Maggie’s The Welding and Metalworking Thread

I’ve been absent for a long while largely because I’ve been working like a lunatic all over the country. My work partner up here in Madison, WI is a badass Ironworker and does custom leather work. I had him make me the above rod holder. I had to get a pic of it in good shape because I...

Does anyone have a good home for a couple wolfdogs.

Damn brother, I remember when you got those badasses. They've been your "kids" for quite a while and I know how much it's killing you to part with them.

Maggie’s The Welding and Metalworking Thread

That's one of those videos that makes us kick ourselves in the nuts for doing shit "wrong" for so long and never having any idea what we were missing. I can already see how my next sheet metal job is going to improve.

    Bug-O-salt kill ratio

They take a BBQ or crawfish boil from a pain in the ass with all the damn flies to a separate party with people fighting over the salt guns shooting the pests. Mine have been worth every penny. As I mentioned above, our big problem down here is the humidity gumming up the salt in the hopper.

    Bug-O-salt kill ratio

I've had phenomenal success with mine this year. My biggest headache is with the crushing humidity down here the salt cakes up in the hopper.

⏩ The OFFICIAL - One and Only - Presidential Debate 2020 Thread ⏪

Thanks for the shoutout brother. I've been on a shutdown at the steel mill since June. I got laid off this week, so I'm back online hunting the next job and popped into the Hide for a few mins. You badasses carry on carrying on.

i think boggie brown has taken a direct hit from the damn storm

I was referring to these studies on the lower 48. I wouldn't want to compete with mountaintops https://science.howstuffworks.com/science-vs-myth/everyday-myths/seattle-rainiest-city.htm https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile,_Alabama#Climate The inaccuracy of rainfall collection data also...

i think boggie brown has taken a direct hit from the damn storm

I appreciate it, but I'm "swamp people" and lose my mind in places without proper rain. I took massive thunderstorms for granted until I moved away. I enjoy living in the rainfall capitol of the country (by volume not rainy days)

i think boggie brown has taken a direct hit from the damn storm

The missus made it home (driving) from Boston yesterday. The complete and abject failure of the "News" and the online navigation systems to accurately convey that the Panhandle is essentially closed added 8-10hrs to her drive. I was literally listening to traffic reports and news reports...

i think boggie brown has taken a direct hit from the damn storm

Hiya Gents, Thanks for thinking of me. Other than the aforementioned tree and a broken water main (just repaired) I came out very very lucky. The damn thing sat out there so long that it jogged east and spared us here in SW Alabama with the exception of Dauphin Island which is basically in...

Hilarious Hot-dog stand holdup hits Helmeted Harpoon w. hollowpoint

Pretty sure that's a couple of blocks from my old apartment up there. My very last weekend living up there the Latin Kings got into a big shootout in front of my place while I was out fishing. I came home to cops everywhere, trying to figure out if any bullets had made it inside the...

    Milwaukee vs DeWalt?

Thanks for guidance, gents. I've got a mix of the Fuel and non Fuel tools and a pile of the high output batteries. With the drills and drivers I don't know how much difference I've bothered to notice. Your description of the useless turd certainly sums up the non Fuel grinder, even w a 12.0...

    Milwaukee vs DeWalt?

What's your "secret" on the grinder? Because my Milwaukee grinder has such shitty battery life that it's only really useful with a wire wheel for short cleanups between weld passes. There's no way I can use it as a substitute for a real grinder with discs, cutoff wheels, tiger paws, etc. Does...
