This is my 4 shot group with my tac ops 6.5 creedmoor. First day I took it out. Shot 4 rounds to zero at 100. These shots were 5-8. 140 horndy match. As you see on my bed cover I had 6 different kinds of factory ammo. All shot great but obviously the 140 stood out. I’m not a guy that shoots a ton at all. I’m a hunter more than an everyday shooter. However I’d been hearing about tac ops on here for a long time. I wanted to have a gun built to work on my shooting with and gave mike a call. Ive owned a rifle at one time or another built bye almost everyone over the years. I’m also not a guy who wants to start a pecker contest over who is the best builder or who is better than who. Everyone nowadays makes quality rifles for the most part. What I will say is that there isn’t one built better or more attention to detail better than tac ops. Mike is a super guy and seriously cares about what he does and the quality that he puts out. Anyone that has been doing this as long as he has and is still ocd out the ass as he is about it, cares, and it shows. Since I got this rifle, which by the way only took 6 months, not 2 years, has been my favorite rifle I’ve ever owned. He also calls regularly to ask if all is well and everything going good with the rifle. That says a lot also. Did I pay a shit ton for this rifle? Yes, but if the customer service is at this level and it shoots at this level, he will be building me another one. Yes Mike, we will be arguing over what caliber be build that you don’t normally build soon. Lol

Sexy rifle and sexy group nice shooting

Delta 51, surgeon action, 20’’ Kreiger, trigger tech diamond, McMillan A3. She bad.... I never thought I’d like the texture but I love it.
Is that a standard Krieger heavy Palma contour or does Tac Ops use a proprietary contour?

Limit50, thanks. That's the same model that Mike R. suggested for me.

That is the new exos with the new lrh reticle. It’s great. My favorite Schmidt reticle I’ve owned. The contour is a Remington varmint contour. He also uses another heavy contour I believe it’s like a heavy Palma. I prefer to stay lighter personally.

Fantastic group and very sharp tac ops rifle. Looks like a great suppressor host.

Fantastic group and very sharp rifle. That group looks just like one tacops1 posted on page 6, so which one of you guys shot that group? He claimed it was on the "farm". Looks like a great suppressor host.

That’s his photo I was privy too as you can see the gun in the back of his truck out on the “farm” as you see in his post but thanks for your interest! I wasn’t posting the mans truck online that’s for him to do. But keep enjoying them “tactical rifles with factory ammo shooting zeros and 1’s” next “ and in my post it was never stated “I SHOT IT”

Simple question, don't get your feathers all ruffled, bet you're a hoot at partys. Didn't know why you were posting other peoples groups, i only post what i can do, but whatever.

So enjoy them , embrace them, love them, & one day ya may own one so until then support it and the facts. In the end I’m glad your happy with your stick but don’t hate on others proven track record in the industry doubt is hating when it’s proven so many times over and over and over again.

Mike shoots all his rifles himself. That’s how he knows they are .25 moa. He then ships the rifle with his group. Mike can shoot as well as build

As to Tacops1 and you. Not sure what your dog in the fight is. He showed you groups others beside him shot as well. To me that’s a “ This is not a fluke the rifles fng shoot” messsge.

This thread is so lost that it’s probably trying to vote for Biden at this point. There’s zero point in having a pissing match on this forum because at the end of the day it’s going go until somebody hits the panic button and somebody catches a timeout who has a standard membership. There’s about four people in here that need to shake hands or touch tips(whatever you’re into). Maybe a annual Snipershide grudge match where the internet can meet up for Fight club(only if we don’t talk about it), and actually punch each other in the mouth instead on with a keyboard.

After reading 7 pages of this thread I have learned a couple of things:
1. You cant please some people (not the OP)
2. Some find it very hard to stay on topic
3. If I have a chance, there are two builders that I will feel fantastic about building a new rifle l as I know they not only stand behind what they do, but they are willing to go above and beyond!

