Re: PDQ* Will a "zero" value wind effect elevation? I've actually had to use less elevation @1000 yds.w/ a headwind due to lift.

Re: So, what does a 1000 yd shot look like? Either get a laser rangefinder, or use a mil-dot reticle (on a known size objects) and take some range measurements. Heck, I'd say get a mil-dot scope and measure things like stop signs, window frames......just don't freak anyone out. Get your .308...

Re: 150 grain 7mm SMK @1000 meters Regarding the .308 168 SMK's not stabilized at 1000yds. Don't believe it. The bullet comes in very steep at that range and when it hits the paper it only looks like it's keyholed. This comes from 2 instructors that I definetly respect.

Anybody else have a Leupy MKIV with a reticle that is not spot on? Is this common? Mine reads approx. .1 mil over. It wasn't a big deal, I just subtracted .1 mil from my readings. I went to Badlands Tactical this past Th.-Sun. for their Basic Sniper course. I had a great time, even in the 114*...
