Hornady LnL conversion on a Rock Chucker (or other) press

I use a LNLAP to load pistol cals and .223, and a RC for other rifle cals. The RC has the Hornady LNL conversion. I added almost 1/8" of shims under the LNL conversion to make the die adjustment the same for both presses. Has worked great for me.

Reasonable accuracy expectations .223 on progressive

I load precision .223 on a LNLAP, and shoot it out to 800 yards from a 26" WOA varmint AR. It'll stay under about 3/4 MOA vertical, but windage, well, windage requires some ability.;) I use 77 gr Noslers, Win cases, Rem 7 1/2 primers, and 24.0 gr of Varget individually weighed. 24.0 gr of TAC...

    Sierra's mini service rifle manual

According to Hodgdon's burn rate chart ( Burn Rate ), N140 falls between Varget and RE15. I don't use N140, but I use a lot of Varget and RE15 for 77 gr loads. Works well out to 800 yards.

Bad Time To Start Reloading ?

To quote my dad, "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is now." It applies to reloading too. Some components are as hard to find as unicorn horns. But buy what you can when you can find it, and work out a 'plan B' for the rest.

    223 and barrel twist

80s should be fine in a 1-8. I have been shooting 80s gr. Noslers in my 1-9 Savage bolt gun successfully.

    243 question

I've been using the 105 Amax (non moly) out of my older 700 BDL Varmint using 41.0 gr of H4350. Work up your loads to 41.0 gr. carefully, since it is at or above max book loads. It shoots sub-MOA out to 800 yards; haven't tried any farther yet. Chronoes at 2910 fps in mine. 400 yards is...

    Bad primers or firing pin?

Do you get the same FTF percentage with factory ammo? Or is it only with your reloads? Tell us about your reloading setup and processes. Did you use a case gage to set up your sizing die? Do the FTF rounds fit in the case gage? Do you lube the inside of the case mouth when sizing? If the...

    Electronic Scale voodoo ?

I've tried several of the cheap (sub-$50) digital scales and found them all to be worthless for measuring powder. Too much drift. I think as long as you don't go cheap, any of the name brand reloading scales work just fine. If your budget is under $80 - 100, don't waste your money on a...

Does Dillon make a Rapid Trim 1200 size / trim die in .260 Remington and .338 Lapua Magnum

Try CH4D. They list a Dillon trim die for the 260, but not for the 338LM. Caliber List : CH4D

    Small Reloading: A Beginning undertaken by a beginner . . .

Great write up. You can get started in reloading on the cheap and still produce great ammo. I know several shooters that started reloading while living in a cramped apartment, and what they did was bolt their press to a 2x6 long enough to reach across their kitchen table or counter, and used...

    223 loads for long barrel

I shoot a AR with a 26" 1/7 barrel, and mostly use Varget, too, but with 77 gr SMKs. Almost as good as Varget for me has been TAC, IMR4320, RE15, and WW748. Varget, TAC, and RE15 are hard to find but the 4320 often shows up locally. It meters better than Varget, and often produces groups...
