One protester shot and killed in Austin. Approached the wrong car with a rifle and the driver went 'hot.'

So......if the guy in the car is found to have use reasonable force in self-defense then the medic can be brought up on charges of attempted murder for firing at the man in the car as he was driving away???
Theoretically, one would think. He also fired at the vehicle that was leaving, or in legal shoot/no shoot parlance, "retreating" which is a "no shoot" situation.

But as mentioned, this is Austin where they make up their own laws.

I got stopped in Austin on a suspicion of DWI about ten years ago just blocks from where this shooing occurred. I also had a .45 truck gun so an UCW charge was added. The charges were dropped for lack of evidence and my CHL was restored on one condition, and that was I wasn't going to get my gun back. The courts wouldn't budge on that. It was a RIA 5" Gov. with 3.5 trigger job and other custom features, valued at $1k if I counted my own time fitting the grip safety and making mesquite handle grips.

My lawyer said he could fight it but it would cost triple what I had in the gun and I was a poor. So Austin stole my gun the way I see it.

Moral of the story is if your going to carry a AK47 around town and not know how to use it then one should invest in body armor.

last time I checked most of the stuff I shoot goes right through body armor...

Surprising so... Did you know that American Eagle 5.7x28 outof a 16 inch PS90 goes right through IIIa!?

That was a shocker... cheapest ammo you can get... nasty.

I think that’s going to become like the big thing… Because you can’t really see well with all the other crap out there. No real hiding from 4k...

Yeah and you know damn well they have it.

And have viewed it.

All narratives right now are trying to appease both sides and are double speak.

Once/if the vids come out it should be apparent what lead up to, and how it all went down.

I went through a very similar thing in Galveston county. Sometimes I wish I woulda fought it more.

When the DC sniper case was an issue in the Washington metro area… Montgomery county Maryland had cameras at a lot of the intersections. These were not top-of-the-line unbelievably high resolution super cameras, these were normal camera for the day.

they turned on the license plate tracking software and started tracking every car that went through every intersection they had a camera at...

this is not one of those things that’s generally known… But it did in fact happen.

They also had some special operations folks that were suddenly detailed to other federal agencies so that they could start becoming actively involved if required.

Even the plate carriers ?

This happened right in front of the One American Center which used to be the tallest building in Austin. I worked security in it and know for a fact it has cameras that cover most of that section of Congress Ave.

Still available....

previously posted by Quickndirty, but never debunked. There's a lot wrong with that presser.

I've been biting my through this train wreck of a thread, but that presser pissed me off.

For starters the Chief (Brian Manley) called it a homicide???
Wait, what you questioned shooter, let him go & are calling this a homicide! Semantics matter there Chief.
Then again it may have been an honest slip indicating how he really feels & inside knowledge the DA is hell bent to make an example of shooter. From his gov biography page "he led a delegation of APD officers during the 2009 Presidential Inauguration in Washington DC " Hmm?

Next we have..........We will be conducting an autopsy to determine official cause and manner of death! Really..........maybe it's actually Covid with a pre-existing condition of 4-5 gun shot wounds.

Then he praises officers for running towards the gunfire. Good on the officers, but he leaves out that per his orders, they were pulled back to begin with.
If this Ass-hat had let the officers do their job and keep protestors to a defined controlled area, instead of marching down the middle of the fucking streets & harassing passers by, this could have been prevented.
He said the officers were following the march (again I'll bet per his orders) instead of controlling it.

This dickhead represents a big part of the real problem with law enforcement Chief = appointed vs Sheriff = elected. This shit typically doesn't fly in Sheriff's jurisdictions.
Chiefs set stupid ROE's for officers based one who their beholden too, and in a City like Austin, Potland, & Seattle that'd be leftist Demonicrat scum.
Chief Manley's job was threatened until he fell in line to his fellow comrades.

Any time a human kills another human, justly or otherwise, it is a homicide. That is the LITERAL definition of homicide. That's why "justifiable homicide" is a thing. No one talks about justifiable man slaughter or justifiable murder.

OK, here's a new video from arfcom that shows better what happened. If you play it slow mo or frame by frame it shows the dead guy shoving his AK right up to the window. Good Shoot. Good commie, good and dead.

