i bought two from Mile High and they are, as you say, unwearable. ill also see if my wife will wear it because im tempted to send them back. 28 bucks a pop and very high shipping, i expected much better.
Rather silly question for the AI crowd. I have a custom 308 on a Bighorn. Any thing I would gain selling it for an AT? I haven’t had the Bighorn long, but I really like the looks of the AT.
Heavier bolt lift... I ran a tl3 for awhile it's a great action but I love the ai system better

If it's a matter of looks and not functionality, perhaps you'd entertain the idea of going with an AICS-AT chassis? Should work since Bighorn actions are 700 footprints. Well. I’m finally adding an Elite Sand AI AXSA to my collection thanks to @SBGreen0369! Shorty 308 proof carbon barrel and a 6.5cm barrel to start. She will be on her way to me on Tuesday hopefully and even more hopefully I’ll get her out to the range before I go back on hitch! Now I’ll have the real thing to go with my Vudoo!

What do you do about this climate we are in? I was wanting to dip my toes in the AXSR water, currently have a ax308 and had a axmc. I sold the axmc and wish I didn't.
I am trying to figure out what the easiest round to add right now. Can find loaded Prime 338LM ammo for $2.85/rd (cheaper then buying brass and loading myself). However a 300win or 300NM would fit my needs better. Already loading 300wsm, so have all the components except brass. Right now I'm limited to 1350yds, but that could grow soon. I would prefer a 300NM and only add a barrel to go to 338. Or go 338 and add a 300NM barrel.
Eventually I'd like to have a 6.5cm, 300, & 338. The 300 and 338 are still TBD as far as Winchester, Norma or Lapua.
Wife already squashed the ASR plan.

Is the proof worth the weight saving on the AI platform? A shorter barrel 308 and a 6.5cm barrel is on the list.
I think you answered it. Since you’re already a reloader... get AXSR in 300 Norma now, add 338 barrel anytime for when you want to shoot factory for <$4 / rd.
And 6.5 barrel later...if you think you need to. Personally I’d add that to your AX308 instead.
Edit: Recommendation is assuming your AX308 is post-14. If not, 6.5 barrel for AXSR makes sense.

I’ll let ya know. I have that short carbon 308 barrel coming and a 24” 6.5cm AI barrel. They’re going to both be run with my ultra 9.

My ax308 is a post '14. So it has the quick change barrels. I have built a custom in 6.5cm, as well as bought a hunting rifle in 6.5cm for my son, so I'm committed on getting setup in that caliber already. I have a second bolt that I was planning on doing 223 conversion, so if the 264prc is a option I might go that way.
I don't see a 300NM available now is the problem. So my options would be get a 338Lapua, 338Norma or 300win.

i would also like to know, as that looks like the good closed cell foam. its tough to find that stuff other than in 1" thick layers. would love to know who can and will do custom cut and fitting of the closed cell foam.
