Aero Precision Solus Unboxing on the Live

This appears to be correct, they finally charged my card for the $881 Bravo Solus. Now I feel like I need to spend some more money with Aero for the good deed they have done.

Aero Precision Solus Unboxing on the Live

Smoking deal on the complete Solus Bravo rifle right now, I almost thing they may have messed up their pricing… I took the plunge, we’ll see if it works out.

Stiller Tac-30 Is one hell of a Action.

I think the Stiller Tac-30 is an excellent value for what you get. If you were to take a Rem 700 action, and add a good base, 8-40 base screws, truing, pinned lug, tactical bolt knob and fluted bolt, you've spent just as much as if you had bought a Stiller in the first place.

    Remington quality

My main gripe about today's new 700's is they all seem to have a really long throat. With a 175smk, my AAC needed 2.940 to touch the lands, and my 5r needed 2.955" to touch the lands. Granted the smk will jump very well loaded at shorter lengths, i was just using that as a reference. Quality...

Stiller TAC-30 action, to Cerakote or not?

I assure you, this was not a trick question. Builders 1 and 2 are both well reviewed on this site. What i posted above is what they suggested, though they both said theyd do whatever i wanted. Their suggestions struck me as odd, which is why i wanted the hide's input.

Stiller TAC-30 action, to Cerakote or not?

It's been a long time coming, but I've finally gotten some parts together for a 6.5 Creedmoor build. Stiller Tac-30, Bartlein Heavy Varmint 6.5 1 in 8 barrel, Timney 510U, and Manners T4A mini chassis stock. I've emailed 3 different builders for quotes and lead times, and the rifle will be...

    Looking at a Remington

For a solid scope under $500, you can take a look at the SWFA SS fixed power scopes. In the $500-$1000 range, Vortex PST and Bushnell Elite have excellent options. For rings and bases don't go cheap, because if you do, you'll want to upgrade in the future. Badger or Seekins rings and bases...

    bedded HS vs manners

Another thing to note with your HS, my unbedded HS shot much better torqued to 42 in/lbs front and rear than it did torqued to 65 in/lbs. Just something you could try.

    bedded HS vs manners

I just switched from an HS to a t4a mini chassis. True, the mini-chassis doesn't have to be bedded, but there are those who bed them to get every bit of accuracy possible. If you are happy with the feel of the HS, A bedded HS should have as much or more of an accuracy advantage vs. the...

    need help with rod choice

the 36" will be plenty for a 20" barrel. I went with a 40, and that's overkill on my 20" barrel. Keep in mind if you have a longer barreled rifle in the future, you may be better off getting the 40".

    Comprable alternative to 700 AAC-SD?

My AAC-SD shot consistently in the .6" range at 100 yards, in an aluminum bedded B&C stock with hand loads. Also loved Federal Gold Medal 175g.
