Atlanta walk out

While I agree with your premise, and think it well versed enough to give it a "like", there is a caveat heretofore not covered.
A small digression, then the caveat.

A. The majority of Atlantanz voted in Keisha, the mayor, their choice to provide leadership. I believe she is failing to provide that service to the greater majority of the people, not of the rioter category.

B. That same majority voted in the council. I believe that council is failing like Keisha.

C. The police work for A & B, who approve both the laws the police are to enforce and the policies under which the police operate.
C1. The police are/were enforcing the edicts created by A & B and were doing a good enough job that "that majority" didnt find so offensive they would riot, march, or stand in front of the police dept with signs protesting the whole of Keisha's mayorship leadership failure.
C2. That majority are screamingly notably absent now, encouraging Keisha and the council to support the police (instead of the minority rioters n looters) and restore peace, quiet, and tranquility to the loveliest bonfire village on the plateau.
D. The DA creating this conundrum with his prosecutions, was also elected by a number of that majority.
D1. None of the remainder of that majority are holding D(umb)A(ss) responsible for his actions which are visibly seen to help reduce the peace, quiet, and tranquility of the village.

E. Traditionally the people's best leadership, the Reverends, have stepped in very vocally in the past, and worked with A & B, to find solutions that the majority you speak of, want to see in place.
(E-0, sub) Is there a reason for their notable absence speaking up for the majority during this, are they not speaking up, or is MSM not covering it... ?
E1. Secondly, the next protector of the majority, the NAACP was traditionally visible and vocal with the mayor and council demanding a fix.
E1A. It is notable that fine organization is calling for defund... basically fucking over that majority you speak of.
E2. I see none of the majority calling out the E series people here as they are not calling out A & B.

F. None of us close to this situation SEE or HEAR the majority you speak of demanding the police do their job, or supporting them. Their silence reinforces, "All it takes for evil to triumph is the good majority do nothing".
F1. The Crickets noises from the majority you speak of definitely DOES NOT support the police or encourage them to put their ass on the line and in the prison sending sights of the D(umb)A(ss).

That A through E are seen appeasing the small minority rioters screams volumes to the officers. That A through E are seen punishing the police for doing what A & B created and promulgated (law and policy), screams volumes to the officers.
That the majority you speak of is silent on these matters SCREAMS volumes to the officers.
Loyalty is a two way street. You (A-E) can only beat a dog (the police in this case) long enough before it bites you. I believe the dog made the first survival bite last night.

Now, the caveat.
That majority you speak of is reaping the crop their silence planted. They are getting the level of service they (perhaps unwittingly) asked for by voting in Keisha and the council.
Perhaps deserve now that their silence SCREAMS (unintentionally) support of the minority protesters and looters, rather than a visible support of the police.
That majority you speak of is failing the police just like A-E.

All it takes for evil to triumph is....

VR.....

Holee shit.

It sure sounds like it is time to practice our Annie Oakley.

Any suggestions for shooting a precision rifle over the shoulder? A semi auto would be better for the uses but the sound would be horrible for the shooter. Free recoil? Im thinking a red dot would be best in that case.

(Not actually saying we should be doing this but if the Boog did start backwards shooting would be great for the boogs image. "They were all shot in the back." This post is a joke.)

I propose that any city thinking about defunding/disbanding their PDs grant every single cop vacation for the entire month of July. Let everyone fend for themselves for a month. Let them see what defunding/disbanding the PD really looks like. After the month ends have a city wide vote, broken down by election districts, on whether or not the residents want the Police back in their neighborhood. The neighborhoods that want the Police get them those that vote no do not.

Everything you listed is true if it wasn’t past tense to the shooting. The dude was running away got shot twice in the back. There was no immediate threat when he pulled the trigger is the argument the da will use and if his trial is in Atlanta he is going to jail. If I were on that jury I’d go for a conviction.