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.....

I read the first page and saw mentions of the builder being well known. Have we figured out who it is? The analyst in me shows that 503 miles from NY puts you in Ohio, WV, Virginia, or North Carolina. What builders are in those states ?

You should have read more. It’s short action customs, and no they aren’t to blame for the rifle being bad. Tacops and SAC are working together to build a brand new rifle as we speak.

I was reading while procrastinating doing homework. Couldn't waste too much time ;) He's going to have one hell of a rifle. Like the Captain Planet of rifles being built by two smiths.

The covid is strong in this one.

To the OP, it looks like you have everything worked out and will be getting a hell of a rifle when done. I don't own a Tac Ops yet, but one day I will. With threads like these it goes to show that you will be taken care of after the sale. I've had issues before with gunsmiths and usually am left with a bad taste in my mouth after trying to get things rectified.

Good for TacOps amd SAC for stepping up.

All this discussion makes me want to stop lusting after TT scopes, get busy getting some funds together so I can stop being a poor and get a TacOps rifle & then go post some groups that I shot and everybody can stop whining about who shot which groups. (Till they start whining that I shot them off a mechanical rest)......

Then of course to decide on what caliber I want to be shooting with it for like the next 20 years...

The situation is with that statement.... you wait for and spend that $$$ on the tacops rifle doesn’t your tacops deserve a TT optic ? If not a TT you def can’t go less than a S&B /ZC right lol 😂 😂 😂 I was always tought by my elders -Super Accurate rifles deserve super glass. Old man always said a great rifle is only as good as the optic that’s on it and the shooter behind it.

I have a S&B 5-25x56 scope sitting in the safe I could slum it with......

Now if there is a panic after the election and I can sell all my rack grade ARs, bulk .223 ammo and standard capacity magazines for like the prices they fetched during the Obama Panic.... Well then yep... lots of stuff might be able to be gotten...

I've thought about selling ammo as well. The wife said no though. I have 1000 rounds of Federal 9mm 124 FMJ just sitting there. Easily $500 these days, and that would still be lower than a lot of websites.

Nice optic man to put on a new tacops that’s gonna be a great combo love to see it when it’s done.

I can’t wait to see the OP new rifle and groups he can make with it too.

I decided after talking to limit50 above with the tacops 6.5Cm to try out that same S&B he’s using on the tacops tango when it arrives and do a TT on the X-ray

wanna hear crazy stuff

Remington Accutip slugs are fetching $39.99 a box for 5 thats F-ING insanity. I would 🤮 puke hearing boom 💥 and $8.00 go Cha Ching 💵 with each shot

I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with Impact actions. I hope not anyway, I own one.
But it would be interesting to see what if anything could be found to be at issue with it. I typically don't consider that the action contributes that much to the accuracy equation. Normally just think of it as a device for moving freedom seeds from the magazine to the chamber and removing the spent hull (slightly over simplified). Probably won't hear anything about it though.

I really hope the OP posts pics when he gets the rifle back. Sure will have a story to tell at the range!

I can’t really speak for any of the principles in this affair, but my impression is that the focus is on moving forward w the rebuilt gun, the great generosity and CS of some gun builders, and not too much of who did what to whom. I believe that all the OG component which were selected where all first class incl of course Defiant and it’s being left there...appropriately, I think.

main point is that the op is being made at least whole and between TacOps and SAC, I bet it comes out as one hello a rifle.

looking forward to seeing it in final form and both TacOps and SAC have shown yet again what stand up guys they are. Real menches (google it haha)

I better get off the computer now. Time to go beddy by.
Cheers

May I ask who's doing what with this build? Is TacOps only supplying parts and SAC doing the build? Or are both of them doing work on the rifle?

Either way, looking good so far @BillyNg

Tac Ops Supplied the Surgeon Action, A-5 stock and Krieger barrel at a very nice price for Mark and the OP....
