Hi Frank, My post count should be 1,003. Also, the site is moving incredibly slow for me. Is that a broader problem or just something I'm dealing with? Thanks.
The way I see it, the tactical look is cool, but I don't hunt and the only time my rifle is involved in covert activity is when I need to sneak out of the house to get to the range. There's nothing wrong with some shine to it and it looks really good.
Less than you would expect from a top gunsmith. He has a price list on his website. Take a look at that. Stewart Rifles - Services and Pricing He's pretty easy to get in touch with you want to get specific pricing.
Some months ago, I reached to Mr. Robert Gradous about getting a custom rifle built. Mr. Gradous was extremely generous with his time and knowledge. In addition, he was quite frank. He initially told me that it could take four to six months for him to build my rifle. As I expected the...
Update: I took the rifle out yesterday for the first time to zero, load test, and chrono. I was feeling pretty confident that there would be no contact, so I didn't even do any kind of targeted testing. I just started shooting. The scope was zeroed in two shots. Every load I put through the...
I had the LWRC SPR, which is essentially the same rifle. I was on a budget when I was buying a scope for it. I ended up with the SWFA 3-9. It was a good choice for the price. I shot it out it 600 yards, and it did well.
Rob, I went back at the cap again. This time on the higher dremel setting. To my surprise it flattened the hell out of it. The small arc that was at the bottom is gone. It's amazing how much material you can remove without breaking these things. Now I can pass seven, but not 8, bills...
Here is the pic after removing even more material from the bottom. At this point, I have taken off all I can get off. As it sits, I can get three bills through without resistance. Four bills hit resistance. According to my caliper, that means I have more than .013" but less than .017" of...
I did end up buying a higher set of rings early in the thread because of all the comments about the scoping hitting. Still, I really don't want to use higher rings unless I HAVE to. In light of the fact that Rob01 is running the EXACT same setup without issue. I'm going to shoot the rifle, as...
I got my busted dremel tool working again and managed to remove the last bit of material that can possibly be taken off. Now I have just over .013" of clearance. I can fit three $20 bills through when they are stretched thin. Considering how much this rig cost, I should be doing these tests...