You aren’t thinking clearly. You’ve clearly never been in a situation remotely similar to this. If you had you wouldn’t be thinking this way. I’m going to reserve judgement until I know all of the facts but I’m betting 100% that if you were one of these officers, got in a scuffle with a drunk guy that grabbed something off of your or your partner ran off and in the process was firing it back at you, that you’d return fire. It’s dark, adrenaline is going, this guy just fought with you, stole something off of you, then proceeds to fire at you. At that moment, it’s either him or you. It’s that simple. What’s it going to be? If you say, I wouldn’t have shot him, then you’d likely be dead within short order. Could he have tased the guy and run off never to be seen again,? Possibly, but not likely. Heck I could probably make a good argument that the dude didn’t know whether he had the taser or the gun and he just fired anyways. That shows intent imo, no matter what the weap

I know at least 5 people who have been shot with tasers by police when they were teenagers running away from a parties with booze. A taser is not a deadly weapon, and for while it was being used when the use off a night stick would not have been warranted. They still shoot people with tasers at the police academy right?

People who didn't like the use of tasers were once again the people who weren't thinking about step 2. People get injured and hurt tackling perps on god knows what surface. The tax payers pay if the police officer gets hurt. No one pays when perp gets zapped and hits the dirt, and skids his shit up, except the perp.

It’s not necessarily a deadly weapon but it can be under many circumstances. It could leave you incapacitated to the point someone could come and take advantage of that and then return to use your weapon on you. That’s the point. Could it kill someone with a heart problem? Possibly. Is it going to stop a guy all coked up? Not likely. See where I’m going here?

Apparently laws dont matter anymore. If you can drive drunk, fight with police, take their weapon and use it in them and be considered the victim.....we have no laws

Someone plz tell that to the ATF since they want to go after braces now. Maybe we just collectively don’t comply. Seems to work for the others.

Must be nice being able to abandon your post like that... And with no repercussions.

I say if you do, don't bother coming back. From the bottom of my heart, please, don't.

This Floyd shit got out of hand and became this big racial justice cryout and it appears to have nothing to do with racism. Just another, good old fashioned example of USA police brutality and non-accountablity. So the cops in this instance just keep handing our sworn enemy, who is really the communist party and not black people, more fuel for the fire.

We need to simply institute UCMJ amongst the police with a separate civilian authority to ensure it happens. This shit HAS to end, and I'd like to see it end without me getting somehow saddled with more laws and bans... Because that's how it always seems to work out.

This country is on the precipice of a civil war and it's not gonna be romantic or pretty... Is that what everyone really wants? Is that what it's gonna take to hold police and politicians accountable in this country or to restore the middle class? What a sad state of affairs.
Unfortunately, I think the last part of your statement is the only way to get anyone held accountable anymore as the rule of law has technically gone to the wayside it

You see this

under GA law, a taser is a Deadly weapon.....under GA law, you have a legal right to defend yourself with deadly force against threats against your life.

pretty much everywhere on free earth, firing a deadly weapon at someone IS a threat against their life.

which direction he was running, or which direction he is facing makes absolutely 0 difference.

you can flee....while also presenting a deadly threat...those 2 are not mutually exclusive.

i can run away from you, while firing a gun over my shoulder at you.....does that not present a deadly threat to you?

the fact that this needs to be explained to anyone is sheer lunacy.

IF the suspect was unarmed....you would have a point

IF the suspect was not firing at the police....you would have a point

BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT FUCKING HAPPENED.

Is it still a taser if the officer knows it’s (out idk what to call it, “juice” “has no more taser Bullets”) my point is that officer at the time he pulled the trigger knew the weapon he had was useless. Useless at least from anywhere but right next to the would be victim of it (my understanding is they act like stun guns after they have fired the darts) so technically there is an argument that the guy was unarmed at the time and the cop murdered him. To not see the questionable actions that resulted in the would be worst crime in our land. Is lunacy. To be honest you and other’s blind following of what our government does is appalling. I can’t be alone on a gun forum when I say cops aren’t our friends they are no friend of Americans that value freedom, or even the laws that this great nation is founded on. They are our oppressors. Part of the “protected class”. It’s like you back the blue folks have Stockholm syndrome.

you do realize most modern tasers have several shots, right?

also, does this mean i can run around firing shots at police with my musket, and expect not to be shot?....maybe if i shoot at them over my shoulder with a musket, ill be doubly safe from gun fire?

im also hardly a "back the blue" dick jumper....but im also not about to fault someone when they have done nothing wrong.

