Tell me pit dwellers, why don’t you have a boat?

Another rough day on the floating waste of money. Ended the day with six adults from 16-22# and one jack.

boats are for young guys that want to spend time with girls and old guys that don't.

I got you beat on that one. My ex ran into my Mako while it was in the driveway. She then bitched at me two weeks later about the dent in the garage door. I told her it happened when she crashed the new car into the boat. She had the audacity to try and say it wasn't her fault.
I think I know her. I divorced her to. Now we have more money for ammo

I’ll probably buy another boat next year. My old man has one I’ve been using for the past 15 seasons, but it’s getting long in the tooth and it’s time to sell it. Dad wants something bigger, I want something simpler, if it’s my money this time I’m buying what I want and he’s welcome to use it. The picture is more my style.

My brother just ordered a new 30’ aluminum boat in the Northwest, damn near $300K.

Never had the inclination to own one. Im pretty sure somewhere there’s fuck you in the ass, with a baseball bat, no lube law here in commifornia for anyone that owns a boat.

I forgot his handle, but there used to be a guy on the 'Hide that had an outboard motor on a bathtub and they used to race. IIRC, he was from Washington State. There's probably a photo of it somewhere on here.

When the last of the polar caps and glaciers melt and the seas rise 500' then I will have to buy a boat.

Because my preference now is chartering a "boat" that has a crew including gourmet chef, toys, bartender, and a comfy bed!

Because all of the water around me never gets above ~50 degrees

Goddammit, of all the times for me to be on vacation in fucking Florida and I miss the first snow storm

Why in the hell would you come down here during the rainy/hot-as-hell/school-just-started/end-of-hurricane-season?
There's much nicer places to be than here.

Trust me, I know. We brought the kids down to spend time with my wife’s parents

Okay, that's the only acceptable answer. If you had said anything about the mouse's house, I would have strangled you. 😁
We’ve come down for that in the middle of summer before. Neither my wife nor I are fans even though she grew up here (early teens to late 20’s) and I spent several years living here. As we get older both of us prefer cooler weather to hotter. The problem is the price of flights is quite a bit cheaper during the summer

I have two!!!! 16ft Clackactaft Driftboat and amazing 18 Alumaweld Intruder. Plus 4 kayaks and a standup paddle board. Love the water!

Bought a used but nice one a couple weeks ago. Put it in the water twice. Spent $1400 on maintenance and repairs for the lower shift cable and lower unit.
Put $300 worth of fuel in it for 4 days of use.

1995 23' Rinker, 360hp 454ci. Less than 400hrs at the time of purchase.

Fun!

Oh man, I’d have A LOT more guns without my boat... mine’s a money pit on my terms. It’s a Great Lakes jack of all trades, master of none. KingFisher 1825 Warrior Tiller w/a Merc 115/80 jet hanging off the back. Just had the exterior coated in speedliner to start diver duck hunting out of. Also had a second rod tray welded in each side and a UFLEX Zero Torque tiller handle installed. Jet lower doesn’t need it, but when I plop down $2000 on a prop lower unit, couple props, and a Bay Kit to swap between jet and prop lowers, that boat’s versatility deeps quite a bit!

I just decal’ed it last night, we’ll see how that turns out, lols!

I couldn’t catch those fish without a boat, the two steelhead were my biggest ever, but I also could have caught them out of my previous little jet sled.

14’ish fishing raft is next. 18’-20’ deep V walleye style boat after that. Then a mud motor duck boat after that. Talking over the next 10 - 15 years. I’ll have to get car stacker lifts in the barn to house them, but they’ll be protected. My boys aren’t going to want to play video games... they’re going to go fishing and hunting with papa bear.
