Ok all good here. Once I started tightening everything settled in. I think they worked out well. Now to shoot this thing. GM

    Rifle Scopes SWFA 30mm Rings

Hello Hiders, I am installing a Nikon FX1000 on my 700 Police in .308, and the ring caps seem to have more space than I remember seeing before. Is something off here? I am relatively new to all this. I included a picture that I hope you can see? The scope has 30mm tube and the rings are of...

Ok don’t laugh but I only have a Lee Hand Press. I will need to get some type of single stage press mounted in the lab. Greg

I can pretty well tell from searching the forums that the Forester and Redding dies are really liked here. Thanks for the info. Greg

    Reloading Dies

I know this subject has been beat to death most likely, but I have some reloading gear at my lab I work at and need to get some .308 dies. I plan to work on only my fired brass from my 700 Police. I am used to loading pistol ammunition and back in 2012 I reloaded some .308, but never to the...

700 Police Scope Base Screws 06-48 or 08-40?

Well that settles it. Thanks for the info everyone. It ended up being #6 screws. I know this might be a deep hole question, but should I get it tapped out to the 8s or just not mess it. Thanks again for help.

700 Police Scope Base Screws 06-48 or 08-40?

I measured the diameter of one of the holes and it was nearly 5/32 across so I guess that translates to a number 8 screw but if anyone can verify what they know about it I appreciate it. Thanks.

700 Police Scope Base Screws 06-48 or 08-40?

I picked up a Remington 700 Police .308 a couple days ago. Looking forward to getting everything together and shooting. I have seen some information online at various places that says the Police versions of the 700s are now drilled and tapped for 08-40 screws from the factory instead of 06-48. I...

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA As far as my load well let me rephrase that I hope it's a good one. It worked that day but time will tell. It's a start.

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA Hey guys. I actually have not had any problems with flyers with the cold bore but I have read things on that. The first shot always seems to go right in place. I do feel lucky that I got a good one. Some days I do better than others but I have much to learn. I guess I will start...

    Bullet Seating

Well I worked up a pretty good load the other night with 44 grains powder, FM210 primers, Winchester brass, and Hornady Amax. Managed 5 shots in group of .382. That is the best on that type of projectile I have done so far. One thing that has me stumped is when I am seating bullets. My OAL is...
