That's all part of the act. He really doesn't care about the woman that he killed, her family or the person he wounded.

He only cares about his career. So he's got to appear remorseful and caring.

Everything that he's doing is to influence public opinion to put pressure on the prosecutor to go easy on him or give him a pass. He's also putting on an act to influence potential jurors to get him acquitted if he's ever charged.

People ask, "how does he sleep at night?" Answer: On a big pile of money.

If he ever gets out of this thing, watch him attempt to finish the movie. The mantra will be that, "Halyna would have wanted it that way and we're doing it for her."

Well thank God George Clooney has weighed in. According to him everytime he was handed a gun on set he personally checked to see it was not loaded with live ammo and he would show everyone on set that it was unloaded. And that that was always done on every shoot (heh) he was on. Also Gloria Allhag is on the job representing a crew member (so Baldwin is fucked) and according to her the scene they were doing did not call for Baldwin cocking the gun much less shooting it.

Breaking news . !!!!!!!!!!!

Media is now reporting , newly acquired photos from the set of "Rust" and cast/crew who are speaking out.
According to reports from crew members , seconds after Baldwin pointed and aimed the gun at Halyna Hutchins, members of the crew and cast heard a loud noise come from a "grassy" hillside very close to the set where filming was taking place . The area where the the suspected shot came from can be seen in this picture taken by crew members

The only way a hammer is dropping on a properly functioning SAA from 1/4 cock (safety notch) to full cock is if the trigger is pulled.

If it is not functioning properly then it is possible, but would require a thorough examination of the gun to determine if it was a mechanical failure.

Nope. Not at all, UNLESS the hammer had been modified as to have the half cock notch removed OR the trigger had been glued to the rear of the frame in a perpetual pulled position.

If you pull the hammer back on any SA firearm without the trigger being held down and let the hammer go, it will automatically lock onto the half cock position. That was the ORIGINAL safety position of the old days. They were carried with the hammer on half over a loaded chamber. Today, the standard safety procedure is to carry hammer fully down on an EMPTY chamber, OR, hammer down BETWEEN chambers on guns whose cylinders have stop pins located between chambers to secure the hammer.

TL;DR: That motherfucker cocked the hammer AND pulled the trigger while completely conscious to what he was doing. The bottom line boils down to whether he KNEW that a live round was in there or not. Plot twist: He might even had slipped in a live round himself. It is not unknown for leftist fanatics to resort to depravity like that.

ETA: At this point, if I were a detective, I'd be more interested to know if there had been sexual misconduct perpetrated by Alec upon the deceased anytime during their association and if the deceased, at any time, hinted that she will spill the beans on Alec.

1) Trigger clicking into "quarter" "safety" notch of hammer
2) Trigger clicking into "half" "loading" notch of hammer
3) Bolt snapping to cylinder, in the locking slot "lead"
4a) Bolt snapping into locking slot of cylinder
4b) Trigger clicking into "full" "firing" notch of hammer

4a and 4b should be simultaneous.


In a properly functioning SAA with standard trigger (not the modern safety system triggers of the clones or Ruger), what Baldwin described is not possible.

A thorough inspection of the gun would prove whether he is full of shit or not. By making that statement, he has set himself up pretty bad, unless the gun has already been inspected and it deemed to be a mechanical failure, which could be possible if the gun was fanned alot.

TAOS, N.M., Dec 3 (Reuters) - Some of the people who handled guns on the set of Western movie "Rust" featuring Alec Baldwin may face criminal charges after the fatal shooting of a cinematographer during the filming, a New Mexico district attorney said on Friday.

"Everyone involved in the handling and use of firearms on the set had a duty to behave in a manner such that the safety of others was protected," New Mexico First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies said in a statement.

"Certain individuals may be criminally culpable for his/her actions and/or inactions on the set of Rust," she said, adding that she had yet to make a decision on charges.
