I use a T-7 on a Dillon Strong Mount and it works extremely well. It raised my system higher which made visual verification and handle movement more comfortable for me. I am sure you will like it as well. BTW: I like your setup... looks really organized! Tom O.
Re: Bushmaster I have a Bushmaster V-Match carbine and for what it's worth, it is a lightweight carbine that runs extremely well. I have not had any malfunctions to date. The V-Match barrel is fluted and will hold 1-2 MOA with 55 gr. ball ammo. I understand that saying that in itself is...
Re: Where can I find Lake City Match brass in 308? You might want to also search for M118LR. That brass seems to be fairly plentiful and what I use in my M14 type rifles for match grade ammo. For regular or casual shooting, I just use regular LC, WCC, etc. brass. No sense using "match"...
Re: m1a not functioning correctly If you know that the round is not seated/bolt not closed properly... do not shoot the rifle, it could have an "out of battery" ignition which could be dangerous. Did you field strip the rifle to clean it? If so, did you grease the rifle prior to shooting...
Re: Finally an M1A for me!! Looks like you're off to a good start! Congrats! I am sure you will really enjoy the rifle and all of the the options that are available. There are many good scope mounts available nowadays. Sadlak and Smith make great scope mounts. Good Luck! Tom O.
Re: Chargemaster & varget - overweight charges? The McDonalds straw suggestion worked for me. But, I do still occasionally get a "over" charge, but rather than dump it back into the hopper, I use a small spoon (Lee Powder spoon (smallest one)) to remove a few kernels at a time until I hit...
Re: New shooter, few questions on my new M1A You might want to visit a couple of other forums more dedicated to the M14. Try M14TFL.com, I do see USGI fiberglass stocks for sale fairly often. The cheek riser you describe with bolt and nut sounds like a Karsten cheek rest. There are many...
Re: 45ACP Reloading Loading for the .45 is a snap. It is very forgiving and easy to handle but I don't have a Glock only 1911's. Using carbide dies are the best for me and do not require lube. The cases on my Dillon get flared (very slightly) to aid in bullet seating. And, I use a...
Re: M1 Garand build?? As a father and son project, the build will be priceless. Looks like Sailor posted some good info. Finding the parts and doing the build will be fun! However, you might want to send it out for the rebarrel/headspacing. Jon Wolfe and Ted Brown are Gunsmiths that will...
Re: Anyone using military LC 308 brass? The LC and LR brass are great for the semi auto rifles. For the most part, plentiful and cheap, to be discarded after 3-5 reloads. This is the brass that I use for my M14 type rifles and AR-10T. The brass is strong and takes a beating and is capable...
Re: forster co-ax why do I need one? I wouldn't say that anyone would absolutely "need one" regarding a Co-ax press, but I have a Bonanza Co-ax press and it works for me. Selecting a reloading press, like so many things in reloading, is personal preference.
