Yeah I shoot somewhere in 2.9 range with my 260. I removed the metal piece then welded it. Wasn't too hard. I also milled my rem 700 action so I can have no jams. Just a tiny little bit with a endmill. I did a ton of home gun smithing on my 700. Reinforced bolt handle bigger bolt handle etc...

I run a remington 700 with aics mags and I occasionally have my bolt run over but, very rarely. I even modded the mag so I can hold longer bullets. I don't try to be super fast at cycling the bolt I just go as fast as I think I need to be.

I dont shoot factory loads. Neither do anyone else who owns one. They may buy some to try it out soon as they get it but thats about it.

6.5 rsaum 4s is a great cartridge from what I heard great barrel life and a speed demon. I have a 260 and it works amazing. If a 6.5 lapua is a 338 necked down that would get around 800-1000 rounds barrel life. total flamethrower to the throat. Ive never heard anyone using one. If your buying...

well the mercury recoil reducer adds weight to the rifle which doesn't help when hunting, muzzle break adds little weight but makes more noise, and you might aswell just put a good recoil pad just for comfort. I learned on irons and love shooting with irons. I started shooting when I was 3. My dad has this cool training rifle and its a 22 and has a peep sight and I love just setting clay pigeons at 100 and picking them off. Now I do not like shooting my dads 405win sharps lol.

theres lots of woods that look nice. I could say high quality next to anything but its actually not. Pics are critical for wood. not trying to be a downer or anything. I dont know much about wood but I know a little.

I have a 260 rem with a 28in bbl 1:8 twist. I shoot 140 amax, bergers, and barnes. I also shoot some various lighter bullets like barnes 127gr lrx which shoot amazing. I love the gun and would definitely build another 6.5.
