Hi,

@gnochi
What size runway are you needing lol?
Luckily for our International .gov clients we are just about 2 hours from the Stennis Airport that most of them fly into the USA at anyways due to the amount of USA .gov agencies, .mil entities and various big MIC offices.

@Frank Green
AWESOME!!!!!

Looks like anything above ~1200ft should be fine given assumed weather conditions in anything short of a hurricane for the planes I’m looking at =D

I was pulling for Birdsong all along. Stuff seems badass.

Hi,

I like the Birdsong coating too and honestly 1 of the primary reasons I wanted to give the other metal treatment on the bolt assembly and breech cylinder a try was that it is indeed a metal treatment and not a coating.

It was to add zero dimensional changes to the bolt assembly and breech cylinder as to with the Birdsong I now have to have 2 different set of coating drawings made with specified clearances.
One for Birdsong black
One for Birdsong colors
Since the colors are 2x the thickness as the Birdsong black.

Sincerely,
Theis

...how important are the color options? I think that alone probably justifies keeping everything either “black” or “other” for the first couple years.

Hi,

IIRC the municipal airport down the road is 4000ft blacktop.

The color options are going to be pretty important more than likely.
Spending the time now to get the 2 different set of coating prints is no big lose because the colors displayed at previous Shot Show of the prototypes got pretty good reception.

Hi,

Both and more, lol

Black
2 different greens
2 different "tans"
Copperhead
LSU purple
Grey
Various Camo designs
Blue
Red

I am thinking to offer the following action and chassis colors:
Black
OD Green
FDE variant
Grey

With all bolts being signature Copperhead

Sincerely,
Theis

Grey might look really sharp on that kind of a system, especially with the Copperhead bolt.

you mean super navy seal sniper grey

Hi,

O we got jokes this morning, lol??

So for a refresher, haha...here is what the Birdsong colors look like. Geez this Gen 1 model looks like so long ago, haha.

Top To Bottom:
Purple
Camo
Black
Grey
Tan 1
Tan 2
Green 1
Green 2
Copperhead

From that to the current Gen 3 (Which has been changed a good amount already, lol)
Changes include:
Making the trigger guard and bottom center section 1 piece.
Making the LOP and Cheek height adjustment capable to be mounted on either L or R side
Making rear buttstock piece slightly different angle to facilitate being able to better lock folded with bolt completely closed.
Condensed the screw sizes to be as cross compatible as possible.
Changed lots of angles, radii, clearances, etc

Hi,

That it does!!
Going out for meet & greet disguised as a photoshoot for new website/marketing pictures.
Just happens to line up with the SD crews Border Wars match.
We will be getting in a couple days ahead of time and will probably be enjoying some recreational range time the 22nd and 23rd.

Never been to that range...anyone have some experience or knowledge about it.

Hi,

So brief update on a few of the things that are going to make the production units better than our testing units....

Hardware compatibility in as many places as possible with the least amount of not only head sizes but the actual lengths.

Not very often we see the same length action screws and definitely not very often we see those same screws designed into the chassis hinges :)

Theis

This is the type of design features that will make a great product become “Cream of the Crop”.

Didn’t know you were a DJ as well. Lol

Hi,

Also, it is just me or does that 1 guy look like a young roided out Jacob Bynum, lol?

Hi,

LOLOLOL I just did not like the load meter readings on the Mazak when boring that deep hole in the receiver body since all cutting is done after heat treatment.
The tolerances and finish we have on that hole are the backbone of the entire actions features.

Theis

That little VCU definitely doesn’t have our strongest spindle.

No more machine talk...

if I don’t get one by spring time when the weather warms up (in NY) I’m going to hijack the next shipment to coating.

From the sound of things, the shipment TO coating was already hijacked...

Hi,

Good luck with that, lol...production batches will be delivered via means that this image ensures safe drop off, literally dropped off, hahaha.

Nice! can wait to see you there

When the high pressure cartridges are used will they require stronger/different spec suppressors or will normal suppressors work due to the muzzle having less pressure than the chamber?

Suppressor barrel length and cartridge limitations are based on the pressure at the muzzle already. Chamber pressure that’s higher by the amount Theis is looking at will almost certainly require stronger suppressors, since turning a suppressor into a balloon is a best case failure.

I wonder if a suppressor for a 300 Norma would be adequate for a high pressure 308 (just examples)

Debating weather the first baffle will take too much of a beating because of the higher initial pressure

Or

Will the increased internal volume be adequate to absorb the increased energy

20” bbl or longer on 308, don’t see the high pressure rd equaling a 300NM rd from 26” bbl, muzzle pressure or gas volume standpoint.
Charge weights, burn rates, etc

That’s what I was thinking off the bat.

Was going to pull out some expansion formulas tomorrow if I had a chance...or

just ask TBAC and listen

TBAC & listen sounds about right.

That’s a nice spot. Most ranges around here are “sand pits” of sorts

just some generic stuff not to make you write a essay

is it all steel or can you put paper or the closer ranges

Min max range

What are the distances set at...every 100 yards on the dot or misc because if the landscape

I looked online for a bit, either my Google Fu dumped me or I mused it.

thanks