Could that one? I would think the cop that keeps it on his belt would know. See how you said “fireD”, Past tense? The dude murdered him. Plain and simple. Like I said before the dude that died is one of the worst pieces of shit humans On the planet. But that doesn’t give cops the right to be judge jury and executioner.

I'll bet even money APD uses Taser X2s...fires twice. You willing to wait and see if the dirtbag fires the second round before engaging?

Since you've decided beyond a shadow of a doubt the cop is guilty, I've decided anyone who "feels" the same is an un-American jack wagon. BISS

might be a bit disingenuous to claim that in that moment, the officer was thinking about how many times the taser was fired and that he was certain the taser was no longer dangerous.

Many cops are not our friends, but to deny them the right to self-defense and to make a decision in a split second that takes weeks after that to debate is not fair.
Do you have a concealed carry permit? Do you carry even?
What would YOU do if a mugger points a weapon at you? Maybe it's not real. Maybe it's a BB gun, maybe it's the real deal. You have less than a second.
Let us know your thought process, what YOU do.

Nimothy-I would have to disagree. It's very possible that after a sustained fight, the officer who fired his weapon did not know what was being fired or how many shots were fired. It's easy to say he should have known this or that. Unless you're in that situation you don't know how fucked up things can get. I've seen my partners get batoned, tazed and cuffed in a scrum. Incoming and outgoing shots are often miscounted or not heard by rooks and vets alike.
If said perp had been allowed to drive home, or run away and someone was injured or killed would that have been a good outcome?
Policing like firefighting is not a pretty business and mistakes and misdeeds can occur. The officers should have been placed on admin leave or whatever the standard policy of APD is after a shooting. If a review board finds misconduct, then let the chips fall where they may. Immediate firing and charges are an affront to LEO's, not because they are a protected class, but because it was political.

its blatantly obvious that anyone thinking you can count shots or otherwise know the status of a perps weapon, while in a defensive situation, has NEVER been in a fight, done any sparring in martial arts, or done any Force on force training.

when in the moment, you dont have the ABILITY to think critically most of the time....you are acting reflexively, and existing on base motor functions, and reverting to training.

you essentially see "threat" or "no threat" in the moment....and someone holding a weapon and firing at you falls clearly under the "threat" category.

honestly, i would be surprised if it even registered in his mind that it was a taser being fired (not that it matters).....he likely heard a pop, saw a gun shaped object, and immediately treated it as any other weapon

In the age of the internet it is so easy to speak your mind emphatically about things that you have zero experience in and only the information given you by an agenda driven media.
I thought that everyone in America was innocent until proven guilty? I don’t pretend to know exactly what happened but a vast group of people apparently do know what happened and have already convicted the cop in question of murder. No trial necessary. Execute him in the town square.
That seems to go against the very principles our country was founded on.

This, right here is what has me seeing red since charges ere announced yesterday. As an American citizen, he is innocent until PROVEN guilty. The fact that the DA charged while the investigation was/is still ongoing is bullshit and should not be tolerated by any citizen of this country. You want the cops to play by the rules but turn around and tell them that the same rules don't apply to them? Then I say fuck your ROE, I'll go home and you all can sort it out. Maybe that is just what this country needs right now, as I contend that the blue line does more to protect the wolves from the stampeding sheep when the herd gets fed up.

You still also fail to realize that the loaded/ unloaded status of the weapon doesn’t matter

a newer X2 taser doesn't have to be reloaded to fire a second set. all 4 darts can be charged at the same time, increasing effectiveness.

