he didn’t know the government wanted to take the building until news reports coinciding with the guilty pleas.

“I showed up to work this morning,” Young said Monday, “and my employees and staff are all scared. ‘Are they going to kick us out of our building? Are we going to get raided? Will I still have a job?’ ”

Even if the government takes the building and leaves the rest of Desert Tech intact, Young said that would be a hardship on the company. Young said Desert Tech has heavy machinery and other gun-making equipment, and moving to a new production facility with an adequate power supply likely could cost about $500,000.

Young argued Desert Tech has been a law-abiding business. It won an award from the U.S. State Department for helping catch terrorists seeking to buy firearms.

Well I can say this if they do have to get out of the building I will take off from work and help them all I can at no cost to them.

Hey quick question for the desert tech group, I bought a SRS a1 from euro this week, hell of a deal, but is the thread pitch for the extension metric or standard?

It seems the socialists demand that we recognize the rights of criminals, deviants and those who want to "identify" as other than they really are but for some reason believe they also have the right to limit and condemn anything we do. We as in normal Americans, who shouldn't have to defend ourselves from them or distance ourselves from beliefs that don't jibe with theirs. Admittedly being associated with someone engaging in fraud is not good but what does the fact that they're polygamists or believe that polygamy is proper have to do with it? Its just another way to separate people. If we said stuff like that we'd be racist but its ok from them.....

Congrats I picked one up too from euro. But I live in commiefornia so I have to wait 10 days after it arrives at my FFL. Are you going the conversion kit route? Seems like inventory for A1 kits are slim these days.

well id prefer my smith to do my barrel, he said he can do it as long as its standard thread pitch on the tenon, he doesnt have metric gears, but i think i found out its 24tpi
