**6 Creedmoor**

What is everyone find the 105 hybrid likes for jump in there creed I’m giving up on the 108eld after way way too many rounds trying to make it work and I’m looking for an expedient development with the 105 if possible

I’m .015 off in my cm
.010 off in my BR
My buddy is .010 off in his BR

I’d run your load development just touching and find the speed/charge your happy with then seat .005 back at a time until you find the group you like.

I find my charge then load 40-50 touching and use a lee hand die in the field for seat test.

The 6cm is one of the easiest cartridges to load for I’ve shot...
H4350
CCI450
105 hybrid
Peterson brass

If it won’t shoot with the above something is wrong.

I usually load them up at home .005 increments out to .050” I’m hoping for a little luck here, with my 6.5 creedmoor there was so much info available I did my powder charge testing at .020” off because everyone was jumping the 140eld .020-.030 and I am still using that length after a seating depth test I am hoping for the same thing with the 105hybrid because the 108eld wouldn’t shoot under 3/4” at 100yd for me after more rounds of testing than I care to admit

I will be using 105 hybrid
Lapua brass
Fed 205m
H4350

I'm running roughly .012 of jump on my 105 hybrids and they shoot a solid .4 or better at 3085.

Gold medal match brass

I'll be switching brass to the ADG brass for next season since I dont feel like redoing a load that work right now.

I’d suggest the 450s...I love the 205Ms but the 450s shine in the 6CM

I have a few thousand 450s I got away from because they were causing issues for other people in the nucleus actions this brass is already primed but I will definitely try some with a little less powder afterwards

Thanks for the info guys shot yesterday @.01off , 40.6 gns h4350 gave me 1/2” at 200yds for 5 shots
20 shots to find the load didn’t even bother to shoot the remainder of the charge weight test
Just curious what brass did you use? Seems like low charge weight for the 6mm.

Did you Chrono them?

When I did load development with the 108eld I picked 40.6 and 41.8 with the same combo so I am sure there is another node a bit higher but from my initial speed testing with the 105 it would put me at or above 3200fps and I’m just being conservative I have run up to 42.8 with no pressure signs

Damn well those are pretty good numbers.
I’m running 41.8 for of h4350 in starline brass. Velocity is 3031.

Wow you’ve got a fast barrel. I’m running 105’s with 42.2 h4350 and I’m at 3130.... nothing wrong with less powder and more speed!! Just a little jealous ?

What barrel..how long..and how many rounds through it?

This barrel only has 478 through it...at 460 I had to adjust seating I’ve lost .010 off the lands.

I fully expect this barrel to be done between 900 and 1100...if it goes 1100+ I’ll be happy

I’ve got roughly 300 through the barrel. It’s a Seekins havak PH1. I’m not worried about barrel life. I’ll be happy to get 1100-1200. This is a hunting/steel rig....I put barrel expenses into bullets, powder, primers. Just part of the fun shooting fast light bullets.

I stopped worrying about barrel life 20 barrels ago it’s all part of the game...like you say speed is not free and I don’t mind paying for it.

Exactly!! Nothing is free and I figured it’s a better vice than sitting at the bar so might as well shoot while the eyes are sharp.

I think the 105s are very forgiving.

Current Bartlein barrel I’m jumping .100” from the start which is crazy and it shoots half which is fine for me. But it has .183” fb. I just like seating them deeper in the neck since I’m only running a couple thou of tension. At 635 round count I’m now jumping .111” and it still holds half.

Previous Bartlein with .136” fb was jumping .085” and it shot fine through its life.

The benchmark before that was a shorter fb not sure if it was one of those short .090” or not but my notes I was only jumping .015” and chased lands til the end. Never really ran into OAL issues and it shot pretty darn good.

I just really enjoy the 105s because they seem easy to reload super forgiving on OAL!

Peterson LRP (no SRP in stock at the time)
S&B LR primers
110 SMK
39.2 RL16
3030 fps
2.2 SD/6 ES - 6 shots

This Load hammers.

I love Sierra and prefer a BC over .600 so I'll probably never use 105s in anything. Berger's and A Tips are off the table due to price, though Sierra seems to be following suit. I don't really shoot groups but I have attached a picture of one anyway. Low shot was coldbore, next 4 up top.

26” barrel, 41.6 gn of h4350, 108 Hornady ELD-Ms, 10 thou off the lands, just over 3000 FPS, SD of 4-6

I should mention that I haven't changed seating depth between the three 6 Creed barrels I've had. These 110s are not finnicky whatsoever from my experience and don't seem to care about seating depth.

That's good to know, that's what I liked about the 105 hybrids but they are getting like hens teeth and pricey locally

Ran my 110's in a HH also with a 7.5 tw @ 19 thousandths off.

Did some initial barrel break in & load development on a new 6mm CM

26” 1-7.5” Bartlein
Peterson SRP Virgin
CCIBR4
Berger 105 Hybrids .015” Jump
H4350

Was hoping to find something promising at around 3000 FPS but started my ladder test about a grain too high.

40.6 - 42.2 all printed right on top of each other at 300 yards.

40.8 shot 3049 Avg, 4.2SD/9ES/.4MOA
41.0 shit 3064 Avg, 5.9SD/17ES/.4MOA

Will load and probably stick with 40.9 at 3055 FPS-ish as long as the accuracy is there and ES isn’t too high.

you need to get a 100 rounds through that barrel before you get serious about load development...its going to speed up at least 50fps and most likely closer to 100fps.

Gotcha!

I’d look for a load in the 3030-3075 range there’s good loads right in that speed zone

I ended up chasing speed and going with 42.2gr H4350 with great accuracy. Averaging 3230 out of my Havak PH1... after these next 100 rounds I’m going to see what the lower node is with 4350. I’m guessing around 3030 as that’s what the Hornady 108eldm and I’m blown away by the accuracy from factory while also having SD in the low teens.

@Wheres-Waldo I Would love to hear what you settle on for your final load.

I’m still running mine over 3200...648 rounds and dying by the round...hoping to get 2 more matches out of this barrel

Whoa that’s quick, 648?!? And already dying? I’m definitely backing off then. Don’t need the extra speed just wanted to see the potential of the cartridge (which is badass). I’d love to get 1500 rounds out of the barrel, not looking good now lol

I'm guessing no ones speed checking at the matchs, and what powder are you running that eating the throat so quickly

I’d much rather back off to 3000 FPS & have a barrel that will likely last at least 1750 rounds.

Learn to read wind better than the next guy can cram 50 grains of powder in a case and you’ll be happier.

Was using a Magnetospeed on a spigot mount and a Labradar side by side for the first 50 rounds or so before I was ready to throw the Magnetospeed in the trash, I’m 100% selling that thing.

Pretty much pointless for finding vertical nodes...

What’s wrong with your Magnito speed? Mine has run spot on. For velocity and plugged in to a ballistic calculator. Run out to 1200 yards on multiple rifles.

youll get 1500 pretty easy if you stay in the 3050fps area.
