Tac Ops Rifles

You have to watch it.
It's a true classic and the source of so many good memes.
That’s what my attempt was. I was hoping someone would reply to my post with a pic of their rifle, and then I would reply back with “Oh my god, it even has a watermark!” Lol

Finally a weekend of nice weather here in the northeast to shoot the Xray and new Delta out to 200, 300 and 500 yards

well....howd it shoot?
Just like my other TacOps rifles - fantastic. At the 500 yard berm, I was laughing every time I pulled the trigger and saw the top plate swing. That Delta is easy to shoot and becoming my favorite.

Interesting thing is I threw together a load using some older powder and bullets that were sitting around (can't waste anything these days):
42.0 grains of IMR 4064
175 SMK at 2.215
CCI #200
FGMM brass with five reloads on them

Very surprised at how well the 175s shot given the 18 inch barrel. Now I wish I had more of both 4064 and the 175s...

Where in the Northeast to get 500 yards......asking for a friend.?

Beautiful rifle.
Woodcock rifle range in Dartmouth MA. This is a no thrills place - uncovered with beaten up benches and rusty metal folding chairs, but it's 500 yards.

Last time I was in Dartmouth I was helping someone move their stuff to a friends house.

The friends house was the family home of General Phil Sheridan...Great place!

I shoot a bit further north but not too distant, Harvard Sportsman Club. They offer 300 which is pretty good for MA.

Sadly MA doesnt offer much for a rifle like the Tac Ops to stretch its legs.

Yeah, MA is not a great place for longer range rifle shooting. Copicut is 300, Ames is 300. Granby did go out to 1050 until the town shut down that part of the range.

Yep took a class at Granby...great range...nicer people running it....shame they are shut down.

Devens had a great series of ranges but with Admin change DOD has become unfriendly to the club.

So much for respecting the People and tax payer.

We just finished a large contract for an Alphabet Agency so I would like to apologize for not being on comms like normally.
After this coming Thursday it will go back to the norm so feel free to blow my phone up or pm me here...

Thank you

I rarely shoot my Delta these days, but when I do, I wonder to myself what the hell has kept me away. I suppose that it is that I enjoy tinkering with shit, and Tac Ops rifles don't require much other than aim and fire.

Someone's M40A1 is inbound ;)

Today is a special day for me and two years in the making. I was lucky enough to own a Tango 51 and a Tango 66 for several years. After a serious medical issue I was forced to sell them both. Thankfully I have recovered 100% and have again been fortunate to obtain a, non standard, dream build from Mike. He is an OUSTANDING person, friend, and amazing rifle-smith. I can’t thank him enough for being open to this build and all the little details he put into it above and beyond. I saved the best pic for last !

That's really cool! And I am glad to hear that you are back to 100%.

This reminds me of a build from a gentleman that went by the screen name of George Mac on some sites, where he put one of his TacOps rifles in an M40a1 stock. I think he used it for work? I dunno.

Anyways, cool build! Love seeing a more unique build.

I've got one and when I started hearing how much they were going for I almost couldn't believe it.
Same here.... I took mine off my A5 and put it in a bag very carefully and set it inside the safe..... again very carefully

Beautiful rifle , did the rifle take 2 years from Mike Directly ? Or was that on your end to get back into a rifle from him as a project ?

Beautiful rifle man you have something really special here. Congrats 🍾🎊🎉🎈 I love it.

I know for those wanting a new Tacops the wait right now is about 6 months give or take some time to guarantee perfection, Mike don’t cut corners. It’s worth the wait. If he told me 6 and it took 8-10 I would be patiently awaiting perfection and happy on its arrival.

Wow, I'm really surprised. I figured it would be about a year at least with all this crap going on.

The two years was on my end not Mike’s. I needed the health and financial recovery. Mike thought the build would take 6-7 months. It took 9 but I have NO complaints. My advice is contact him when you initiate the project peramiters. Pay him on time and let him work. He has mastered multitasking and WILL take your call but on behalf of everyone in the que...let him work ;-)

That’s awesome glad you back in the game congrats again

My two was the same 6-7 months took 9-10 but I couldn’t be happier you can not ever rush precision or perfection I’m happy as hell

But i still need to shoot them my next time off which hasn’t happened for me yet

The wait is always worth it. Currently waiting on the ATF to process my paperwork for additional goodies from Mike.

That’s next for me too, a Ti .30cal can from Mike... trying to get my dealer and all the places needed in line to get the process started now

Local gun shop has been saying lately he's seeing a 5 month time for the paperwork to go through for a can.