Also, look at the very end of the video there is someone else with a long gun in the last frame. Looking closer, it appears to be an APD officer.

That was some ridiculously fast response times. And like the dude above, I can’t see shit. That video doesn’t help at all, at least not to me. Won’t be long until this place turns into a war zone it doesn’t seem like. What has happened to my country?

I stand corrected! Thanks hlee

I'm probably a little edgy these days anyway, but I always thought Homicide implied unlawful killing. I did not realize this term was neutral regarding cause.

Holly shit a light bulb just went off. Those Fucking Mad Mommies that try to disarm me every year. I'm pretty sure they've been using Homicide rate not Murder rate. So are they lumping in all the clean justifiable homicides on top of the murders? Or are justifiable homicides somehow separated in the reporting?

They include everything. They even include suicides, that's how they get to 30k/year and don't tell you that 20k of that is suicides. It's easy to track if you go straight to the source and get the numbers yourself. Go to the CDC and FBI websites and look at the annual reports on deaths, you can see how everyone died. Buckle up before you look at the medical malpractice numbers.

AK man figured intimidation game was in effect, can you imagine his oh shit moment when the first round hit him? Bet he never guessed this was how it was going to end!
I said it before a lot of these kids are playing a man’s game, real men don’t play games and fuck around. These are the new “skinnies” a lot of them will never see old age, just the inside of a body bag.

Texas statutory law, states homicide. Justifiable Homicide. Criminally negligent homicide. Non justifiable homicide charges as manslaughter, murder, or capital murder , best I understand it.

Yeah, he was still full of himself after playing tough guy on camera, talking about the "pussies" that don't do anything.

I hope the WTF he experienced hurt.

FBI publish compiled statistics regarding crime In the US every year. Categories start broad and then narrow down. The gun grabbing types seize on the published “gun deaths” numbers every year, which include every death caused by a firearm. You have to put in the effort to weed out the accidental and suicide deaths to even begin to grasp the real numbers pertaining to crime/attempted violent crime/self defense.

Conflicting information floating around.

Looks like Mr AK47 fires 5 rounds near the car, driver fires 3 rounds and kills Mr AK47

How does this medic fit into it.
From the police chief press release....

Sounds like AK Boi approached and pointed AK at driver in car. Driver smoke checked AK Boi. As driver drove away, 3rd party (medic?) Fired rounds at vehicle.

Yeah, almost looks like he got Annie Oakley’d.
Realistically he probably came up to driver ‘s window.

I started thinking about carrying extra magazines instead of only the one in the weapon.
Videos like this one, and many others, kinda confirm that there's little need to carry extras. A few primers get popped, a Karen screams and the roaches scatter.
Ohh I am sure that there's been a time or two that a civilian has needed a reload but what's the chances?
Better to have one and not need it...

I carry extra mags for “balance”.
Yeah, that’s my story and I’m stickin’ To it!

This guy seems to have been a libertarian boogaloo boy type looking to stir up trouble and not a commie.
Who, AK Boi or the shitposter in timeout that defecated all over this thread?

Y'know, something bugged me about how redacted was talking (and it wasn't just his tone or ignorant opinion in general). It's the use of "traveling" where it didn't fit... and then it hit me.

He thinks he's a Sovereign Citizen.
If you don't know who these goofs are, look 'em up. They're a special kind of retard.

Yeah, but it's fix to get real here boys. The Chinese are handing our own American made AR's and their AK's out the back doors of their consulates here in the States to BLM and Antifa and pretty soon you're going to be driving through a lot more firepower than one potato head AK guy enforcer pushing a quad.

The commies have lost all respect and fear of the police and the closer we get to election the hotter this revolt is going to get.

As Laura Ingram has pointed out, the Marxist governors and mayors in charge of blue states and cities like Austin are using Antifa/BLM to hold American people hostage to get them to vote Democrat. Their message is simple, get Trump out of office and we'll quit rioting, burning and let you drive down the street again.

It's going to be more than for balance, ballast whatever. Soon, most all those 'peaceful protesters' are going to be armed and if you get caught in the middle of them you better be prepared to put some lead in the air, we're talking Val Kilmer volumes in 'Heat'. You can assume everyone is a bad guy and you better have some skilz leveling the field.