You seem to fail to realize the law is what has protect these people all these years. That includes every facet of the law. If it was legal to do unto others as they have done unto you, this B/S would not be happening at all. The hearts an mind fucking B/S is for ass holes who think they can talk an reason with this kind of trash, that shit has proven to never work,...period. The only thing they understand is when good men start playing on the same level or one that has more game to it. Ask the gang fucks in NOLA how it worked out for them once the gloves came off,...or the assholes in Chicago in the early 70's who woke up in the river, that level of a game of tag puts a stop to that kind of shit. Hearts an minds, is but a fucking can kicking operation, always has been always will be, when money is involved.

Ok NarNarthy , settle down or your going to have to take a break 8n the scream room .
" I carry carry everyday but " you're gonna lay down for the first swingin dick that decides to deprive you of your wallet etc ? How do you know they stop there . White guilt much Nancy . That officer responded as per his training set forth , administered and approved by the the Demotard Leftist scum that want to crucify him .
Do you have any idea how much criminal code , procedures , policies , updated training , Supreme Court decisions yadda yadda yadda a Police Offier is trained in .
That officer was acting within the training and procedures set by those above period .
You are speaking out of opinion . Your opinion is not policy or law . Even worse you're arguing opinion as fact on the NarNar webs . Man life is gonna be real hard for you if you are really this diluted. But we do have a participation trophy for you .

To all the people that know exactly what happened, what the cop knew and was thinking I have a suggestion. There are numerous simulators out there that can put you into a myriad of situations. Find a local PD that has one and puts civilians through it or fInd a private training facility that has one. Have them put you through a few similar scenarios and see how you react and how much you know about what actually happened or you did in the scenario. Stress is an amazing thing.

In many states it’s illegal for cops to strike.
But if the said cop(s) don't show up, the penalty would be far less of a problem if they showed up to a department that would be grossly undermanned and were required to play a one man band, that sounds to me like a suicide mission?
Dangerous territory in my opinion, that would only exacerbate the problems.
All this shit didn't have to happen, the people in charge own this, hold their feet to the fire, they are the ones that should have charges filed against them., for putting their officers at a MUCH greater risk.

It doesn’t matter, stop trying to defend a child abuser

“Oh well officer you shot the armed suspect at 36’... the effective range of the weapon he stole is only 35’.... you should’ve known this so you are guilty of murder”
So shooting a man in the back while fleeing makes since. At any distance why the fuck do we even have a court system? Why not just let cops issue the punishment too?
And then you let the piece of shit walk and maybe he kills someone else for their wallet, phone and car keys.

Go away...you're part of the problem
you can honestly say from the bottom of your heart. That human life is worth less than an iPhone? And some car that’s gonna get payed for by insurance Come on who’s really part of the problem.

You’re over simplifying taking of another humans life. He was obviously fleeing. No it’s not pandering what pandering is ignoring the fact that this supposedly highly trained officer shot a man, in the back as he ran away as fast as he could and making excuses for this cop.

I think your oversimplifying some things as well. Let’s look at this another way. The guy is drunk, has already been in a scuffle with the cops, taken a taser and shot said taser at cops. Now let’s suppose we could pause and rewind and said cop doesn’t return fire. Dude gets away. How do we know he would t use said taser to hurt someone else, rape someone, I can go on. Let’s go a step further. How do we know he wouldn’t steal a car and drive off drunk and kill someone else. I mean clearly he went from a bar to Wendy’s drunk off his ass and was going to sleep it off. Lucky he didn’t kill someone getting that far. Sure we could argue that the cops could have let him off, driven him home or called a cab and let him be, but that didn’t happen and he had already broken the law on multiple occasions. The simple fact of the matter is, no matter how you slice this, the dude brought it on himself, period, the end. If it had been me, I’d have been inclined to call him a cab, drive him home or let him sleep it off in the parking lot, but with the latter I would have no way of knowing he would have stayed there before sobering up. Regardless, my guess is that the cops knew something about him that we didn’t as I’ve seen cops extend this courtesy to others before assuming they had no past history, but the fact of the matter is; he did break the law and he brought this on himself. Nobody else.
