To clarify how much MOA I have available, I can get just over 3 1/2 revolutions. So, 12 MOA per, that's just over 40. Here's a pic of the base.

Re: .308 load question... Thanks. My thoughts on it are, drop is the easy part, wind is the hard part. So, if 178s are less affected by wind, those might be the better beginner bullets.
