Sniper S*...What's with the hole in the scope cover in the X-Ring video at 2:30 mins ?
It helps with the depth of field issues and cut parallax offsets. Other than Sniper S*... you can use it to ensure you're clearing near range shit like a yucca leave or other obstacles like small branches while hunting. It is not as funky as one might think. Although that's a fairly large hole, it less effective as close, but it would be brighter. What's with the hole in the scope cover in the X-Ring video at 2:30 mins ?
That is exactly what WE all want as wellThat is exactly what I want as well.
Just curious why be heaps 6.5 barrels? Because you all shooting 6mm in PRS now? I really like the 6.5.Easy enough to watch the classifieds here. I would guess $500-$600'ish. It's a lot of supply and demand. There will probably be a bunch of new/used 6.5cm barrels for sale when the ATX starts getting out there. I picked up a new AI barrel for $600 and was happy to pay that, but seen some go for less.

Ah ok. Yeah....Ammo situation sux for you guys!!I think a lot of guys are shooting 6mm loads more often in comps these days. With 6.5 ammo and components becoming impossible to find of late it has even pushed myself to purchase a 6mm Creedmoor barrel lol.
Just reading this thread and wanted to drop a line telling you great job on the video. Useful information. Been watching a while. Wish you continued successJust wanted to drop in and say hello and thanks to everyone at Accuracy International and the Hide. I just released a full length video on the rifle at the range. “X-Ring” on YouTube.
Thank you Doctorwho! I really appreciate it.Just reading this thread and wanted to drop a line telling you great job on the video. Useful information. Been watching a while. Wish you continued success
Finally got around to this. The factory AIAX 6.5 Creedmoor weighs 4lbs 8oz.Just watched those both. Very helpful like always . Since you’ve had your hands on it I was interested in the results with the 6 Creedmoor barrel you threw on it. I really don’t plan on using the 6.5 Creedmoor barrel it comes with and already have a 6 Creed barrel on order to ship at the same time as the rifle. We’re the weights in barrels different or the same? You kept mentioning the weight of the 6.5CM barrel it comes with but not how that stacked up to the others (unless I missed it). What’s recoils feel like between the 6CM and the 6 Dasher out of that? Always appreciate your info, and thanks for the help
So the AI team prefers the straight triggers over the curved?
I think he's talking about the trigger shoe.Alot of competition shooters do... Your not hiking it 10 miles to hunt big horn sheep at 12k asl.
All that extra weight helps stay on target through recoil
I think he's talking about the trigger shoe.
So is the AT-X shipping with an AW mag?
Need drum so I can shoot a whole match without switching mags.Negative. It's coming with AI's new 30 round extendo clip.
I swear the wait for this rifle is worse than having a suppressor in purgatory...
You get to tell people it’s an AI.What would be the advantage/ if any of running this rig vs a custom for PRS environments.
Personal preference. Why run an impact vs a Curtis? Why a foundation vs MPA? Why a TT vs Bix n’ Andy trigger. It’s all in what someone prefers. I prefer an AI so I would have an advantage running this. What would be the advantage/ if any of running this rig vs a custom for PRS environments.
Length of Pull: 13-15.25" (2.25" adjustment)What’s the minimum LOP

Well this was fun to see on their Facebook page. Here is to hoping bolts will be out in the next 12 months or less
In all honesty customs have come a long way since that video was shot.I keep wanting to justify this purchase when I think about having potential issues with a custom .....maybe the slight increase in expenditure (buying the AI) ....is buying piece of mind.
Yep, AI invented the competition chassis. Everyone else is just trying to imitate it.
What reason is that? There is a reason ARCs shoulder BarLoc is no longer around...

- Some customers have reported a Point of Impact shift if the barrel is struck with a Barloc installed.
- American Rifle Company has not fully tested what level of impact is required to cause a shift.
- There are no safety issues. If this may be a problem for the intended use of your rifle, consider using a standard barrel nut or standard shouldered barrel and an action wrench to remove the barrel.
They discontinued sales on the shouldered BarLoc for a bit because of POI shift, which seems to still be an issue...What reason is that?

What do you torque to. Just curious. I know AI says 55 others have said they do 60.So while we are talking about consistent barrel changes check this out:
I zeroed my latest .308 tube this past weekend. I want to know the sight offset for my 6.5cm tube. I put it on and torqued the quick lock screw.
This is the 5 shot group I got:

first round was low the next four fell into a group .1 mil left. I haven’t shot this barrel in a while. IIRC this barrel has always thrown the first one low.
Before heading home I put my short .308 back on and torqued the quick lock screw. I fired 5 more rds through it to confirm all was well and that my zero was good. This is what it looked like:

I can’t complain.
AI Quickloc is 49 in lbs. most do 55-65 in lbsWhat do you torque to. Just curious. I know AI says 55 others have said they do 60.
I use a 6NM fixit stick limiter which is 53 in lbs. AI recommends 5.5NM (49 in lbs)What do you torque to. Just curious. I know AI says 55 others have said they do 60.
